"Star Wars: Ahsoka" by Dave Feloni (Season 1, Episode 5): A Revelation

Greetings!

In episode four Ahsoka lost the battle against Baylan Skoll because she carelessly holds the orb map that contains the location of Peridea. After she held the orb her hand was burned lessening her ability to battle Baylan Skoll. Also in episode four the team Morgan Elsbeth successfully made the jump to the location of Peridea where Imperial Grand Admiral Thrawn is located.

The narrative of this episode is about the suspenseful journey of Ahsoka back to when she was still the apprentice of Anakin Skywalker and also about the interesting revelation of one of the characters of the series who revealed to be very strong with the force.

Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano faced-off against each other with the very reason of teaching Ahsoka Tano and for Anakin Skywalker to finish her training. When Ahsoka Tano asked what was the lesson, Anakakin Skywalker replied: "Live or Die"

I like it when Ahsoka comes into contact with Anakin (who is already dead) while Ahsoka is still unconscious floating on the ocean. The idea of Anakin finishing the training of Ahsoka in an unexpected manner is brilliant. Star Wars indeed has a vast array of ideas that can intertwine with the story like this one in which Ahsoka (whose body is floating unconscious on the ocean meets with the deceased Anakin Skywalker and then squares with each other off for the sole reason of finishing her training.

The next scene is unexpected, Anakin cuts the bridge where they both stand and then Ahsoka falls only to find herself during the Clone Wars. This idea is brilliant. I never imagined that this series would have this kind of narrative not only that they bring back the old days but they also bring back the younger version of Ahsoka while she is still the apprentice of Anakin.

Interestingly, the scene pivoted from the Clone Wars to the Siege of Mandalore where Ahsoka is trying to help the side of Bo-katan Kryze in reclaiming Mandalore against Darth Maul. And so, Anakin said, I did not know about this battle, and Ahsoka replied: this was the Siege of Mandalore, we parted ways by now.

Just like some of the plots of this series, of course, we knew that Ahsoka would be rescued but making it an interesting rescue is what this episode successfully accomplished. If not for the hereditary trait of Jason as a Jedi she wouldn't have been rescued. Ahsoka's rescue coincidentally happened with the revelation of Jason being sensitive to the force.

Then the scene pivoted on the attempt of Ahsoka to trace what was happened on the site. This ability of Ahsoka is unknown to me. I do not remember any Jedi possessing this power before. If you do please let me know in the comment.

Ahsoka trying to know what happened on the site where she battled Baylan Skoll and when Sabine Wren arrived

All hope was seemingly lost at the moment but when Ahsoka looked up she saw the Purrgil, the hyperspace whales that can use hyperspace to travel from star system to star system. I knew that they would be using the whales to travel to Peridea when the map was destroyed by Baylan Skoll.

Ahsoka looking up to the sky and she saw the Purrgil, their only hope to travel to Peridea

Then the surprise came, I thought the star whales could only travel at an astonishing speed but I never thought that they were able to travel through hyperspace making them as fast as those space vehicles with hyperdrives used in the entire Star Wars universe. I think this is the first time that I saw a living organism that can travel through hyperspace.

The idea of Anakin Skywalker finishing the training of Ahsoka Tano in an unusual way is amazing. I think I have never seen a master and an apprentice finishing training while the master is already dead the apprentice's body is unconscious.

When I learned that the Purrgil can utilize the hyperspace lanes I thought it was a great idea and I am waiting for the right moment how Ahsoka and company will be going to utilize them in order to go to Peridea.

Baylan Skoll parting ways with his apprentice makes me wonder what really his plan is. But it is clear that he did not want to be part of the coming empire if Imperial Grand Admiral Thrawn would be able to accomplish it. The actions of Baylan Skoll make me wonder if he is going to end up on the dark side or not and it remains to be seen.

In the case of Shin Hati, it is shown that she still does not have what it takes to be a leader just like Ahsoka. But sometimes the true capability of an individual is revealed when there is no someone holding them back or commanding them.

All in all this episode is amazing, from the training of Ahsoka to the Clone Wars, and the Siege of Mandalore. The revelation of the ability of Jason or his sensitivity to the force is something that is worth looking forward to in the coming iteration of Star Wars. This episode left a very intriguing question, what Baylan Skoll is up to, why did he part ways with his apprentice? Not only that, he parted ways with the empire. It will be interesting to see if Baylan Skoll is going to end up on the dark side or on the light side. The use of the Purrgil for hyperspace travel is a brilliant idea, I could never imagine a scene other than using Purrgil to travel through hyperspace.
