"The Wolf of Wall Street" by Martin Scorsese: A Look into the World of Stock Market

I have always been fascinated by how the stock market works, how traders trade, how brokers sell stocks, and why people built the stock market in the first place. But slowly but surely I am making progress in understanding the stock market as a whole like how and why a company goes public and how a company changes by going public from a private entity.
In the movie entertainment industry, I like how movies capture and show audiences some aspects of the stock market that give me ideas about the stock market. And when it comes to stock market movies I am particularly intrigued about "The Wolf of Wall Street". I first encountered a clip of the movie on a social network when Leonardo DiCaprio's character Jordan Belfort asks his colleagues to sell him a pen.
The scene is so groundbreaking that every normal person can learn from it by simply showing how someone can sell a pen. That particular scene ignites my curiosity to watch the movie. Which I did.
The narrative of the movie is heavily based on the memoir of Jordan Belfort which is mainly about his career as a stockbroker he started in L.F. Rothschild under Mark Hanna but came crashing when the stock market dropped and to his eventual establishment of his own brokerage firm Stratton Oakmont.
The movie perfectly shows how a broker lives and gives a lot of information on how the stock market works and how the men and women of the stock market act and think. I like how the educates the viewer about some of the ins and outs of the stock market. I am sure that the movie captures and shows what a moviegoer will be looking for in a movie like this one.
The movie does not shy away from showing the not-so-good part of the life of a person involved in the stock market. The movie is very straightforward in showing how a broker's life goes which involves drugs, money, and prostitutes to keep them going as said by one of the characters of the movie, Mark Hanna.
I am surprised by the fact that a broker can only be concerned about making money and not thinking about what will happen to the person who bought the stocks. At that moment, I knew that it is a facet that some brokers are only concerned with selling stocks to make money and never have any concern for the buyer. I also think that not all brokers are the same. Some are only concerned about making money but I do believe that some are also concerned about whether the buyer of stocks will ever get a profit on their investment.
I was surprised when I found out from this movie that drugs, money, and sex as what drive brokers. Before watching this movie I thought the stock market was a very clean institution but it is not. Never in my wildest dreams that people in the stock market taken drugs, especially stock brokers.
And then there's this one scene that is epic, the scene that makes me want to watch The Wolf of Wall Street. It is the scene where Brad showed to his colleagues how to sell a pen. I think this one scene is the most epic scene of the entire movie because you can learn a lot from it.
I also love how the movie showed the audience the effects of drugs in a scene where Jordan Belfort is doing all he can do with his might to hop into his car in order to get home. Then the drug made him believe that he got home without a single scratch to which he later realized that he indeed was not able to get home without as was shown a few moments later when police knocked on his door to question him if he was the ever the person that is behind the wheel that wrecks his sports car.
All in all the movie is great and gives a lot of information about the stock market and how it works. The movie also shows me for the first time about the existence of penny stock. Penny stocks are stocks of a small company that doesn't trade on the big trading company. This is a must-watch if you are intrigued about the stock market how it works, what kind of people are working in it, and what kind of environment to expect if you are going to enter into the world of brokerage firms.
The lesson of the movie is that when you do something illegal sooner or later the government will be hot on your trail just like what the FBI did to Jordan Belfort which perfectly proves the saying "you can run, but you can't hide". Leonardo DiCaprio has done a heck of an acting on this one and if you are an avid fan of Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese you should not miss this one.

One of my favorite movies of Leo! This movie is a masterpiece~ The ending was so good! Margot Robbie's acting skill is superb!

Indeed, one of the best movies of Leo. Margot and Leo's acting are both outstanding.
It is a masterpiece with a captivating narrative, like all of Scorsese's works. And while it may be an exaggerated depiction of the life of a stockbroker, the film serves as a reminder of ethics and integrity in any profession.
It also highlights the importance of accountability and transparency in the financial world, as there are inevitably actions that bring consequences, and when you least expect it, you wake up with a glass of water in your face.
I agree, there is always good/bad in any profession.
