Aavesham - Malayalam Movie review
It has been a long time since I watched some movies and shared my review on Hive. A couple of days back I got a chance to watch this movie called Aavesham. This is a Malayalam movie. This movie was released in multiple languages if I'm not wrong. I was so attracted by the song Illuminati and that was the reason why I wanted to watch this movie. It was also mentioned that this movie was a don movie but along with some humor elements in it.
My overall feeling is that the movie is a good entertainment stuff and there is nothing much to learn from the movie. That's where I thought the movie even though had many opportunties to convey messages to the audiance, I think it did not convey the message very well or maybe it did not convey any message at all. It was just a perfect entertainment picture.
The story line was about 3 college students who are getting their college life started. They then get into a fight with some college Don or something. After getting beaten up by the college Don, they wanted to befriend some local gangster and increase their security and get the college Don beaten up. All these things happen in the movie and the local gangster the students meet was Ranga and he was the hero of the movie. The students enjoy Ranga and team fighting people and they think that he would be able to help them to beat up the college Don. Finally after a point, the students realized that they are stuck with Ranga and wanted to escape and have a normal life.
The final story of the movie is about what happens to the future of these students and if they are still part of Ranga's group. Though the movie went in the direction where there would be a big message given in the movie as moral, nothing like that happened and it was just an entertainment movie. I personally thought there were a few things that could have been avoided or shown differently in the movie. The first thing was the fact that students live alcohol and cigerates. This was projected as if every student over there was smoking and drinking and it was also openly celebrated in the movie. This may not set a good thought on the school and college students who would be watching the movie. The next biggest problem that I saw in the movie was the fact that the song Illuminati was only available as a conclution song. It would have been better to have had that song in between the movie with some nice choreography.
Overall I enjoyed the movie and I don't know if I would wish similar movies in the future and share it with others. This movie may be good for enjoyment but I'm not sure what it would provide for the society in the form of a message. Though one thing was clear that only if we study well, we will be able to accomplish so many things.

Their attempts to intimidate and silence their critics are equally concerning. The use of downvotes as a means of censorship is a clear indication of their desperation to maintain their grip on the narrative. But it's not working

I mostly watch movies for entertainment and rarely for moral messages. This particular movie is a good one and maybe I'll try it out sometime. Though I'm more acclimated to action and thriller movies. Thanks for the review and happy holidays.

I enjoy movie reviews a whole lot on here . Sounds like 'Aavesham' is a fun ride, but it's a missed opportunity when entertainment overshadows meaningful messaging. Balancing both could leave a lasting impact!
The movie is amazing, very nice review.
I regret not watching this in theatre 😞.
I have seen this movie and I agree with you that it seems to be good for entertainment only. Honestly, when I was watching it, I was thinking why they came to the university! There was no university, it was more like a prison. The upper years were constantly torturing the lower years and there were groups of thugs in the university instead of students! Of course, there are many such Indian films, this is one of them.
