Today I want to review a very exciting film with the title MEG 2 The Trench. This is a film that tells the story of a battle between humans and a giant shark called Megalodon, but in this great film it is also about two groups of people who have different opinions about the sea, one group wants to protect the sea and the other group wants to destroy the beauty of the sea.

This film was directed by Ben Wheatley and stars Jason Statham, Wu Jing, Sophia Chai and other great actors, this film received a score of 5.2 from the IMDB site.

65 million years ago, precisely in the Cretaceous era, at that time the earth was still inhabited by ancient animals, we were shown a group of giant lizards looking for food on the beach, then dinosaurs came who wanted to eat the giant lizards until they ran into the sea.

When the Dinosaur was eating the lizards, suddenly a giant Megalodon Shark emerged from the sea and immediately pounced on the Dinosaur into its mouth.

Then the film moves to 2023 set in the Philippine sea, Jonas Taylor has now joined the Zang family's marine institute which is investigating a ship carrying toxic waste that will be dumped into the sea illegally.

However, when Jonas was taking photos as evidence, his position was discovered by the ship's crew, which made him have to fight there to save himself, until finally Jonas was forced to jump into the sea to save himself because he was no longer able to fight with the many crew members there.

Luckily, Jonas' two friends, Mag and Rigas, were already on standby with the plane. Jonas was immediately pulled by his friend on the plane until the three of them managed to return to the airport safely, and Jonas immediately gave Mag the memory card as proof of the illegal act.

Then the film moves to the offices of the Hainan Ocean Institute of China. The director of the company, Jiuming Zhang, was testing the diving costume he made, after which Meiying came who wanted to remind her uncle not to forget to come to the company's 10th anniversary.

That evening the birthday party was held, Jonas and Mac attended the grand event, then they both saw a suspicious man there named Montez. A billionaire who funded the company then greeted the invited guests from the stage, a woman named Hillary Driscoll.

After giving opening remarks, Hillary asked the Director of the Chinese Maritime Institute, Jiuming Zhang, to come up on stage. In his speech, Jiuming told about his family. It turned out that Jiuming was the first child of Dr. Zhang and Suyin's older brother.

Dr Zhang is the owner of the Mana One underwater laboratory who is shown being eaten by a Megalodon shark in the film The Meg 1. Meanwhile, Suyin also died not long after they succeeded in conquering it in the first film.

Now Jiuming Zhang wants to continue his family's determination to research the Mariana Trench. In commemoration of his 10th birthday that night, Jiuming introduced the Megalodon shark named Haiki to the invited guests who were in the giant aquarium. He had cared for this shark since he was small and would use it as research material.

Then Mac also asked the invited guests to applaud Jonas for saving Mana One and the underwater ecosystem. The next day Meiying asked Jonas to go with the Mana One group to explore the Mariana Trench.

However, Jonas refused Meiying's request because the mission would be very dangerous for a small child like him. Then in the giant aquarium with Haiki's side, Jiuming is now shown in the aquarium.

Jiuming wants to train his pet Megalodon, which surprises Jonas and Meiying. And suddenly the Megalodon Shark came towards Jiuming, with the tools in Jiuming's hands the Shark finally obeyed his orders.

Then the second time the shark really wanted to eat Jiuming, when Jiuming turned on the device in his hand the shark no longer obeyed him. This incident made Jonas and Meiying very shocked.

Then it was shown that Jiuming managed to survive the Megalodon attack, Jonas reminded Jiuming not to do that again because the Megalodon was really very brutal and dangerous.

Then Jiuming showed the sophisticated diving suit he had made to Meiying. He said that by wearing this diving suit they could dive to any depth in the sea.

After that, they went to the Mana One Laboratory, on the other side, the Megalodon showed Jiuming coming out of its cage and entering the open sea.

The next day they dived into the Mariana Trench to explore the deep ocean further, they used 2 submarines, the first ship was captained by Jonas, Rigas and Sal, while the second ship was filled by Jiuming, Curtis and Lance.

At the Mana One station, Mac, DJ, and Jess always control Jonas and his friends' journey through the Mariana Trench. In the middle of the journey, Jonas and his friends were surprised by the presence of Meiying who infiltrated their ship.

Jonas immediately asked all his colleagues to return to land, then there was a little debate between Jonas and Meiying, and in the end Jonas allowed Meiying to come with them because all the equipment they brought was able to protect all of them, including Meiying.

Not long after, Megalodon Haiki passed in front of them, then they immediately went through Termoklain to enter the Mariana Trench to avoid the megalodon attack.

Then they immediately turned on the anti-predator sonar on their submarine. Not long after, they were surprised by the appearance of 2 larger Megalodon sharks that they had never seen before.

Finally they changed their route and decided to follow the Megalodon Shark. From the radar they could see Megalodon Haiki 400 meters in front of them.

Not long after, they saw Megalodon Haiki with 2 other Megalodons. It turned out that currently it was Megalodon mating season, so Megalodon Haiki's behavior changed.

A few moments later, Jonas and the others detected that there was a seabed station below them. It turned out that the person inside the seabed station was Montez. Montez and 2 of his men are installing explosives in the coral reef.

Knowing that the Mana One Team, namely Jonas, Jiuming and others, were in the submarine, Montez blew up the coral reef so that they could die in the Mariana Trench.

After the coral reef exploded, Jonas and the others were immediately trapped in the rubble of the coral reef at the bottom of the sea. Knowing this, Mac and his friends at the Mana One Laboratory immediately rushed to help Jonas and the others.

When Mac and his friends wanted to save Jonas and the others, they suddenly saw that their Rescue submarine had been damaged because it had been sabotaged by someone.

Jonas, Jiuming and the others were forced to wear diving suits made by Jiuming to walk on the seabed to get to the underwater station. During that trip, two of their colleagues died because they were attacked by the Megalodon Shark.

After successfully entering the seabed station, Montes quickly locked them in a room, then Montez filled the room with water to kill Jonas and the others there.

In the room there was a monitor, and finally they found out that the one who trapped them there was Hillary the Billionaire who funded Mana One, the reason the Billionaire wanted to kill Jiuming, Jonas and the rest of the Mana One Team was because he wanted to control Mana One alone and will make the sea a coffer of money with various illegal things.

Knowing that they had been betrayed, Jonas immediately went out through one of the doors filled with water to enter the main room to open the locked door from the outside before the oxygen there ran out.

Then Jonas met Montez which resulted in a fierce fight that was inevitable. After successfully seeing Montez, Jonas immediately opened the door and they immediately left.

After that, they immediately boarded the submarine at the seabed station to rise to the surface. On the other hand, Hillary has sent mercenaries to kill all the remaining crew at the Mana One Laboratory.

Luckily, Jonas, Jiuming and the others arrived on time at Mana One Station and managed to save Mac, Dj and Jass there. Then Jonas and his friends fled Mana One using a rowed boat to avoid being attacked by Megalodon.

Not long after, the mercenaries chased them in a sloop, hearing the sloop's very noisy engine made Megalodon provoked and immediately pounced on the boat along with all the mercenaries in it.

And what's even worse is that there is a giant octopus that has come out of the Mariana Trench to roam the open sea. Seeing that the mercenaries had been eaten by Megalodon sharks, Jonas and his friends immediately started the lifeboat engine to quickly get away from there.

On the way, Jonas made a weapon to kill Megalodon, while Jiuming said that in front of them there was an island called Fun Island, and most likely Megalodon would go there because on that island there were lots of visitors bathing on the beach.

When they arrived on the island, Jonas and Jiuming told all the visitors to the island to immediately go ashore because Megalodon Sharks would be coming there soon, but no one listened to Jonas and Jiuming's advice.

It shows a man proposing to his girlfriend on a boat, when he picks up his ring which suddenly falls when he wants to put the ring on his girlfriend, his girlfriend has disappeared from the boat.

It turns out that his lover had fallen into the sea because he was eaten by a giant octopus. Hillary and the mercenaries have also arrived on the island by helicopter.

Suddenly they met giant ancient lizards, and the mercenaries did not remain silent and immediately shot at the very wild ancient lizards, causing the island visitors to panic because they heard the sound of gunshots.

A few moments later the 3 Megalodons immediately took action and ate the beach visitors. Then Jonas immediately got on a jet ski to kill Megalodon, while Jiuming and Mac went to a warehouse to make bombs using chemicals.

Hillary, who was sitting on a helicopter that had landed, was suddenly attacked by an ancient lizard, killing her. And while they were taking some chemicals, Jiuming and Mac were caught by the mercenaries.

DJ and Rigas who were outside the room were running because they were being chased by ancient lizards, and they entered the warehouse where Jiuming, Mac and the hired soldiers were. Then Jiuming immediately opened the front door so that the mercenaries could be attacked by the ancient lizards and they could run away.

As soon as they came out of the warehouse, it was shown that the warehouse had exploded. When they wanted to take a helicopter, Jiuming and Mac saw the ancient lizard roaming there, so they divided the task of diverting the ancient lizard.

After successfully killing several ancient lizards, they immediately boarded a helicopter to go to the beach. Then the scene switches to Jonas who managed to kill 1 Megalodon using the weapon he made.

When they arrived at the beach, the helicopter that Mac and Jiuming were flying in was caught by a giant octopus because it was flying too low, and they both survived because they jumped into the sea from the helicopter.

Jonas, who was stranded on the coast, wanted to be attacked by another Megalodon, but he managed to paralyze the Megalodon using helicopter propeller debris by sticking it in the Megalodon Shark's mouth.

Then it is shown that Jiuming is being attacked by a giant octopus. When Jiuming is almost dead, suddenly a megalodon approaches Jiuming and bites the giant octopus. It turns out that the megalodon is Haiki, namely the megalodon that is kept by Jiuming.

After the giant octopus died, Jiuming immediately swam to the beach to meet his friends. While resting after fighting with these vicious animals, they are now enjoying the beauty of the beach together. They also joked that Megalodon Haiki might be pregnant at the moment.
