The Wild Robot (2024)

If The Wild Robot has any crime, it is that of excessive naivety: the surprising thing about 2024 is that in this year you can still see films about small forest animals talking, learning from each other and fighting alongside the aggressor, but a film can create alchemy and effectiveness and overcome cheap stereotypes.
And in fact it works better than expected, thanks to the more black humour than usual in films of this style, to not being afraid of what people will say and to talking openly about death and motherhood with crude, more biting and frightening sentences than expected
And I must say that all this, from an adult's point of view, inevitably provokes laughter in the form of a little guilt.
But DreamWorks' latest project pushes boundaries and surprises by being more than just friends in the woods: now there's a robot too.

It infuses everyone with a unique sensibility that considers not only mother-child relationships and friendships, but above all the importance of finding your place, a place where you feel accepted and loved, where you feel and express love without expecting anything in return. . by licking your wounds until they heal.
‘The Wild Robot recognises that we've all felt orphaned in a place we can relate to, and knows how to push the right buttons to narrowly avoid clichés and ending in tears.
We expect nothing less from Chris Sanders, his experienced hand knows exactly how to guide us through this seemingly cruel but incredibly sensitive world, where a robot can experience emotions, a goose learns to behave thoughtfully in spite of itself and a fox can be loved by those who least expect it.
‘The Wild Robot also has a dark sense of humour that adds to the fun of the plot, largely thanks to the excellent main character, both in terms of magnetic personality and design,
Be captivated by a story full of good intentions and timeless visual beauty. At a time when it seems that everything already exists, has been invented and told, a film comes out that brings us a strong message, emphasising that we should always hope for the meaning of being kind and caring.
This film repeatedly rescues several positive values: love, caring, communication, loyalty, kindness, etc.
There aren't many of those values these days, and an animated film hasn't particularly impressed me since Toy Story 3.
