Movie musical is something I have always wanted to write about. I’m a musically inclined person and one thing that makes me feel good is realizing that in some movies, we have music and movie combined. It usually feels good.
The 1952 American musical romantic comedy, Singin in the rain is my favorite movie musical. I’ve watched so many movie musicals but this one remains my favorite above all other ones I have watched.
The movie Singin in the rain was directed by Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen and was produced by Arthur Freed. It’s a great movie after all and my best movie musical for now.

Plot of the story

The movie opens in the scene where Don Lockwood, attented his latest movie premiere with Lina Lamont titled The Royal Rascal. On the red carpet, Don gave a full details about how he became a big celebrity today in which he lied about so many things he said. His words contradicted his actions in the past few years and it was revealed and dugged out that Don Lockwood used to be a stunt man with his best friend Cosmo Brown and also a vaudeville musician.
Earlier on, there has been a rumor of a romantic relationship between Don and Lina but he even revealed that he loves Lina which sparked the entire rumor.

Eventually, Don got mobbed by his fans after the premiere and his only of escaping was getting into the car of Kathy Selden who later departed on bad terms with Don Lockwood because of her disfain for acting.
Suddenly, Don saw Kathy again when she was performing amidst a group of chorus girls performing All I do is dream for you.

Kathy never expected to see Don right there so immediately she saw him, she threw a cake at Lina which made her runaway because she never expected it to hit Lina.

What do you think will end up being the story of Don and Lina? I never thought they would be together but yeah, that’s what happened. I think Don fell in love with Kathy right away and yes, he started to search for her. One thing led to another and Don took Kathy to his home and danced in her neighborhood under the rain.

Don and Kathy became more close while working towards releasing the musical, The Dueling Cavalier. The premiere became successful but the fans wanted Lina to sing for them. Whereas, Kathy was the real star and owner of the movie. Lina was lip syncing while Kathy was the one singing the real song but finally, it was revealed by Don to the fans that Kathy was the one singing.

Kathy and Don finally kissed in the presence of everyone.

What I love or hated about the movie

I love the fact that Kathy and Don ended up together even though they never liked each other from the beginning and I never liked the fact that he didn’t end up with Lina even after it was rumored that the both of them were in love.

How it influenced you

It influenced me by making me say that we can find love anywhere. After the first time he met Kathy, he began to look around for her. So, love at first sight is real and can happen to anyone.

Performance of the actors/actress that left an impression.

Kathy and Don. Well, let me choose just one so I’d go for Don. Gene Kelly, who played Don, played the role very well and good.
For that movie, Gene Kelly left an impression and I think he is the best actor that left an impression.

Rating this movie, I think 9/10 will be better. The songs sound really good and they were even composed by people in the movie but not songs released earlier. So, it’s a great movie and I enjoyed watching it.

Hello, I am a lover of musicals, at that time they were in fashion who can forget Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Samy Davis Jr and Fred Astaire to name a few who participated in films of this genre. But the iconic scene of the movie was Gene Kelly dancing in the rain. Greetings
