Poor Things: Wonderfully uncomfortable?
SourceHola querida comunidad cinéfila de Hive, espero se encuentren muy bien en temporada de cortes eléctricos donde vivo siempre es un placer ver películas o series que me llenen o den un aprendizaje (por lo menos que me entretenga) por ello quería verme una película muy sonada a finales de año, estoy hablando Poor Things o en español Pobre Criaturas.
This movie has almost two and a half hours of filming and has wonderful performances among them are: Emma Stone (Bella Baxter), Mark Ruffalo (Ducan Wedderburn), Willem Dafoe (Godwin Baxter), Ramy Youssef (Max Candless) among other actors directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. The story is about a girl who tried to commit suicide, but a scientist who thinks he is "God" changes her brain to that of a newborn baby (which is his own son).
Esta película llega a contar con casi dos horas y media de filmación y cuenta con maravillosas actuaciones entre ellas son: Emma Stone (Bella Baxter), Mark Ruffalo (Ducan Wedderburn), Willem Dafoe (Godwin Baxter), Ramy Youssef (Max Candless) entre otos actores dirigida por Yorgos Lanthimos. La historia trata de una muchacha la cual se intentó suicidar, pero un científico que se creé “Dios” le cambia el cerebro por la de un recién nacido (el cual es su propio hijo).
SourceWell actually I wasn't very excited to see it a long time ago despite the boom because I was scared of its weirdness, the simple sometimes in terms of entertaining is more comfortable to watch so it was not among my plans, starting the film actually I found interesting the theme of the colors used and most of all the dialogues, the one who performed the operation calls himself God but in reality does not get to be the God of Bella? Creating a helpless creature defying nature because in one part of the film you see a pig with the body of a chicken, WTF? But that's what makes this movie interesting it's wonderfully uncomfortable.
Bueno en realidad no estaba muy animalada de verla hace tiempo a pesar del bum porque me asustaba su rareza, lo simple a veces en términos de entretener es más cómodo para ver por eso no estaba entre mis planes, comenzando la película en realidad me pareció interesante el tema de los colores que se usaban y más que todo los diálogos, el que realizo la operación se hace llamar Dios pero en realidad ¿no llega a ser el Dios de Bella? Crear una criatura indefensa desafiando a la naturaleza porque en una parte de la filmación veos un cochino con cuerpo de gallina o sea ¿WTF? Pero eso es lo que hace interesante esta película es maravillosamente incómoda.
We have a girl as a blank canvas, she as God said "Her mental age and her body are not in sync" so Bella is someone who is about to discover herself and the world, so in my opinion the fragments are very well divided not only by location but by her stage of growth, at the beginning we have someone who is like a little girl who is just starting to talk, but she is also discovering the morbid pleasures of sexual self-discovery, because even though her brain is growing her body is that of a mature woman, which at no time does the film demonizes it or makes it look bad, in a certain way it exalts it.
Tenemos a una muchacha como un lienzo en blanco, ella como dijo God “Su edad mental y su cuerpo no están sincronizados” por eso Bella es alguien quien está a punto de auto descubrirse y descubrir al mundo, por ello a mi opinión persona está muy bien dividido los fragmentos no solo por localizaciones si no por la etapa de crecimiento de ella, al principio tenemos alguien que es como una niña que apenas está comenzando hablar peor también está descubriendo los placeres morbosos del autodescubrimiento sexual, porque a pesar de que su cerebro está en crecimiento su cuerpo es de una mujer madura cosa que en ningún momento la película lo sataniza o lo hace ver mal de cierta manera lo enaltece.
SourceBella as a character seems to me quite complex, Emma Stone is a great actress and certainly played very well the role of a person who does not know what she is doing besides going through complex circumstances and feelings, as the film goes by the character construction is completed having at the end a woman who made mistakes but is a person who is integrated into society in her own way without taboos and with her own criteria.
Bella como personaje me parece bastante complejo, Emma Stone es una gran actriz y sin duda interpreto muy bien el papel de una persona que no sabe lo que está haciendo además de ir atravesaño circunstancias y sentimientos complejos, a medida que va pasando la película la construcción de personaje se va completando teniendo al final una mujer que cometió errores pero que es una persona que se integró a la sociedad a su manera sin tabúes y con criterio propio.
Talking about the other two characters that he considered relevant in the story we have God, Bella's creator, he really scared me at the beginning of the movie but in the end he is a character with personality that doesn't pull God for the convenience of the script, His father never showed him any kind of affection instead he hurt him many times physically for the "good of science" that's why he doesn't know how to handle Bella's feelings letting her leave and have free will in her decisions even though he also misses her, on the other hand we have Ducan Wedderburn this man was her door to color, since he began to show her the world without a doubt I hate him hahahaha he is a pretty misogynist character and even though he has relevance he is not to my liking.
Hablando de los otros dos personajes que consideró relevantes en la historia tenemos a God el creador de Bella, él la verdad me dio miedito a principio de la película pero al final es un personaje con personalidad que no se la tira de Dios por conveniencia del Guion, su padre nunca le mostro algún tipo de afecto en vez de ello lo lastimo muchas veces físicamente por el “bien de la ciencia” por ello no sabe manejar los sentimientos de Bella dejándola partir y que tenga libre albedrio en sus decisiones a pesar de que también la extraña, por otro lado tenemos a Ducan Wedderburn este hombre fue su puerta al color, ya que le comenzó a muestra el mundo sin duda lo odie jajaj es un personaje bastante misógino y a pesar de que tiene relevancia no es de mi agrado.
SourceA pesar de todo, no es de color de rosas. Sin duda algo que peca esta película es que es lenta y a veces pesada y repetitiva un ejemplo en las escenas de sexo de Bella, entiendo que es una parte importante en el descubrimiento de un individuo y no lo toma como tabu pero que me muestren como diez escenas de ella, en la misma posición con la misma cara pues me llego aburrir y cansar pero no al nivel de querer quitar la película.
Despite everything, it is not rosy. Undoubtedly something that makes this film is that it is slow and sometimes heavy and repetitive an example in the sex scenes of Bella, I understand that it is an important part in the discovery of an individual and does not take it as taboo but that they show me about ten scenes of her, in the same position with the same face because I got bored and tired but not to the level of wanting to remove the film.
Undoubtedly, Poor Creatures is a film without taboo that has complex messages as a fairly novel protagonist, at the artistic level I loved it and certainly if it would be a film that I would recommend to someone who wants to see a wonderful movie but not to people with closed minds because if it would be a tato uncomfortable, then 9/10.
Sin duda, Pobres Criaturas es una película sin tabú que tiene mensajes complejos como una protagonista bastante novedosa, a nivel artístico me encanto y sin duda si sería una película que recomendaría a alguien que quiera ver una película maravillosa pero no a las personas con mentes cerradas por que si sería un tato incomoda, entonces 9/10.
