Antes de partir, a film for reflexion (EN-ES)

A cordial greeting to the cinephile friends who make life in this community. I hope you are doing very well, enjoying a few days of rest and enjoyment, with abundant health and well-being with your loved ones.

Yesterday we shared a good plan as a family. We gathered at my daughter's house for a relaxing time that included a movie and some delicious hot dogs.

In our search through the streaming platforms, we found in Max the movie Before we go or The Bucket List, its English title. Although it is not a recent movie, it is from 2007, it caught our attention and we decided to let it run to see if it exceeded the fifteen minutes, which we have agreed as a family, to continue watching a movie or to stop it and look for another one. As you can see, we liked the movie and watched it to the end.

Before we go is a touching film that takes us by the hand to experience a roller coaster of emotions, together with its two main characters. The plot tells the story of two men who meet in a hospital room. The only thing they have in common is the same diagnosis: a terminal illness whose days are numbered.

One of the main characters is Carter Chambers, played by Morgan Freeman, a very intelligent man, dedicated to his family, hardworking and very humble, who has not been able to achieve everything he wanted in his life. The other protagonist of this story is Edward Cole, played by Jack Nicholson, who is the opposite of Carter, a rich man, bitter, has no family and has lived all his life to make money, leaving aside more valuable aspects.

In addition to their illness, they share a wish list that they are determined to fulfill together, and thus make the most of what little time they have left to live.

So they decide to put everything that ails them on hold and set out on a journey, thanks to Edward's financial possibilities, full of adventures and with different destinations. They take risks that were previously unthinkable or that could only be unrealistic dreams, such as parachuting, for example. They venture to visit the most impressive places in the world such as the Taj Mahal and live their last days to the fullest.

Un saludo cordial para los amigos cinéfilos que hacen vida en esta comunidad. Espero que se encuentren muy bien, disfrutando de unos días de descanso y regocijo, con abundante salud y bienestar al lado de sus seres queridos.

Ayer compartimos un buen plan en familia. Nos reunimos en casa de mi hija para pasar un rato de esparcimiento que incluía película y unos deliciosos perros calientes.

En nuestra búsqueda por las plataformas de streaming, encontramos en Max la película Antes de partir o The Bucket List, su título en inglés. Aunque no es una película reciente, es del año 2007, nos llamó la atención y decidimos dejarla correr a ver si superaba los quince minutos, que hemos acordado como familia, para continuar viendo una película o para detenerla y buscar otra. Como ven, la película nos gustó y la vimos hasta el final.

Antes de partir es una película conmovedora que nos lleva de la mano a experimentar una montaña rusa de emociones, junto a sus dos protagonistas. La trama nos cuenta la historia de dos hombres que se conocen en la habitación de un hospital. Ambos, lo único que tienen en común es el mismo diagnóstico: una enfermedad terminal que les tenía los días contados.

Uno de los protagonistas es Carter Chambers, interpretado por Morgan Freeman, un hombre muy inteligente, dedicado a su familia, trabajador y muy humilde que no ha podido cumplir todo lo que deseaba en su vida. El otro protagonista de esta historia es Edward Cole, interpretado por Jack Nicholson, quien es todo lo contario a Carter, un hombre rico, amargado, no tiene familia y ha vivido toda su vida para hacer dinero, dejando de lado aspectos más valiosos.

Además de la enfermedad, comparten una lista de deseos por cumplir que se empeñan en hacer realidad juntos, y, de este modo, aprovechar el poco tiempo de vida que les queda.

Así, deciden poner en pausa todo lo que los aqueja y emprenden un viaje, gracias a las posibilidades económicas de Edward, lleno de aventuras y con diferentes destinos. Asumen riesgos que antes eran impensables o que solo podían ser sueños irrealizables como lanzarse en paracaídas, por ejemplo. Se aventuran a visitar los lugares más imponentes del mundo como el Taj MaHal y a vivir al máximo sus últimos días.

As they got to know each other, the bond of a good friendship grew stronger and they shared more personal things, some outstanding debts with life that made them reflect on life itself.

I believe that this is a film that speaks to us about friendship, about the purpose we set for ourselves in life and the mark we want to leave of our passage through it.

**Before we go" is a film that confronts us with death. It makes us reflect on what we have done and what we have failed to do. It allows us to look back and see in the film of our life the time we have lived and to think about doing what we deeply desire, before it is too late because life is a short time and we must live it well, live it beautifully, live it to the fullest.

En la medida que iban conociéndose, el vínculo de una buena amistad se fortalecía y compartían más cosas personales, algunas deudas pendientes con la vida que los hacían reflexionar sobre la vida misma.

Considero que esta es una película que nos habla de amistad, del propósito que nos planteamos en la vida y de la huella que queremos dejar de nuestro tránsito por ella.

Antes de partir es una película que nos pone de cara ante la muerte. Nos hace reflexionar sobre lo que hemos hecho y lo que hemos dejado de hacer. Nos permite mirar hacia atrás y ver en la película de nuestra vida el tiempo vivido y pensar en hacer lo que deseamos profundamente, antes de que sea demasiado tarde porque la vida es un ratito y hay que vivirla bien, vivirla bonito, vivirla al máximo.
