CineTV Contest: A Trip Back To Childhood: Review Of Aki And Pawpaw Movie.
It is another wonderful week in the Cinetv community and I’m delighted to be on this contest today which I’ll be talking about my favorite childhood movie.
I grew up in a rural and local area, where we all interact with some street slangs and all our lives portrays on local activities and we watched local movies as well.
We watched movies that focuses on our daily events.
Growing up, I watched many local movies that I’ve lost count for how many of them that I’ve watched. Out of all, my favorite remains Aki and Pawpaw which is my favorite childhood movie.
As a little child back then, I’ve always loved to play and interact with my mates. Then, seeing a movie about two little boys of my age made things more interesting and I always wanted to watch them on my television screen. This movie centers around two little boys who wanders all about in the community causing trouble here and there.
If I remember one of the scenes, the two boys caught a woman talking to a man at a restaurant and they went ahead to tell her husband.
By the time the man got there, he found out that the boys were wrong. He went straight to their house to report them to their father, Mr Ibu.
The boys knew they will be beaten by their father and they acted like they were innocent and their father blamed the man who had come to report them.
These boys are very good when it comes to pretending. They are two notorious boys that cause havoc in the society but whenever they realize that they are about to get caught, they will act like they knew nothing about what had just happened and that is usually how they escape from spanking or punishments from the society elders or their father.
One thing that makes this movie stand out is the comedy aspect. The boys were not just notorious but they were very funny. The way the talked, ate and do other things.
While growing up, I realize that they were not young boys, but men who are as short as kids but while watching them back in those days, I felt we were mates.
A scene I love in the movie
One scene I love is where Pawpaw came home to meet his mother and her boyfriend in a cozy mood. Instead of him to enter the house, he stood outside and peeped through the cotton.
Immediately they went inside the room, he came in to finish the beer his mother’s boyfriend was drinking.
When they both got out of the room, they wondered who drank the beer but Pawpaw came in and acted like he knew nothing about it. What a notorious boy!
What I loved about the movie
I must say that I enjoyed watching every part of Aki and Pawpaw because it was entertaining. What I loved most about it is how the boys usually escape from the punishments that they were meant to serve.
Would you believe that many kids of my age then, could perform some tricks just to escape punishments? Then, every child liked Aki and Pawpaw and how funny they were.
This made me remember when my mum would tell me to finish having my meal before watching Aki and Pawpaw because laughing while eating may be very risky. Aki and Pawpaw came out with different movies with the same title but different storyline and if I ever see those two young boys in a movie, I always want to give it a watch because watching those boys is a level of fun on its own.
Aki and Pawpaw made my childhood fun and I can decide to go back to my childhood days by watching this movie which brings about more reminiscence.
In conclusion, Aki and Pawpaw is a movie blockbuster which made my childhood fun and interesting.
