Penthouse War In Life {Season 1 Review}

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

It's been a while now since I watched kdrama. I love to watch them but when it comes to making a choice I would prefer going for historical genres. But at times when I get a good recommendation, I am watching whatever the genre may be.

I heard about the title of this movie from my sister. Sometimes I happen to recommend a movie to her. I asked her to watch the movie titled Vincenzo Cassano and she enjoyed it so much. I am always thrilled when watching movies with a mix of action, crime, thrillers, and romance. They get me on the go!

Last week I got into a conversation with a friend and she suggested I watch Penthouse. I was so distracted from the title thinking it can't be a good watch. Not until I browsed and realized that the title was not just Penthouse, but Penthouse War In Life.

The “war in life” that was included triggered me to even watch it. I wanted to know the reason why war would be included in its title. I hoped I would even get to like it. So I downloaded the first episode from season 1.

Penthouse War In Life

The synopsis of this movie is set around a luxury penthouse with 100 floors. It's a special apartment with luxury set aside for wealthy families and not just for anyone.

Shim Su-Ryeon is an elegant and classy woman who was born into wealth. She got into the penthouse after she was married to Jo Dan Tae who is also a wealthy businessman and a real estate tycoon. Su-Ryeon is like the Queen of the penthouse since she lives in an upper-class apartment.

Both couples had a twin, Su-Ryeon acted as their mother, meanwhile, she was just a guardian to them and not their real mother. Dan Tae on the other hand was a wealthy man who found himself attracted to Cheon Seo-Jin who was also from a wealthy background, but so arrogant. She got married to a poor family because of her jealousy and selfishness.

Yeon- Cheol, an ambitious man, and Seo-Jin’s husband happened to be a chief surgeon in a general hospital founded by his father-in-law. Despite his ambition, he was still regarded as a poor man from a lower background. But he lives up to becoming the man he wanted.

Oh Yoon-He came from a poor background and was a big rival to Seo-Jin because of her talent and intelligence, she became a sworn enemy of the upper class. Her love for her child knows no bounds and she worked all her way to bring a good life for her only child who wants to become successful and live in luxury like every other child in the penthouse.

I love the plot of this movie so much, the cast, and the classy nature of the apartments. It was well filmed and every actor played their role so nicely. There is no way you wouldn’t get to appreciate their acts.

Seo-Jin, who happened to be the villain in this movie, played her role so devilish that you will even fall in love with her acts. Though I get pissed off and annoyed at her role. But the energy she poured into playing this role made me give her a thumbs up.

Apart from the main cast, some others made the movie fun to watch. It wasn't just focused on seriousness alone, but you get to laugh out loud at some point due to the silly characters of some other cast.

Talking about suspense, I couldn’t believe I downloaded the complete season after my first attempt at watching the first episode. At some point, I even found it hard to let go of it and cook what I ate.

The suspense at the end of every scene would make you crave more. If it were to be an ongoing movie I might stop watching it and just wait till the whole episodes get aired completely. I love suspense, but not at the cost of getting so crazy.

Embodied different genres, suspense, drama, crime, thriller, revenge, and mystery, you can't tell what would come up next, and this is what gave it a balance to keep watching and want to know more.

Penthouse gave a good insight into what life's all about. If you are into taking morals from movies, you will appreciate watching it a lot. It shows different life scenarios, contentment, love, care, passion, selflessness, selfishness, fake life, and many others. From the movie, it's so obvious that not all that glitters are golden.

Life itself is a war on its own, why do you have to wage one with yourself?

In conclusion, if I were to rate this movie on a scale of ten, I would be rating the season one with a 9/10. And this is because it got a good start, and also ended up so nice. Not some kind of movie that gets poor finishing. I see myself watching the next two seasons. It is worth recommending and worth making a review on. Thanks.

I am adding this to my watchlist. Presently I am watching queen of tears. And I am still enjoying the scenes. But I feel these one would be more interesting

I also typically watch the medieval/tradional korean drama only. But it’s been over a year since I watched korean drama at all. I should probably check this one out. If you almost gave up food for it, it must be that good. Lol

😂. My boss for life. It’s a recommendation from @merit.ahama one of the greatest of all time kdrama fans you know oo. 😂. So even if there is a backlash from it, we put all the blame on her

What's this now 😂😂
I innocently recommended a series for you, there will be no blame 👀

Just for future sake. Someone that want to get back to movie after a year. 😂 You should be responsible 😆
