Alias Grace. Nuevamente quedé atrapada con esta miniserie cuya trama involucra a una joven inmigrante irlandesa a quien acusan y condenada por los asesinatos del hombre quien la empleó y a su amante (la ama de llaves).

Esta miniserie consta de seis capítulos de 45 minutos cada uno. Fue estrenada en el 2017 pero es ahora cuando disfruté de ella. Si te enganchas como lo hice yo, podrás ver la miniserie en un día ja,ja,ja.

Alias Grace es una película ambientada de la Irlanda de 1859-60 y dirigida por Mary Harron. Esta directora nos da un paseo histórico interesante. Es una novela de ficción con mucho drama y suspenso desde el momento en que inicia. Un trhiller que nos mantiene con altas expectativas.

Me pareció interesante la manera como los espectadores somos guiados en esta trama. Al inicio nos dejan saber que se trata de un doble homicidio y que buscan saber la verdad sobre lo sucedido. El homicidio fue perpetrado por una pareja hombre y mujer. A ambos le dan pena de muerte pero a la joven mujer no logran demostrarle complicidad en el asunto.

De acuerdo con el planteamiento del film, en Irlanda se evidencia el progreso científico. En este contexto participan en la investigacion del hecho gente interesada en actividades paranormal, espiritualismo, hipnosis entre otros.

Sin embargo, es el psicólogo Jordan quien inicia el proceso con la joven Grace.

Este es el inicio y la parte que más me conmovió de la miniserie. Desde este momento comienza Grace a contar su historia de vida para poder llegar a la verdad que ella misma no logra recordar. He allí el gran problema en este caso.

Los investigadores dudan de Grace, muchos la califican como una mujer astuta, falsa, fuerte, difícil de doblegar. Estas características sólo lleva a los expertos a pensar que Grace oculta la verdad aunque la verdad es otra. ¿Múltiple personalidad quizá? Puede ser.

La historia de Grace no pudo ser más trágica. Ser inmigrante la llevó a sufrir las peores tragedias que van desde el maltrato, abuso por parte de su padre, la pérdida de su madre hasta la pérdida del resto de la familia, sus hermanos más pequeños. No culminado todo su drama su vida luego de la separación familiar sigue siendo tragedia.

Quizá los golpes recibido hicieron de Grace una persona aparentemente frívola y vacía. Cualquiera podía pensar que sus sentimientos eran ensayados y dramatizados. Aún así, sentí debilidad por este personaje. Más aún cuando narra día a día la historia al Psicólogo quien a mi juicio se enamora de ella.

Pero, ¿Es Grace realmente Inocente? ¿Qué pasó el día de los asesinatos y por qué ella no logra recordar nada? ¿Hubo acaso un bloqueo mental? O, ¿ era mejor para ella seguir sufriendo en una cárcel?

Nada de lo anterior, aunque el misterio no se revela sino al final de la obra. ¡Increíble! Esta película no tiene desperdicio. Claro, para quienes nos gustan estas películas cubiertas de historia va mi recomendación. Entiendo que no a todo nos gusta este género.

Pero, volviendo al tema, Alias Grace es una miniserie poderosa. Mucho drama, muchos diálogos interesantes, juicios sociales, demandas reales que aún mantienen vigencia, fanatismo religioso, racismo, discriminación. Todos estos conceptos se conjugan en la trama de una manera magistral.

El final de la obra es inconcluso, no creo que haya una segunda parte por el tiempo que tiene pero no lo sé. Se siembra cierto misterio al final y desde allí pudiésemos decir... hay segunda parte.

¿El misterio queda revelado? Sí, ¿Grace queda en libertad? Sí, pero vean ustedes mismos todo lo que ocurre para que eso sea posible.

Alias Grace. Once again I was gripped by this miniseries whose plot involves a young Irish immigrant woman who is accused and convicted of the murders of the man who employed her and his mistress (the housekeeper).

This miniseries consists of six chapters of 45 minutes each. It was released in 2017 but it is only now that I enjoyed it. If you get hooked like I did, you can watch the miniseries in a day ha,ha,ha.

Alias Grace is a movie set from 1859-60 Ireland and directed by Mary Harron. This director gives us an interesting historical ride. It is a fiction novel with a lot of drama and suspense from the moment it starts. A thriller that keeps us with high expectations.

I found it interesting the way the viewers are guided in this plot. At the beginning they let us know that this is a double homicide and that they are looking for the truth about what happened. The murder was perpetrated by a male and female couple. Both are given the death penalty but the young woman is not able to prove her complicity in the matter.

According to the approach of the film, scientific progress is evident in Ireland. In this context, people interested in paranormal activities, spiritualism, hypnosis, among others, participate in the investigation.

However, it is the psychologist Jordan who initiates the process with the young Grace.

This is the beginning and the part that moved me the most in the miniseries. From this moment on, Grace begins to tell her life story in order to get to the truth that she herself cannot remember. That is the big problem in this case.

The investigators doubt Grace, many qualify her as a cunning woman, false, strong, difficult to bend. These characteristics only lead the experts to think that Grace is hiding the truth, although the truth is something else. Multiple personality perhaps? Maybe.

Grace's story could not have been more tragic. Being an immigrant led her to suffer the worst tragedies ranging from mistreatment, abuse by her father, the loss of her mother to the loss of the rest of the family, her younger siblings. Not all her drama culminated her life after the family separation is still a tragedy.

Perhaps the blows received made Grace a seemingly frivolous and empty person. Anyone would think that her feelings were rehearsed and dramatized. Even so, I felt a weakness for this character. Even more so when she narrates day by day the story to the Psychologist who in my opinion falls in love with her.

But is Grace really innocent? What happened on the day of the murders and why she can't remember anything? Was there a mental block? Or was it better for her to continue suffering in prison?

None of the above, although the mystery is only revealed at the end of the play. Incredible! This movie is not to be missed. Of course, for those of us who like these story-covered movies goes my recommendation. I understand that not all of us like this genre.

But, back to the subject, Alias Grace is a powerful miniseries. Lots of drama, lots of interesting dialogues, social judgments, real demands that are still valid, religious fanaticism, racism, discrimination. All these concepts come together in the plot in a masterful way.

The end of the work is inconclusive, I don't think there will be a second part because of the time it has but I don't know. A certain mystery is sown at the end and from there we could say... there is a second part.

Is the mystery revealed? Yes, is Grace released? Yes, but see for yourselves everything that happens to make that possible.
