Ever met “dream killers* on your way to achieving success? Or What do you do when it is a whole cultural barrier standing against your dreams? Well, the truth is that we've all encountered people who never believed in our visions and goals but I doubt that I have come across a whole society obstructing the dreams and goals of its own members.

This is the storyline for the movie I'm about to review. The movie is titled Miss India. I actually stumbled upon it on my movie box app and the idea that it was going to be a peagentry was alluring to me. Nothing prepared me for the twist in plot to it's name.

Synopsis

Miss India is a business drama movie that centered around the life of Manasa Samuyktha. A girl born to a South Indian middle class family. Her dream was to own her own business where she would focus on showing off her grandfather's special “Chai tea” to the world.

Her family members were the first to oppose her. According to Samuytha's mom, a girl was only to go to school then get married to the man chosen for her by her parents but she would not have any of it. Samuytha's family moved from India to America and there her dream to do business magnified.

Against her family's wishes, she turns down marriage prospects and leaves to go start up her business. Initially, she was met with strong opposition, sexism and misogyny especially from coffee guru KSK “Mr Kailash”. With a stroke of luck, Samuyktha found an investor in Vikram who gave her a loan for her business. Soon, her chai tea brand “miss India” became so popular that it stood toe to toe with Ksk coffee.

A pissed offf Mr Kailash played a dirty move against Miss India using one of her trusted friends seeing that he was unable to buy her company. In the end, Miss India Rose from the ashes of rivalry and betrayal while ksk coffee went bankrupt. Miss India finally became a business brand recognized by all and in the end, Samuyktha understood her grandfather's words to her that “greatness is a quality”.

I liked this movie a lot as it spoke volumes of the many struggles and opposition's faced by the female gender especially when it comes to breaking the status quo. I believe that women as much as men can achieve any level of success they desire. A woman's success and worth in life should not be tied to only marriage. ”Women are made for more”.

There was nothing to dislike about the movie. The flow in sequence of the plot was great. No irrelevant scenes, everything flowed from start to finish. There were no action nor humorous scenes yet this movie was still quite engaging. The right emotions were displayed by the actors at the right time and I loved the burst of colour embedded in each scene

I rate this movie a 7.5/10 for its strong arch and beautiful acting by the protagonist.

Thank you all for reading.

Oh wow
This is amazing, she really did great.

I thought that it was only those days in Africa that female children are always encouraged to grow and get married.
And continue to be a housewife.

Until I watched one Indian movie too that centered on that.

Now that she has progressed in life, didn't it benefit the society?
Glad she did it.

This is an interesting movie.
