It tells the story of a movie star. A thrill-seeker of sorts, with a lot of money, a lot of loneliness and few authentic things around him. Chris is unable to commit himself.
He has become accustomed to maintaining an image that he projects, forming a second nature.
Without giving anything away, the best that can be said about this film is that it dodges the cliché and what is to be expected from such a premise with considerable ease.
Certainly, Richard LaGravenese's film, a specialist in films of this kind, does not invent gunpowder. You don't need a master's degree to work out how it's going to end.

However, the focus is thankfully not on the daughter, played by a very charismatic and sympathetic Joey King, but on the mother.
There are not many films that focus on the sentimental and sexual lives of mature women, and even less so if their partner is a much younger man, and the truth is that the change is welcome.
Besides, what interests the director most is really the relationship between mother and daughter, and here both Kathy Bates (as Brooke's mother-in-law and Zara's grandmother) and Nicole Kidman do a wonderful job.
The Aussie is here to have a good time, and by enjoying herself she makes the audience enjoy herself. Also, contrary to what has been said, she does have good chemistry with a Zac Efron who has the less interesting character, but is perfect for it.
However, we must admit that the health problems he has had on this occasion do affect his expression at times. It's a shame, because at other times he's funny and engaging.
All in all, an inoffensive romantic comedy, nothing special, of course, but acceptable for a fun and enjoyable time.
