Smart TV for my Room

It's been almost two months since I got this TV for my room. I actually didn't buy it. Mom got it and decided to put it on my room. My room had been a space free of television for over 10 years. Why? I don't actually watch much of it.

However, I can tell having a bigger TV is cool. I've been thinking of getting an HDMI cable to connect the laptop and watch videos on a bigger screen. It could also serve as a monitor for reading.

The image is clear. The control works. It barely has space on the drawer. That's a good thing. A bigger TV would need other space, maybe a wall base.

The problems with this particular TV are petty. It usually has problems staying connected to the network. I have tried to fix it several times to no avail. Then, there's the issue when it is connected to the network. Contrary to another model Mom has in her room, this one gets all the spikes and latency problems. So it will deliberately change the quality of stream. The video will be in HD, then drop to 240p or go back and forth.

It is a cool TV. I don't watch cable since the signal is really bad. But the HDMI idea keeps my hopes up. What other uses would you give a device like this?
