Axcellerator (2019)

This is a science fiction and fantasy film directed by David Giancola known for having debuted in 1993 with a film that is considered a cult film called Time Chasers which was digitally re-released in 2020.

He also participated in the script of the same along with Mike Ford and Joe Brady, for both of them it was their start in the role.

The plot revolves around a scientific discovery capable of teleporting people to the place you want, which bears the name of the film, this tries to be stolen by a senior official of a government agency and the protagonist named Dane, son of a car thief encounters the scientist when stealing a vehicle.

There the adventure begins for him as they are chased and when it seems that they will be caught the scientist gives him the device to activate it and he is transported from Miami to his apartment in New York.

There he finds that his landlord demands the claim of months of overdue rent and to escape from him he activates the device again which takes him on a quick round trip to Arizona and by chance he returns with a young woman named Kate.

Confusion ensues as the chase has unknowingly continued and when he tries to use it again it doesn't work and the entanglement becomes greater.

The youngsters must manage to avoid being captured by Brink, a psychopath hired to retrieve the invention.

Ryan Wesen and Laura James play the young persecuted, for the former it is his second film after having participated in 2016 in Time to Pay Off Debts, while she rose to fame after winning cycle 19 of America's Next Top Model and has worked in several film productions.

Also on the good guys side is Sean Young as Amanda Graham who represents the positive side of a government agency, she is known for her role as a replicant in 1982's Blade Runner and on the bad guys side is veteran Sam Jones who plays Brink.

The film was released in May 2019 and received positive reviews.
