Guillermo Del Toro, junto a otros directores famosos del mundo del horror , dieron vida a una serie con 8 cuentos individuales de terror inspirados en cuentos de algunos escritores famosos como por ejemplo Lovecraft.

Las historias que nos presenta al estilo Cuentos de la cripta, no tienen conexión entre si, son historias distintas cada una con su toque pero todas tienen algo en común: Son del tipo paranormal y con toques de fantasía al puro estilo de los autores de los cuales se basó así que una vez descrita la premisa, adentrémonos en este gabinete de curiosidad mórbidas y monstruosas que estos personajes tienen para mostrarnos.

Guillermo Del Toro, along with other famous horror directors, brought to life a series with 8 individual horror tales inspired by stories from some famous writers such as for example Lovecraft.

The stories presented to us in the style of Tales from the Crypt, are not connected, they are different stories each with its own touch but all have something in common: They are of the paranormal type with touches of fantasy in the pure style of the authors on which they were based, so once the premise is described, let's delve into this cabinet of morbid and monstrous curiosities that these characters have to show us.

Un punto a favor de esta serie, desde mi perspectiva, es el que sean cuentos individuales llama mucho la atención y hace que no sea aburrida ya que no sabes con que te encontraras en el próximo capitulo. Al menos a mi, este estilo de series con capítulos no concatenados me encantan y vencen mi ansiedad por ver que sucede hasta el final.

La forma en que se presenta cada episodio me pegó duro en la infancia. Me recordó mucho a Cuentos de la cripta , donde un muñeco aterrador hacia una introducción a cada capitulo solo que en este caso, es el mismo Del Toro quien lo hace. Eso me encantó, retomó parte de la esencia de las series de antaño dándole ese toque de nostalgia para nosotros, los de la época de los 90/2000.

A point in favor of this series, from my perspective, is that they are individual stories that grab a lot of attention and make it not boring because you don't know what you will find in the next episode. At least for me, I love this style of series with non-consecutive chapters and they keep my anxiety at bay about what will happen until the end.

The way each episode is presented hit me hard in my childhood. It reminded me a lot of Tales from the Crypt, where a terrifying doll made an introduction to each chapter, only that in this case, it is Del Toro himself who does it. I loved that, it captured part of the essence of old series, giving it that nostalgic touch for us, those of the 90s/2000s era.

La serie tiene buenos efectos especiales y excelentes actores. La ambientación es extraña, con un aire de locura y sumamente sombrío, pesado, me sentí incómoda en todos los capítulos (En algunos mas que otros) pero esa es la idea ja,ja,ja. Se logró perfectamente hacer sentir extraño y asqueado al espectador.

Los monstruos que aparecen son bien al estilo Lovecraft. Extraños, grotescos y aterradores. De verdad que algunos me sacaron mas de un susto (Siempre me pongo en la piel de quien encarna los personajes perseguidos por dichas criaturas sacadas del infierno). La desesperación, el pavor, todo se plasma perfectamente en una mezcla bizarra de viscosidades, vísceras e historias de ultratumba. Si, la serie puede ser un poco bizarra pero es espectacularmente BIZZARA Y GROTESCA.

The series has good special effects and excellent actors. The setting is strange, with an air of madness and extremely gloomy, heavy, I felt uncomfortable in all the episodes (In some more than others) but that's the idea haha. They perfectly managed to make the viewer feel strange and disgusted.

The monsters that appear are very much in the Lovecraft style. Strange, grotesque, and terrifying. Some of them really gave me more than one fright (I always put myself in the shoes of those who embody the characters being pursued by these hellish creatures). The desperation, the terror, everything is perfectly reflected in a bizarre mix of goop, viscera, and ghostly stories. Yes, the series might be a little bizarre but it is spectacularly BIZARRE AND GROTESQUE.

Si me preguntan si la recomiendo , si, totalmente. Es tan extraña , mórbida y desagradable que es excelente ja,ja,ja. A los amantes del terror les gustará probar un sabor distinto dentro de este género lleno de sorpresas repugnantes que bailan al compás de estos 8 capítulos asquerosamente hermosos y aterradores con criaturas e historias sacadas de la mente mas enferma y retorcida.

Le doy 9/10 ¡Saludos!

If they ask me if I recommend it, yes, totally. It's so strange, morbid, and unpleasant that it's excellente ha,ha,ha. Horror lovers will enjoy trying a different taste within this genre full of disgusting surprises that dance to the rhythm of these 8 chapters disgustingly beautiful and terrifying with creatures and stories taken from the sickest and twisted mind.
