Dune : Part two
After watching Dune part one I knew I had to watch part two immediately and that is what I did. I am glad I watched it, because it is a great improvement on the first one. A lot of the clips that are going around come from this part, and it was after this part the movies started getting hype, even though Dune part one was out a while ago. Dune part two
PLOT
In this part, Paul and his mother fit in with the refugees (fremen). They both learn and adopt the ways of the freemen, his mother becomes their new prophetess while he joins them to fight. He takes on the alias Muadib (desert mouse) and together they wreak havoc on the spice fields causing the Harkonnens a great deal of trouble. This angers them and they send their best warrior after him.
Meanwhile, his ways are starting to align with the prophecy even more. Perhaps he is actually the Lisan Al Ghaib (The messiah). It is up to him to step up and deliver the fremen from the hands of the Harkonnens, but something is stopping him, his visions.
MY THOUGHTS
When you watch this one you know that this is the main part. The first part just felt like a preamble, it had to be done so as to give us a good understanding of the whole plot. I said earlier that this was an adaptation from a book, let's just say this part was that part of the book where you just want to keep turning to the next page to see what happens next. The length of this part and the first part are the same, but I couldn't believe it, in the first part you may find yourself checking how many minutes are left, but at this part I was surprised it ended so fast.
Here we finally get to see a glimpse of what Paul is capable of and boy oh boy, I enjoyed it. I had seen some of the edits of these scenes online, but it still felt nice watching them.
Then the acting, the acting in this part was phenomenal especially from Timothee Chalamet, watching his character Paul grow from a boy into "the man" was refreshing. When he became the man he went on an aura farming spree.
Another thing I like about Dune were the fight scenes. They're unique in a way, especially the 1 v 1's where they have nothing but a knife each. It's not particularly flashy or over the top, feels more like how a realistic knife would be.
Things I didn't like though, were some of the twists, they didn't hit home. I have a feeling it's because it is an adaptation from a book so its a bit harder to dive into some minute subplots that'll make the twists even more satisfying.
For this reason, I'll give Dune 2 a solid score of 8.7/10. It was well worth the 2hrs 45 minutes. There's another part that's coming soon Dune Messiah (part 3). I will definitely be watching it.

I think first part is better than part 2.
Oh, that is an interesting perspective. Why is that? I found myself checking how much of it was left during part one, and I watched part two immediately after and didn't even check at all cause I was enjoying it
