Ivorian director Philippe Lacôte brings us his adaptation of Jo Nesbo's story and does it well without big additions, creating a film that gets the job done without breaking records this year.
The film aims to give us the tension and mystery in the right way, without overdoing it, easy to read and the end result is also very interesting, a lot depends on the director knowing how to place the camera and how to do it to make the viewer part of everything that is going on.
The good direction makes us feel at times as if we were watching one of the film noirs of Hollywood's golden years, though of course without the glamour and success of those. But the intention shows in the director's personality.

The cast is well done, especially Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley, who give their all to their characters and are really top-notch when it comes to the writing, which is evident in both performances.
Not that it's the best performance from either, but at least they bring us back to a detective story with a complex and mysterious woman.
The supporting cast also contribute, but nothing outstanding. It's an interesting ride that has moments of success and moments of losing momentum.
The haunting landscapes of Greece, along with the images and soundtrack, add to Philippe Lacôte's direction, allowing us to create a film that lives up to the expectations the script was intended to convey.
This weekend's offering from Prime Video is a little dark but doesn't reach the heights of the genre that has brought us great films. However, there are moments that will make you spend an enjoyable time in front of the TV this weekend.
