Nasılsınız? Umarım iyisinizdir. Ya da daha da önemlisi iyi olmaya çalışıyorsunuzdur. Ben biraz yalpalıyorum ve bir şeyler hissedebileceğimi düşündüğüm için de sürekli korku filmleri izliyorum. Hatta bana moral olması için birkaç hafta önce hayır panayırından aldığım aşağıda görebileceğiniz minik dostumu kafamın üzerinde dengede tutamaya çalışıyorum saatler boyunca. Bunun duruşum için faydalı olacağını da düşünüyorum açıkçası. Kafasını çok fazla öne eğen biriyim ve son zamanlarda yorgunluğumdan dolayı kambur oldum diyebilirim.
Birkaç gündür resmi olarak "Spooky Season"ımı [Korkunç (Korkutucu) Sezon] açmış bulunmaktayım. Normal olarak da, sanki zaten sürekli izlemiyormuşum gibi, korku filmlerine başladım. Bu yıl, filmler konusunda, hayal kırıklığına uğradığımı söyleyebilirim. Özellikle de Caveat ile. Film birkaç yıl önce çıkmış olsa dahi hepsine yetişemediğim için ben daha yeni izledim. Neyse, film ile ilgili bilgileri verdikten sonra kendi deneyimime değineceğim.
Türkçe'ye çevirisi "Uyarı" olarak yapılmış bu film 2020 yapımı Damian McCarthy tarafından yazılmış ve yönetmenliği yapılmış bir korku filmi. Film yaklaşık bir buçuk saat sürüyor ve "jump scare" (zıplama korkutması) yok. Açıkça jump scare beklediğim bir sahnede bile buna başvurulmamış ki bu bazıları için büyük bir artı olabilir.

Baş başrollerimizden biri olan Johnny French, yani Isaac bir bakıcı olarak Ben Caplan, yani Moe tarafından işe alınıyor. Belli şartlar hakkında anlaşılıp gerekli uyarılar ve para konusunda anlaşma ile film başlıyor.
Konunun geçtiği ev bir adada bulunuyor ve adaya sadece bir tekne ile gidiş var. Adaya vardıklarında ise adada yaşayan başka kimse olmadığı için direkt eve geçiyorlar ve Isaac uzun bir süre evi tedirgin bir şekilde inceliyor. Isaac ikna olduktan sonra ise Moe, Isaac'e evde hareket edebileceği ama bazı noktalara erişemeyeceği bir zincir takıyor. Hatta Isaac tuvalete de erişemiyor...
Filmin devamında ise olaylar psikoloji üzerinden gerçekleşiyor. Diğer baş rolümüz Olga yani Leila Sykes psikolojik olarak ciddi sorunlar yaşayan bir soydan geliyor ve Moe'nun, Isaac'e söylediğine göre Olga bir paranoyak.
Sonrasında ise olaylar ilerliyor ve paranormal aktiviteler ile birlikte filmin gerilimi de artıyor.
Şahsen ben gerilmedim bile. Üzücü oldu açıkçası. Sadece tek bir noktada yüreğim burkuldu diyebilirim çünkü fiziksel olarak insanlara zarar geliyor olması ve bunun bu kadar gerçekçi olması içimi bir garip yapıyor.
Bir de daha fazla paranormal olay beklerdim. Bunun için çok fazla boşluk vardı. Bu boşlukları ise psikoloji ile güçlendirmek yerine geçiştirdiklerini söyleyebilirim. Ama karakterlere verilen detaylar oldukça akıllıca ve yerinde.
Bazı noktalarda "Off bu da ne uzunmuş?" dediğim de oldu. "Düşündüğümden daha da kısaymış." dediğim de. Benim için bir hayal kırıklığı olma sebebi ise büyük ihtimalle büyük beklentiler ile filmi izlemeye başlamış olmam olabilir.
Tanıtım videosunda oldukça gergin bir hava sağlanabilmiş ama bunun aynısını filmin kendisi için söyleyemeyeceğim ne yazık ki.
IMDb puanlaması bence ayarında olmuş; 5.9/10
Ne daha fazlası ne de daha azı diyebilirim. Tabii ki de bu şahsi bir görüş. Belki filmi izlerseniz siz beğenebilirsiniz. "Çerezlik" diyebileceğim bir film olmuş. Ama yaptığım bütün yorumlara rağmen bir şans vermeniz taraftarıyım. I even try to balance the little friend you can see below, which I bought from the charity fair a few weeks ago, on my head for hours to cheer me up. I honestly think this will be beneficial for my posture. I am a person who bends her head forward too much and I can say that I have recently become a hunchback due to my fatigue.
For a few days now, I've officially opened my "Spooky Season". As normal, I started watching horror films, as if I wasn't already watching them all the time. This year, I can say that I was disappointed with the films. Especially with Caveat. Even though the film came out a few years ago, I just watched it recently because I couldn't catch all of them. Anyway, after giving some information about the film, I will talk about my own experience.
Caveat is a 2020 horror film written and directed by Damian McCarthy. The film lasts about an hour and a half and there is no "jump scare". Even in a scene where I clearly expected a jump scare, it is not used, which may be a big plus for some.

The film takes place in a small area with 3 actors, mostly in a house on the island. Although the names of other individuals other than these 3 people are mentioned, these people are not in the film. One of our leading stars, Johnny French, as Isaac, is hired by Ben Caplan, as Moe, as a carer. The film begins with an agreement on certain conditions and the necessary warnings and money.
The house is located on an island and there is only a boat to the island. When they arrive at the place, since there is no one else living on the land, they go straight to the house and Isaac examines the house restlessly for a long time. After Isaac is convinced, Moe puts a chain on Isaac so that he can move around the house but cannot access some points. Even the toilet is inaccessible to Isaac.
In the rest of the film, the events take place through psychology. Our other main character Leila Sykes, as Olga, comes from a lineage with serious psychological problems and according to what Moe tells Isaac, Olga is a paranoid.
Afterwards, events develop and the tension of the film increases with paranormal activities.
Personally, I wasn't even tensed. It was sad, frankly. I can only say that my heart ached at one point because the fact that people are physically harmed and that it is so realistic makes me feel strange.
I also expected more paranormal activities, there were too many gaps for that. I can say that these gaps were glossed over instead of strengthening them with psychology. But the details given to the characters are quite clever and appropriate.
At some points I said, "Oh, how long is this?" And "It's even shorter than I thought." The reason why it was a disappointment for me is probably because I started watching the film with great expectations.
In the trailer, a very tense atmosphere was created, but unfortunately I can't say the same for the film itself.
I think the IMDb rating is just right; 5.9/10
No more, no less. Of course, this is a personal opinion. Maybe if you watch the film, you might like it. It's a film that I can call a "snack". But despite all the comments I made, I think you should give it a chance because I know how much I like intense horror films and the fact that my expectations were not met may be because my bar started too high.

Önceden korku filmi çok izlerdim. Artık izlemeyeli çok uzun zaman olmuş. Daha çok macera dolu filmleri seviyorum.
Şu sıralar macera, aksiyon kategorilerine büyük bir geçiş var. Hem insanların hem de yapımcıların. Bazen harika filmler koyabiliyorlar ortaya. Mutluyum o yüzden.

fragmanı izleyince hoşuma gitti bazı sahneler ama genel olarak beğenmediğini yazdığın satırları okuyunca ikilemde kaldım. yine de not alıyorum bir şans vermek isterim. 🙂

Ben de benzer düşünceler ile başlamıştım. Ama beklentimin çok yüksek olmasıydı belki de beni bu kadar hayal kırıklığına uğratan. Şimdi en azından benim yazdıklarımdan sonra çok büyük beklentilerin olmadan izlersen eminim daha "memnun" kalacaksındır 😁
