"Prisioners", a movie you won't be able to let go of until the end

Hello my dear friends of Movies & TV Shows, today I bring you a movie to hold on to the screen and not let go until the end of the story. It is a 2013 movie, starring the great Hugh Jackman and the admirable Viola Davis, and we will also see other actors currently very well known, but let's wait a moment, I'll tell you what this is about.

"Intrigue", "The Suspicion", or "Prisoners" as its original name is, is a movie about the kidnapping of two little girls one day.

As a result, an investigation begins that seems to have no end. A day passes, two days, three days and the girls do not appear. Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman), the father of one of the girls, begins to take justice into his own hands and try to locate his daughter. For this he "kidnaps" a suspicious adult with a below average IQ, who although he had been ruled out as the abductor and released, continues to share data that evidences that the man had contact with the girls. For example, he sings the song his daughter sang for Christmas, or tells the father of one of the little girls phrases that indicate he saw her.

Keller Dover loses his mind because of this and captures and tortures him to obtain the whereabouts of his daughter, but at the same time something else is happening. Something that exceeds this man's confinement, and that is that there is someone else behind the disappearance of the two girls, and no one suspects that this is the person responsible for the capture.

Hola mis queridos amigos de Movies & TV Shows, hoy sí que les traigo una película para prenderse a la pantalla y no soltarla hasta que no termine la historia. Es una película del 2013, protagonizada por el grandioso Hugh Jackman y por la admirable Viola Davis, y también veremos a otros actores actualmente muy conocidos, pero esperemos un momento, que les comento de qué va esto.

“Intriga”, “La Sospecha”, o “Prisioners” como es su nombre original, es una película que trata del secuestro de dos pequeñas un día cualquiera.

A raíz de esto empieza una investigación que parece no tener fin. Pasa un día, dos días, tres días y las niñas no aparecen. Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman), el padre de una de las niñas, empieza a hacer justicia por mano propia y a intentar localizar a su hija. Por esto “rapta” a un adulto sospechoso con un coeficiente intelectual por debajo de la media, que aunque había sido descartado como el raptor y puesto en libertad, continúa compartiendo datos que evidencian que el hombre tuvo contacto con las niñas. Por ejemplo canta la canción que su hija cantaba para Navidad, o le dice al padre de una de las pequeñas, frases que indican que la vio.

Keller Dover pierde la razón por esto y lo captura y tortura para obtener el paradero de su hija, pero paralelamente algo más está ocurriendo. Algo que excede ese habitáculo en el que tiene a este hombre, y es que hay alguien más detrás de la desaparición de las dos niñas, y nadie sospecha que sea esa la persona responsable de la captura.

Opinion

I know that those who read me know that I leave my opinion for the end, because it is the subjective of the post, but today... I can't, I simply loved this movie and I can't continue a spontaneous writing without expressing this that wants to come out for a while now, so I'm going to let the Belu flow into the objective review post right now.

I stopped watching "so dark" movies a long time ago. Although I share with you numerous of these stories as may be "Black Mirror", "Welcome to Eden" or others, stories like those in "Prisoners", I try to avoid them, as they are very possible cases, very real, that somehow I feel they have a low vibe, so I don't like to make photo in that. But here's a little secret: these movies are usually very well made (the good ones) and I'm a big fan of the intrigue itself. I do like to be glued to the TV and can't tear myself away from it, although nothing after Games of Thrones has achieved that effect.

If you enjoy this as much as I do, I must recommend the movie, but yes it can be a bit delicate, because the ending in particular, is painful, not because something too negative happens (I will not ruin the ending for you, relax), but somehow you realize how a very unbalanced person can end with the psychological development of a child by simply trying to set a scene against or in favor of something.

Sé que quienes me leen saben que dejo mi opinión para el final, pues es lo subjetivo del post, pero hoy… no puedo, es que sencillamente amé esta película y no puedo continuar un escrito espontáneo sin expresar esto que quiere salir hace ya un lindo rato, así que voy a dejar fluír a la Belu dentro del objetivo post de reseña ahora mismo.

Hace tiempo dejé de ver películas “tan oscuras”. Aunque comparto con ustedes numerosas de estas historias como puede ser “Black Mirror”, “Bienvenidos a Eden” u otras, historias como las de “Prisioners”, las intento evitar, pues son casos muy posibles, muy reales, que de alguna manera siento que tienen una vibración baja, por lo que no me gusta hacer foto en eso. Pero aquí va un pequeño secreto: estas películas suelen estar muy bien hechas (las buenas) y soy una gran seguidora de la intriga en sí misma. A mí sí me gusta estar pegada al televisor sin poder despegarme de él, aunque nada después de Games of Thrones haya logrado tal efecto.

Si disfrutas de esto tanto como yo, debo recomendarte la película, pero sí que puede ser algo delicada, porque el final en especial, es doloroso, no porque pase algo demasiado negativo (no te voy a arruinar el final, tranquilo), pero de alguna manera te das cuenta cómo una persona muy desequilibrada puede terminar con el desarrollo psicológico de un niño por simplemente intentar montar una escena en contra o a favor de algo.

Plot

Sorry this change of order even for me is strange, but, although I thought of deleting lines and writing following my organization, I think this touch is very positive, because it is the first production that demands my opinion before going to the objective.

The story tells of two families who meet, both with two children each. One has a son and a daughter and the other has two daughters, but one girl from each family is about 5 years old.

The point is that these little girls go out to play, supervised by their older brothers, they approach a caravan, and the brothers notice that there is someone inside, so they tell the girls to stay away, hours later, the girls disappear.

One family is dismayed, but the other is destroyed, the mother of one of the girls is surviving on psychotropic drugs and her husband is the one who has captured the suspect, who in the end ends up surprising us all (I want to tell you but I'm not going to because the film is really worth watching).

We see an active presence of the police authorities, but at the same time we see attempts to "lower their arms". At this point you can see how the police, the security service of the town, has inside people who do not care at all about what happens, like other professionals who are really involved with the situation.

Trama

Perdón este cambio de orden hasta para mi es extraño, pero, aunque pensé en borrar renglones y escribir siguiendo mi organización, creo que este toque es muy positivo, pues es la primera producción que me demanda opinar antes de ir a lo objetivo.

La historia nos habla de dos familias que se reúnen, ambas con dos hijos cada una. Una tiene un hijo y una hija y la otra dos hijas, pero una niña de cada familia, tiene unos 5 años.

La cuestión es que estas pequeñas salen a jugar, supervisadas por sus hermanos mayores, se acercan a una caravana, y los hermanos notan que hay alguien dentro, por lo que indican a las niñas que se alejen, horas después, las niñas desaparecen.

Una familia se muestra consternada, pero la otra está destruida, la madre de una de las nenas está sobreviviendo a base de psicofármacos y su esposo es quien ha capturado al sospechoso, que al final termina sorprendiéndonos a todos (te lo quiero decir pero no lo voy a hacer porque de verdad que vale la pena ver la película).

Se observa una presencia activa de la autoridades policiales, pero al mismo tiempo se ven intentos de “bajar los brazos”. En este punto se puede ver cómo la policía, el servicio de seguridad del pueblo, tiene dentro a personas que no les importa en absoluto lo que pasa, como a otros profesionales que realmente están involucrados con la situación.

I will add something in the opinion

I really like everything at play in this story: courage, persistence, you even touch on dehumanization, when Keller says "that man is no longer a human being" for having kidnapped the girls. Resignation is observed, destruction is clearly seen, it was about resilience from multiple perspectives.

And here we can see very contrasting positions in the face of the same situation. A family practically lost in the devastating emotions of the disappearance of their little girl with blinding impulses; and another family trying to understand that there is no turning back, with pain but from a more measured emotion.

In the end, this production may stir your deepest feelings of pity, but it is something very positive, because at least from my point of view, when a film or series moves your emotions and feelings in this way, it is because it is really good.

Agregaré algo en la opinión

Me gusta mucho todo lo que se pone en juego en esta historia: el valor, la persistencia, hasta se toca la deshumanización, cuando Keller dice que “ese hombre ya no es un ser humano” por haber raptado a las niñas. Se observa la resignación, se ve claramente la destrucción, se trataba ja resiliencia desde múltiples perspectivas.

Y es que aquí se pueden ver posturas muy contrastantes ante una misma situación. Una familia prácticamente perdida en las emociones devastadoras de la desaparición de su pequeña con impulsos enceguecedores; y otra familia intentando comprender que no hay vuelta atrás, con dolor pero desde una emoción más medida.

Al final puede llegar a remover tus mayores sentimientos de lástima esta producción, pero es algo muy positivo, pues al menos desde mi punto de vista, cuando una película o serie te mueve emociones y sentimientos de esta manera, es porque es realmente buena.
