Cinetvcontest #129:.....TAKEN (2008).

What would you do if your teenage and only daughter was taken? And when I say taken, I mean kidnapped...gone. I know for a certainty that I would go into a frenzy, from there to panic attack and then loosing my fluffing mind out of anger.

Well, something like this happened within the movie I'll be sharing with you all today. This movie titled Taken was released in the year 2008. I consider it an action thriller film that kept my heart racing and my pulse fluctuating visibly.

The lead role Bryan Mills was played by Liam Neeson. He played the role of a father to his seventeen years old daughter, Kim, whom he was trying to bond with.

All was going well until his daughter sought his permission to go on a trip with her friend Amanda. Only thing was that they had another plan of their own which was to follow their favourite band on their European tour.

Their plan went South when Kim and Amanda got attacked in their hotel room and were taken (abducted). Before the abduction, Kim was able to describe one of her attackers to her dad on the phone.

The attacker picked up Kim's phone and listened. Bryan hearing the breathing on the other side warned the attackers to release his daughter or else he would use his special skills to find and hunt them down. The response he received was "good luck"

Bryan had to fly to Paris and begin the hunt. From his Intel, he gathered that he only had 96 hours (4 days) to find Kim or she would be lost forever. Turns out that the abductors were members of an Albanian sex trafficking ring. These sex traffickers carried out their deeds secretly tht it was almost impossible to trace or catch them but they were no match for the special skills of Bryan Mills 😁.

What I liked and learnt?

I like Laim Neeson films a lot. There's just something about his cool demeanor that hides his dangerous and deadly side. People who cross him often underestimate him and that is what leads to their downfall.

I liked the fact that the movie was straight to the point with no irrelevant scenes in between. The flow of the plot was great moving in a rhythmic crescendo with the climax at the very end when he found Kim tied up and injured in one of the sex traffickers bathroom.

One thing I learned from the movie is that a parent will always go extra mile to keep their kids from danger irrespective of their child's misbehaviour. The love of a dad was fully reflected in how Liam Neeson went through dangerous tides just to rescue his daughter even when it looked like it was impossible.

How Liam Neeson was able to tie the loose ends and get to the right place where his daughter was made the movie thrilling for me. The fight scenes added a beautiful complement to the thrill, making the entire movie a fun watch.
