"Atlantis: The Lost Empire" by Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise Review: A Fun and Intriguing Take on the Story of Atlantis
Greetings!
I am always been fascinated by Atlantis and every time I see a film about Atlantis I always want to watch it just like this animation about Atlantis titled "Atlantis: The Lost Empire". Whenever I watch a film about Atlantis I always want to see what Atlantis is going to look like.
"Atlantis: The Lost Empire" is all about the adventure of Milo James Thatch in finding Atlantis and fulfilling his dream of finding the civilization of Atlantis beneath the sea.
Clear Dialogues
I like how the dialogues of "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" because it is so easy to understand not just like any film that I am finding hard to understand the characters' dialogues. I also like the style of animation because it gives something unique to watch that is out of the typical style of animation.
How Atlantis sank
I like how Atlantis was portrayed moments before it was engulfed by the sea by way of a huge tsunami. The city is being engulfed by a huge tsunami that is almost thirty times as high as any building in Atlantis the center of the city was protected by a transparent barrier that saves all of the Atlantean inside it.
What I did not expect is that the princess of Atlantis is surprisingly friendly towards outsiders. I was not expecting it because I assumed that any Atlantean would be hostile toward outsiders but I was wrong.
Technologies depicted in the film
Another one that I am so eager to see when I am watching an Atlantis movie is the technology that is present in the film. In this case, the submarine, I must say that the submarine caught me off-guard and it is looking good except of course the glass bridge which I think is not optimal for deep exploration
The submarine glass bridge doesn't make sense to me because I am not aware of a submarine with a glass bridge that is being used for deep sea exploration. Well, this is an animation, so I think it doesn't matter all all.
Atlantean technology
The thrill began when the group encountered a lobster-shaped machine that was guarding the way to Atlantis.
I like the idea of an entity or machine guarding the passage to Atlantis. The lobster-like machine is so huge that is about twenty times bigger than the submarine that the protagonists are using.
How Atlantis looks like in this film
Then came the moment that I had been waiting for, seeing Atlantis. I have to admit that I am a little impressed by how Atlantis was portrayed in this film. With how Atlantis is portrayed in this film I think historians and writers are somewhat running out of ideas on how to portray Atlantis looks like.
I like how this film depicted the crystals powering the city, the writer has done a good job in portraying the technology of Atlantis which of course other-worldly and it indeed looks more advanced than the technology we are using today.
Conclusion
All in all this film is good and is fast-paced (no prolonged drama scenes). The twist is expected but I was surprised at how an antagonist was transformed before being destroyed.
To those who have an interest in the story of Atlantis, this one is for you, this is a good movie, fast-paced, and you will not get bored.
