Stealing from an elderly person is like stealing from a child. In some ways, it's worse. When someone hurts a child, there are people who care, parents to step in. When someone hurts an elder person, they are often left to face the hornets alone.
~Adam Clay: curled from the movie.~

The quote shared was from the movie, and just looking at it, the truth in there is just on point.

How amazing would it be to have someone who set the country right. Not the law made for the weak or strong but the law that needs to be carried out because there's justice in it.

In our world, it is very obvious that the law never favours the poor/weak. It goes straight to hunt them like they are criminals while the actual criminals sit right there, look you in the eyes, and judge you.

I have been anticipating this movie ever since it popped up on my notification. I woke up one morning to clear the ones for the other day because I forgot to and, there it was... His face alone was enough to get my hands clicking on the newsfeed to read what the movie was all about, and that wasn't enough. No, I went to Google and then off to YouTube to watch the trailer and read comments, and sure, I was ready to download.

But, it wasn't yet in my country, so I knew I had no choice but to wait, and I did. It almost slipped my mind, but hey! It didn't because I finally watched it two days ago.

Now, the movie.

Movie Title: The Beekeeper.

Release Date: January 26th, 2024, in Nigeria.

Genres: Thriller, and Action.

In a place where there's corruption, a balance needs to be made, and that's what brought in The Beekeeper. It was a code name for an operation or entity that acts on their own to bring justice to society.

The movie began with Jason Statham, known as Adam Clay. Though the name doesn't exist, he used it undercover after retiring as the Beekeeper, and then, he became a real keeper of bees. He makes honey with them and shares with the only woman, Eloise Parker, who ever took care of him.

However, things took a bitter turn when Eloise Parker committed suicide. What was supposed to be a computer virus took out all the money in her account and other accounts she manages. And here is where The Beekeeper had to be the Beekeeper.

After getting to know the CIA wasn't able to find those that instigated Eloise Parker's death, Adam Clay took charge and found his way to their location where he burnt down one of their offices.

But that wasn't enough. We know what happens when you hit a bee's hornet... yes! It doesn't stop until it finishes the job, and Adam Clay knew there was more to it. Higher ups who wanted him dead, but he had just one goal, and that was to kill the person who owned the business, but... He isn't just an ordinary person. He is the president's son, whose fund from the business he does got his mother, who is the president, a seat.

My Opinion.

I have to commend Adam Clay's role in the play. There was no dull moment with him as he treated things like he was supposed to. However, the other characters in the movie acted like they were auditioning to be an actor/actress. It was unbelievably annoying, especially the role played by Emmy Raver-Lampman, who was Agent Verona Parker. Seeing that her mother had died and how she acted, it didn't align.

That was because at the beginning of the show, she said she was stubborn and would find her mother's killer. But all of a sudden, she turned into a cop who followed the law, not justice. If her character wasn't going to act like that, it should be shown from the beginning.

Seeing the way she was bent on hunting someone who was fighting for her mother's death was absurd. It didn't just click! And then the other characters! Phew. I don't know, maybe I was the one who saw how faulty they were in acting out their characters, and all. Maybe because I had big hopes for the movie, I don't know.

If we were to exclude the part Adam Clay played and focus on the other actors, I would not watch the movie to the end.

Nevertheless, it was a good show, and if you've seen a lot of Jason Statham's movies, you'd agree that he always delivered, and he did so here, too.
