THE LOST CITY // LA CIUDAD PERDIDA (En - Es)
The weekend comes and I dedicate myself to look for good options on TV to distract me. A few days ago, while checking my Netflix subscription, I realized that I had saved in my favorites list, a movie not only recommended by friends, but that it appeared in my account options. It is "La ciudad perdida", a title it carries in Latin countries but its name in the USA is, "The lost city".
The lost city is a film that can be categorized between action, adventure, romance and comedy, it has all these characteristics at the same time. This movie is set in the year 2022, and stars one of my favorite actresses, Sandra Bullock, along with the beautiful and talented actor Channing Tatum, and a very special cast made up of the protagonist of the Harry Potter saga, Daniel Radcliffe, and where the famous actor Brad Pitt also makes a brief appearance. They along with other excellent actors give a very funny context to this production that was filmed in the Dominican Republic.
REVIEW OF THE LOST CITY
The film is about the adventure lived by a novel writer on a hidden island, where a civilization inhabited in ancient times, and where she had to go when she was kidnapped by an ambitious millionaire.
But let's give you the outline of this story from the beginning so you can understand it better. Loretta (Sandra Bullock), was a famous writer who had been widowed, and her husband was an archaeologist who had taken her to see many sites throughout his work travels.
For this reason, she, through her knowledge of ancient civilizations and lost places, began to write a novel based on that lost city.
In her thoughts she gave shape to the protagonist, and saw herself reflected by his side living the magical adventure.
To promote his novel, his agent suggested that he bring the character to life using the image of a professional model as part of the promotion.
So Alan (Channing Tatum), posed for the cover of Loretta's novel, and also had to attend her interviews with the press. Until an ambitious and deranged millionaire, decided to kidnap her to help him get the lost city and in it, an antique piece that he supposed would give him a greater fortune.
Alan sought out a friend to help him free Loretta, (Brad Pitt), and when she was finally released, the kidnappers murdered the friend.
So Alan and Loretta had to go into the jungle to find their way out, while the kidnappers followed their trail.
On the journey, by river and land, Loretta managed to find the place the millionaire was looking for, but they continued on their way until they reached a town where they were able to report the kidnapping and the criminals, but before returning home, the kidnappers took Loretta again.
Alan went after them, and they caught him too. In this way they led the millionaire to the tomb of the kings where it was supposed to be the crown that he coveted, but it turned out to be a kind of wig made with shells that his beloved was giving him.
Loretta told them that for desecrating the tomb there could be problems, and at that moment the volcano that was next to the tomb began to erupt, setting fire to the island, the tomb and everything around it.
Loretta and Alan were buried alive in the tomb of the kings, but one of the kidnappers left the lever inside, and they were able to open it.
By that time there was nowhere to get out, and they had to dive into the sea. When they got out to the other side, their friend and representative came to their rescue in a rented yacht, but on board was the millionaire who had been shipwrecked further back, without knowing that he was the kidnapper.
The end of this interesting adventure you will have to find out for yourselves. This movie kept me always attentive to its development and outcome.I recommend it as an option for this weekend. Happy Saturday.
Llega el fin de semana y me dedico a buscar buenas opciones en la Tv para distraerme. Días atrás revisando la suscripción de Netflix me di cuenta que había guardado en mi lista de favoritas, una película no sólo recomendada por amigos, sino que me apareció en las opciones de la cuenta. Se trata de “La ciudad perdida”, título que lleva en los países latinos pero su nombre en USA es, “The lost city”.
La ciudad perdida es un film que se puede categorizar entre acción, aventura, romance y comedia, posee todas estas características a la vez. Esta película data del año 2022, y está protagonizada por una de mis actrices favoritas, Sandra Bullock, junto al guapísimo y talentoso actor Channing Tatum, y un reparto muy especial conformado por el protagonista de la saga de Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe, y donde también hace una breve aparición el famoso actor Brad Pitt. Ellos junto a otros excelentes actores le dan un contexto muy divertido a esta producción que fue grabada en República Dominicana.
RESEÑA DE LA CIUDAD PERDIDA
El film trata de la aventura vivida por una escritora de novelas en una isla escondida, donde habitó en tiempos remotos una civilización, y a la que tuvo que ir al ser secuestrada por un millonario ambicioso.
Pero vamos a darles la reseña de esta historia desde su inicio para que la entiendan mejor. Loretta (Sandra Bullock), era una escritora famosa que había quedado viuda, y su esposo era un arqueólogo que la había llevado a conocer muchos sitios a lo largo de sus viajes de trabajo.
Por esta razón, ella a través de sus conocimientos acerca de civilizaciones antiguas, y lugares perdidos, comenzó a escribir una novela basada en esa ciudad perdida.
En sus pensamientos le daba forma al protagonista, y se veía reflejada a su lado viviendo la mágica aventura.
Para promocionar su novela, su representante sugirió que le diera vida al personaje usando como parte de la promoción la imagen de un modelo profesional.
Fue así como Alan (Channing Tatum), posó para la portada de la novela de Loretta, y también tuvo que asistir a sus entrevistas con la prensa. Hasta que un millonario ambicioso y trastornado, decidió secuestrarla para que lo ayudara a conseguir la ciudad perdida y en ella, una pieza antigua que él suponía le daría una fortuna mayor.
Alan buscó a un amigo para que lo ayudara a liberar a Loretta, (Brad Pitt), y cuando por fin la liberaron, los secuestradores asesinaron al amigo.
De esa manera Alan y Loretta se tuvieron que internar en la selva buscando la manera de salir, mientras los secuestradores seguían su rastro.
En la travesía, por río y tierra, Loretta logró encontrar el lugar que buscaba el millonario, pero siguieron su camino hasta llegar a un pueblo donde pudieron denunciar el secuestro y a los delincuentes, pero antes de regresar a su casa, los secuestradores se llevaron de nuevo a Loretta.
Alan fue tras ellos, y lo agarraron también. De esa manera condujeron al millonario hasta la tumba de los reyes donde se suponía que estaba la corona que ambicionaba, pero resultó ser una especie de peluca elaborada con caracolas que su amado le fue regalando.
Loretta les comunicó que por profanar la tumba podía haber problemas, y en ese momento el volcán que estaba al lado de la tumba comenzó a erupcionar, incendiando la isla, la tumba y todo lo que había a su alrededor.
Loretta y Alan fueron sepultados vivos en la tumba de los reyes, pero uno de los secuestradores dejó la palanca dentro, y pudieron abrirla.
Para ese momento no había por dónde salir, y tuvieron que sumergirse en el mar. Al salir hacia otro lado, venía en su rescate su amiga y representante en un yate rentado, pero a bordo llevaba al millonario que había naufragado más atrás, sin saber qué él era el secuestrador.
El final de esta interesante aventura lo tendrán que averiguar ustedes mismos. Esta película me mantuvo siempre atenta a su desarrollo y desenlace. Se las recomiendo como opción para este fin de semana. Feliz sábado.

Tuve la oportunidad de ver esta película y es muy divertida, Sandra Bullock brilla definitivamente por su actuación, me sorprendió bastante ver a Brad Pitt y a Channing Tatum haciendo un rol comico tambien, es entretenida y nos muestra un cara diferente de sus actores. Aunque a mí el villano no me gustó lo percibí muy sobre actuado, Saludos
Ella siempre le brinda a las películas una gracia natural, sus gestos y ocurrencias nos hacen reír, aunque también ha realizado películas serias muy buenas, pero me sigo quedando con sus papeles como comediante. Me sorprendió ver a Brad Pitt en un papel secundario, y más aun que durara tan poco. Y comparto tu opinión, el hermoso Harry Potter como villano tampoco me convenció. Pero disfruté mucho la película, eso sí. :)
