The film follows Almus and Tobias ‘ 10-year relationship at different stages of their lives, with some well-integrated time jumps , happy and sad moments, managing to have just the right tone to entertain and thrill, without being excessive in either aspect.

I was hooked by this film from the very first moment and had a great time thanks to this melodrama with a classic tone (a genre I 'm not always a fan of ).

There are some memorable scenes (especially the gas station scene)although perhaps some scenes could have been cut at the end.

Technically it's a pretty good film , with a soundtrack composed by Bryce Dessner that is perfect for this kind of story, a great script by Nick Payne and a great editing that takes us through the different stages of the decade.

Both Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield are believable and their performances evolve and change to suit each moment they live.

I understand that this film is not recommended for all viewers, because romance is a genre that has many detractors but also has many defenders who like films that convey joy and enthusiasm for getting on with life.

The best thing is the naturalness of the storytelling and the realistic acting of the main characters, and the worst thing is some scenes at the end that go on too long.

In short, a dramatic story with a lot of romance, a grateful touch of humour, a lot of tenderness and family affection.

This film closed the still recent Donostia/San Sebastian Film Festival 2024.

Very appropriate your review of this romantic film, where you ponder its components, giving them the value they have in cinematographic terms. Greetings, @andreseloy581.
