I loved THE SUBSTANCE!

La sustancia, una película que puede parecer muy extraña, bizarra y loca para muchos, sin embargo, siento que refleja perfectamente la realidad o al menos se asemeja muchísimo. Por fin pude ver esta película, realmente tenia mucha curiosidad de verla ya que siempre me salen anuncios de la misma, además de que gano un Oscar a mejor maquillaje y esta área me interesa muchísimo ya que me encantan los efectos especiales, la película me atrapo desde un principio y mientras fue avanzando me gustó mucho más.

The Substance, a movie that may seem very strange, bizarre and crazy to many, however, I feel that it perfectly reflects reality or at least it is very similar.
Finally I could see this movie, I was really curious to see it since I always get ads for it, plus it won an Oscar for best makeup and this area interests me a lot since I love special effects, the film caught me from the beginning and as it progressed I liked it much more.

No soy critica de cine, pero disfruto en comentar películas o series que me gustaron mucho, hoy la sustancia me inspira a hablar un poco sobre ella y como lo interpreto desde mi punto de vista. La película comienza mostrándonos la historia de Elisabeth Sparkle interpretada por la hermosa Demi moore, vemos como su vida llena de fama ya no es igual porque ha envejecido y ya no funciona para la industria, vemos comentarios horribles que escucha de la boca del asqueroso Harvey un ejecutivo de televisión bastante grotesco la verdad, este si podría decir que fue el único personaje que me dio mucho asco jajaja, pero… 100 puntos para el actor Dennis Quaid que me logro hacerme sentir muy incómoda, en fin, Elisabeth se encuentra en un momento de su vida realmente triste, su sueño se cae en mil pedazos y pronto será despedida para darle paso a otra chica mas joven, en medio del caos tiene un accidente en el cual por suerte salió ilesa pero desde ese momento recibe una invitación a probar LA SUSTANCIA.

I am not a movie critic, but I enjoy commenting on movies or series that I liked a lot, today the substance inspires me to talk a little about it and how I interpret it from my point of view. The movie starts showing us the story of Elisabeth Sparkle played by the beautiful Demi moore, we see how her life full of fame is no longer the same because she has aged and no longer works for the industry, we see horrible comments she hears from the mouth of the disgusting Harvey a television executive quite grotesque the truth, I could say HE was the only character that gave me much disgust hahaha, but.... 100 points for the actor Dennis Quaid who made me feel very uncomfortable, in short, Elisabeth is in a moment of her life really sad, her dream falls into a thousand pieces and soon she will be fired to make way for another younger girl, in the middle of the chaos she has an accident in which luckily she was unharmed but from that moment she receives an invitation to try THE SUBSTANCE.

Y es que… pensemos, si alguien que probo la fama no pudo resistirse a experimentar la sustancia ¿Que pasaría para alguien común y corriente como todos nosotros? El tiempo pasa y deja secuelas, o incluso a veces no estamos felices con nuestro físico, de alguna u otra forma siempre tenemos inseguridades, imagina tener la posibilidad de cambiar eso y crear una “mejor versión de ti” es tentador para cualquiera, pero cada decisión de esta magnitud puede ser un arma de doble filo, nunca puedes recibir sin dar nada a cambio y justo esto pasa en la sustancia. La inconformidad con nuestro cuerpo, ver el deterioro de el no es facil y siempre buscamos la manera de sentirnos bien, de llenar ese vacío y les puedo comparar perfectamente la sustancia con la vida real donde he visto casos de personas que comienzan con una cirugía y no pueden parar hasta borrar por completo lo que eran antes.

Let's think, if someone who tasted fame could not resist to experience the substance, what would happen to someone ordinary like all of us? Time passes and leaves sequels, or even sometimes we are not happy with our physique, in some way or another we always have insecurities, imagine having the possibility to change that and create a “better version of you” is tempting for anyone, but every decision of this magnitude can be a double-edged sword, you can never receive without giving anything in return and just this happens in the substance. The dissatisfaction with our body, seeing the deterioration of it is not easy and we always look for a way to feel good, to fill that void and I can perfectly compare the substance with real life where I have seen cases of people who start with a surgery and can not stop until completely erase what they were before.

Elisabeth decide dar el primer paso para continuar con su carrera y decide probar la sustancia, cuando explicaban el funcionamiento de la sustancia me imagine algo totalmente diferente a lo que vi en pantalla, pensé que su rostro se transformaría como si de magia se tratase, pero… No podía estar mas equivocada jajaja, literalmente “Su” sale del cuerpo de Elisabeth desde su espina dorsal, es maravillosa esta escena, me gusto muchísimo, es tan raro e interesante que realmente me dejo congelada. La cosa es que la mejor versión de Elisabeth “Su” ya está fuera y debe permanecer asi por 7 días, después de ese lapso debe intercambiar de nuevo con Elisabeth por 7 días más, nos explican que ambas son una sola, tienen la misma conciencia… Solo tenía que cumplir con todas esas reglas para evitar que saliera mal y todo se fuera al carajo, pero, como seres humanos a veces no sabemos detenernos, queremos mas y mas y poco a poco todo se va a hundir en esta historia.

Elisabeth decides to take the first step to continue with her career and decides to try the substance, when they explained how the substance works I imagined something totally different to what I saw on screen, I thought her face would transform as if it was magic, but... I couldn't be more wrong hahaha, literally “Su” comes out of Elisabeth's body from her spine, this scene is wonderful, I really liked it, it is so weird and interesting that it really left me frozen. The thing is that the best version of Elisabeth “Su” is already out and must remain that way for 7 days, after that time she must exchange again with Elisabeth for 7 more days, they explain to us that both are one, they have the same conscience... she just had to comply with all those rules to avoid it going wrong and everything going to hell, but, as human beings sometimes we do not know how to stop, we want more and more and little by little everything is going to sink in this story.

A partir de ahora veremos como Su se alza como una nueva estrella, y sinceramente, ella es hermosa, sensual y muy coqueta, me encanta Margaret Qualley, mientras tanto, Elisabeth sigue sintiéndose terrible, cuando vuelve a su realidad se da cuenta que el mundo sigue sin ella, esta completamente sola, insegura y cada vez sintiendo mas envidia por “Su”, sinceramente llegue a un punto donde me confundí y pensé que eran dos personas totalmente distintas, pero al final creo que interprete que efectivamente si eran la misma persona, solo que estaba peleando y luchando contra ella misma y esa versión de ella que no podía ser realmente, ella misma se llevo a la peor auto-destruccion que veremos en pantalla.

From now on we will see how Su rises as a new star, and honestly, she is beautiful, sensual and very flirtatious, I love Margaret Qualley, meanwhile, Elisabeth continues to feel terrible, when she returns to her reality she realizes that the world is still without her, she is completely alone, insecure and feeling more and more envious of “Su”, I honestly got to a point where I got confused and thought they were two totally different people, but in the end I think I interpreted that they were indeed the same person, only that she was fighting and struggling against herself and that version of her that could not be, she herself led to the worst self-destruction that we will see on screen.

Es una película que a veces refleja una comedia muy oscura pero tambien diferentes realidades, el mundo del espectáculo a veces es muy cruel, no aceptarnos a nosotros mismos y como la sociedad logra destruirnos con comentarios que solo pisotean nuestra autoestima, como los excesos nunca terminan bien y la obsesión por la belleza a veces puede ser mortal.

It is a film that sometimes reflects a very dark comedy but also different realities, the world of show business is sometimes very cruel, not accepting ourselves and how society manages to destroy us with comments that only trample our self-esteem, how excesses never end well and the obsession with beauty can sometimes be deadly.

A pesar de que di mucho spoiler y aun no has visto la película sinceramente te la recomiendo, si eres muy sensible puede que te afecte, pero a mi me pareció una película muy buena y con actuaciones espectaculares. Y además les quiero compartir la imagen de una de mis escenas favoritas, suena raro pero les juro que me rei mucho en esta parte, realmente el maquillaje fue excelente 10/10

Even though I gave a lot of spoilers and you still haven't seen the movie I sincerely recommend it, if you are very sensitive it may affect you, but I thought it was a very good movie with spectacular performances.
And also I want to share with you the image of one of my favorite scenes, it sounds weird but I swear I laughed a lot in this part, the makeup was really good 10/10
