The story centres on Jaq and Shane, played respectively by Hayden Panettiere and Tyler James Williams. Jaq has requested an Uber but the driver, tired of waiting, has taken off, to which Shane arrives with his vehicle who has just finished his shift but Jaq convinces him to take her to her appointment.

At the same time we have seen that there is a son of a bad mother who kidnaps girls, we don't know for what purpose but he has just kidnapped little Charlotte.

The authorities issue an amber alert, which seems to be a communication to the citizens' mobile phones, and it is then that a car similar to the kidnapper's car crosses our protagonists who are forced to follow him.

Kerry Bellesa dares to redeem his 2012 film and turns this remake into one with a more measured and meaningful feel and two more intimate characters, it's a fun thriller and manages to make some moments more in line with what came before.

The chemistry between the two performers on screen allows us to relate and sympathise with both characters, and as both characters are given really interesting motivations, it makes everything more impactful in the decisions they make.

This is especially true when there is a sense of belonging. The same goes for the secondary characters, who are more present in the plot and interact more, which also makes the film's narrative more intense.

Of course, the film also has flaws in some decisions that make it feel like everything was done more correctly and without trying to surprise anyone, a detail that also means that the villains in this film feel softer than those in the original.

So you have to consider that its final climax is decidedly lacking in energy, negating the impact of its denouement, though it does have some new twists that make the little psychological games fun.

It's well directed, the cast is up to the task and the story is effective, it could have dared to be more consistent, sure, but erring on the side of caution isn't bad either, as this film is a great hobby to have You enjoy the thriller and its great moments of suspense acceptably and without major distractions.
