La posesión de Verónica | Review y opinión [ESP-ENG]

Administrar el tiempo entre el trabajo y escribir acerca de una reseña para mí en estos momentos es un gran esfuerzo. He visto cantidades de pelis y cuando escribo es porque me gustó. No soy del grupo que expone lo poco valorativo de la proyección que le restan segundos a mi vida; por tanto, no expongo nada. Entonces, pensé que mi promedio de películas, sobre todo las del género terror, estaban bajas, así que decidí investigar y encontré esta obra interesante que detonó en mí la posibilidad de producir contenido. Revivir situaciones de experiencias que generen regulación de emociones a un nivel sorprendente me motivó a compartir la cinta, porque quería sensaciones de asombro y debatir entre la ciencia y lo paranormal. La cinta La posesión de Verónica toca esa fibra dramática y de terror al despertar temor y angustia que con el pasar del tiempo desaparece debido a la madurez cognitiva; sin embargo, logra la proyección, suprimir el nivel de conciencia para crear miedo. Aunque es un film del 2019, los efectos logran el cometido, porque el temor tocó a la puerta.

Es una película del director español Pasco Plaza, que construye para la pantalla un film basado en hechos reales ocurridos en los años 90 en España. Una chica interactúa junto a sus amigas con el tablero de una Güija y lo que empezó de manera explorativa termina despertando a entidades que amenazan a la familia. La cinta inicia para centrar el espectador en el evento a través de la llamada que solicita ayuda y al unísono la bocina de la policía que acude mientras los gritos notifican que ha ocurrido un evento desfavorable que trasmite sensación de preocupación e imaginación. El póster pintado de rojo y oscuridad contiene información de algo siniestro, tiene similitud a películas como: El exorcismo de Emily Rose o Cuando la maldad acecha, entre otras.

Managing time between work and writing about a review for me right now is a big effort. I've seen a lot of movies, and when I write it's because I liked it. I'm not one of the groups that exposes how little worthwhile screening takes seconds off my life; therefore, I don't expose anything. So, I thought that my average of films, especially those of the horror genre, were low, so I decided to investigate, and I found this interesting work that detonated in me the possibility of producing. Reliving situations of experiences that generate regulation of emotions at a surprising level motivated me to share the film, because I wanted feelings of amazement and debate between science and the paranormal. The film The Possession of Veronica touches that dramatic and terrifying fiber by awakening fear and anguish that, with the passing of time, disappears due to cognitive maturity; however, it achieves the projection, suppressing the level of consciousness to create fear. Although it is a 2019 film, the effects achieve the task, because fear knocked at the door.

It is a film by Spanish director Pasco Plaza, who builds for the screen a film based on real events that occurred in the 90s in Spain. A girl interacts with her friends with the board of a Ouija, and what began in an explorative way ends up awakening entities that threaten the family. The film begins to focus the viewer on the event through the call for help and, in unison, the police horn that comes while the screams notify that an unfavorable event has occurred, conveying a sense of concern and imagination. The poster painted in red and darkness contains information of something sinister; it has similarity to movies like: The Exorcism of Emily Rose or When Evil Lurks, among others.

La proyección La posesión de Verónica posee la trama demoníaca que se va develando según la secuencia para pensar en el final. Me gusta la evolución de la historia y el deterioro de la chica, excelente actuación de una joven tranquila, cariñosa y curiosa en querer conectar con alguien. Además, la escenografía recrea el ambiente de la época, es decir, te traslada a colores neutros, muebles de madera, paredes cubiertas de papel, tecnología novedosa para los jóvenes y la vestimenta holgada.

Las escenas de sorpresas provocaron sobresaltos, esto quiere que el objetivo de fundar miedo se cumplió. Las imágenes de transición entre el estado de presencia sin afectar la pureza de la persona, para luego la entidad tener el control de Verónica, desata imágenes de caos. Esto se puede ver en escenas violentas, de desesperación, de gritos y de posibles sueños alternos. Además, los diálogos están centrados en el tema de la Güija y una familia que está atravesando un quiebre emocional en tiempo de calidad. Los diálogos breves que emergen de la persona, quien tiene experiencia sobre lo paranormal, explica desde la "oscuridad" cómo deshacerse de la presencia demoníaca. Existe durante el rodaje pistas que explican la posesión, tomas que se aproximan a Verónica, demuestran tensión y sensación de peligro para el cinéfilo.

The projection The Possession of Veronica has a demonic plot that unravels according to the sequence in order to think about the ending. I like the evolution of the story and the deterioration of the girl—an excellent performance of a quiet, affectionate and curious young woman wanting to connect with that person. In addition, the scenery recreates the atmosphere of the time; that is, it takes you to neutral colors, wooden furniture, paper-covered walls, new technology for young people, and loose clothing.

The scenes of surprises provoked shocks, which means that the objective of creating fear was achieved. The images of transition between the state of presence without affecting the purity of the person and then the entity having control of Veronica unleash images of chaos. This can be seen in scenes of violence, despair, screams, and possible alternate dreams. In addition, the dialogues are centered on the theme of the pebble and a family going through an emotional breakdown in quality time. The brief dialogues that emerge from the person who has experience about the paranormal explain from the “darkness” how to get rid of the demonic presence. There are clues during the filming that explain the possession; shots that approach Veronica show tension and a sense of danger for the moviegoer.

Como es habitual en mi reseña, formulo la siguiente pregunta: ¿por qué debo ver La posesión de Verónica? Si te gusta el género de terror, paranormal y basado en hechos reales, es para ti, la combinación perfecta compuesta de giros para promover miedo y euforia. Por otra parte, los efectos especiales que tu cerebro no comprende, envían señales que seguro entenderás la posibilidad de tener temor, porque la sorpresa sonora y visual de las apariciones harán reactivar la reacción. Además, si te gusta debatir sobre aquello que no tiene explicación y la ciencia es tu herramienta, tienes la oportunidad de crear hipótesis sobre la creencia religiosa que explica el tema de la Güija.

As usual in my review, I ask the following question: why should I watch Veronica's Possession? If you like the horror genre—paranormal and based on true events, it is for you—a perfect combination composed of twists to promote fear and euphoria. On the other hand, the special effects that your brain does not understand send signals that you will surely understand the possibility of fear, because the sound and visual surprise of the apparitions will reactivate the reaction. In addition, if you like to debate about that which has no explanation and science is your tool, you have the opportunity to create hypotheses about the religious belief that explains the theme of the Ouija.
