I'm honestly impressed that this,iCarly and Zoey 101 got sequels to be honest. Specially Zoey as I just found that it exists from reading this.

It's kind of weird to think about: These beloved shows at the time had fans that hoped to see a return after they ended...only that by the time they do over a decade or two later, either those fans have changed or the magic, either from the era or from the writers and how the shows worked in their times, also changed and doesn't seem to work as well now. It also tends to be a challenge to reunite the cast knowing how some might not be reachable, retired, or if the sequel is supposed to not have a huge time skip, trying to pass off the clearly aged actors as the youths they were back then.

I've been watching Better Call Saul recently (last watched season 6 episode 3) which somehow pulls off being a prequel very well even in the wake of it's predecessor, but I think that aside from the unmistakable quality of the original show and writers, having the luck of every past actor available AND experienced writers to expand on an already great story is definitely a luxury not all productions can have.

Man...nostalgia is a weird thing, don't you think? I remember watching the Kenan and Kel show but didn't remember watching Good Burger...so I don't have an attachment or reason to watch this, but just to hear that these guys did someone again based off an old thing of theirs is interesting to put it in a way.

Then again, I probably thought the same about the iCarly reboot but didn't really give it much thought at all after the announcement.

Have a great day, and thanks for your review!

Thank you very much for your comment, it is difficult not to agree with everything you just said.

The issue of reboots, prequels and sequels has always conflicted me, because deep down it is always nice to return to those stories and fictional worlds that one loves, but there are more bad examples than good ones in this regard.

Better Call Saul serves very well to explain this, because it is precisely the resumption of an iconic universe, but its story has its own purpose that works in isolation, and it is difficult to question its existence as a whole.

For me, Zoey 101, iCarly and Good Burger (to stay within these examples) had the potential to return, but instead of creating an interesting story that paid homage to the original and could extend it organically, they end up being an insufferable rehash where the defects in the work are becoming more and more noticeable.
