This romantic-drama film directed by Paul McGuigan and released in 2004, is a remake of the French film "L'Appartement".

The plot centres on Matthew, played by Josh Hartnett, who becomes obsessed with finding his former love, Lisa, played by Diane Kruger.

However, Lisa mysteriously disappeared two years ago when he offered to move to New York together, leaving Matthew devastated and determined to find out what happened to her.

Suddenly, one day, he sees someone in a bar who could be her, and from that moment he begins a convoluted and obsessive search.

As Matthew investigates, he becomes embroiled in a web of deception and complicated relationships.

The story jumps back and forth in time and shuffles the points of view of the main characters. What Matt uncovers makes it all a great mystery and the truth is even harder than before.

The ending is unexpected and although it seems predictable it shows us details that go unnoticed.

The film explores themes of love, betrayal and the destructive power of obsession.

While some viewers find the plot intriguing, others find it confusing and full of unnecessary twists and turns.
