High Fidelity: witness of emotional realities [ENG/ESP]
Hello dear community. Between the heat that makes itself felt, the sweat that soaks the skin in Cuba, and the occasional rains that accompany these months, it is good to enjoy at home listening to good music or watching something interesting on TV.
That's how I started having fun with the 2000 film "High Fidelity", directed by the British Stephen Frears. A story that exposes in its plot, the romantic experiences and emotional insecurities of its main protagonist, the actor John Cusack.
But apart from the script, and honoring the chosen title, the actor and his two friends have a business in a vinyl record store and other audio formats. At the same time, he pursues his passion at home, showing off his audio setup, to play his favorite soundtracks.
Although the film does not detail the technical part of its equipment, this will be my personal contribution, for those who like the subject.
As an amplifier, he uses the Japanese brand Sansui, with an appreciated track record and respect among audiophile communities around the world. Specifically, the AU-7900 model, the top of the line of this series, very popular among Hi-Fi lovers for its sound quality and great dynamic contrast. A very Vintage design, where its silver controls contrast on a metallic black chassis. This 76-77 unit adds a tone control for the mid frequencies, something we don't always find in integrated audio amplifiers.
I have the pleasure of having a similar amp in my collection of equipment from this brand, and its design and final result is really amazing: a very clean sound with an impressive sound quality, in the style of live stage sound.
Hola estimada comunidad. Entre el calor que se hace sentir, el sudor que empaniza la piel en Cuba, y las lluvias ocasionales que acompañan a estos meses, es bueno disfrutar en casa escuchando una buena música o viendo algo interesante en televisión.
Así que me puse a recrearme, con el filme del año 2000, de título: “Alta Fidelidad”, dirigida por el británico Stephen Frears. Historia que nos expone en su trama, las experiencias románticas y las inseguridades emocionales de su protagonista principal, el actor John Cusack.
Pero aparte de ese guion, y haciendo gala al título escogido, el actor y sus dos amigos, tienen un negocio en una tienda de discos de vinilos y otros formatos de audio. A su vez, en su casa sigue su pasión, exponiendo su setup de audio, para reproducir sus tracks sonoros de preferencia.
Aunque el filme no detalla en la parte técnica de sus equipos, este será mi aporte personal, para aquellos que gusten del tema.
De amplificador, usa la marca nipona Sansui, con una historia y respeto apreciable entre las comunidades de Audiófilos a nivel mundial. Específicamente, el modelo AU-7900, el tope de línea de esa serie, que gusta mucho entre los amantes de la Alta Fidelidad por su calidad sonora y gran contraste dinámico. Un diseño bien Vintage, donde contrastan sus controles plateados sobre un chasis negro metálico. Este equipo del año 76-77, agrega un control de tonos para las frecuencias medias, algo que no siempre encontramos en los amplificadores integrados de audio.
Tengo el placer de tener un amplificador igual, dentro de mi colección de los equipos de esa marca, y realmente es sorprendente su diseño y su resultado final: un sonido bien limpio y con una calidad sonora impresionante, al estilo, de sonido de escenario en vivo.

As a tuner, he uses another famous brand, the American Marantz, with its 105 model. Also, a player and recorder from 1975, the Panasonic 8-track cassette recorder, model RS-805US; a current collector's item, which was not widely used. As a CD player, a NAD model 522, from 1997, for the reproduction of his digital compact disc.
The film highlights the amplifier among all the components shown. It really is the most beautiful piece, a classic that today is very expensive, and that Cusack enjoys to delight his ears with the audio tracks of his preference, while resting his back, in a leather chair, the motorcity leather swivel chair. He likes to use as headphones, the renowned German brand Sennheiser, specifically, the HD 380 model for professional use.
In short, a film that makes you feel closely, not only the psychological conflicts that are part of Cusack's love life, but also makes you vibrate, the taste that people have for Vintage Audio, and for that magic that encloses, touching with our hands a vinyl record and feel that analog sound full of life, sweetening our ears.

También, un reproductor y grabador del año 1975, el Panasonic de casete para 8 pistas, modelo RS- 805US; una pieza de colección actual, y que su uso no fue muy generalizado. De reproductor de CD, un NAD modelo 522, de 1997, para la reproducción de sus discos compactos digitales.
El filme realza dentro de todos los componentes que se muestran, al amplificador. Realmente es la pieza más bella, un clásico que hoy se cotiza bien caro, y que Cusack disfruta para deleitar sus oídos con las pistas de audio de su preferencia, mientras descansa su espalda, en una silla de cuero, la motorcity leather swivel chair. Gusta usar como audífonos, la reconocida marca alemana Sennheiser, específicamente, el modelo HD 380 para uso profesional.

En fin, un filme que hace sentir de cerca, no solo los conflictos psicológicos que forman parte de la vida amorosa de Cusack, sino que hace vibrar, el gusto que tienen las personas por el Audio Vintage, y por esa magia que encierra, el tocar con nuestras manos un disco de vinilo y sentir ese sonido analógico lleno de vida, endulzando nuestros oídos.

Hola. Bueno saber que te motivó el post y que te guste la música. El filme no está en Youtube, sólo su aspecto promo. Netflix tampoco la tiene en su carpeta.
Yo tengo un dispositivo portátil, para ver streaming, estilo Firestick o Roku, donde encuentro muchas cosas interesantes liberadas. Ahí la pude ver nuevamente, pero también antes, había comprado la película en full HD.
Los calores tocan a nivel mundial, sólo que en Cuba, el aire acondicionado, se usa en pocas horas, sobre todo en la noche. La electricidad es bien cara. Saludos @abrunet
