Marnie [Ghibli movie review] (ESP/ENG)
Omoide no Mānī also known as “Marnie's Memory” It is based on the novel by British writer Joan G. Robinson (I would like to read it) I saw it some time ago and it is one of my favorites from Ghibli Studios. It tells the story of Anna Sasaki, an asthmatic girl who has problems adapting at school, is adopted and thinks that her adoptive mother only has her with her because of the money she receives from the government. On the doctor's advice Anna must travel to the countryside, to the home of some relatives, however there, although they treat her well she still has problems adapting to society and making friends, until she meets Marnie, an enigmatic girl, by her appearance she is clearly a foreigner, probably British but she quickly gains Anna's sympathy and together they strike up a solid friendship, however the mystery of Marnie lies in that sometimes she disappears without Anna being able to locate her, and lives in a house that seems to be abandoned but that sometimes is filled with splendor, glamor and people. All this makes the friendship even more interesting but at the end of the day Anna ends up terribly disconcerted when she discovers a truth about Marnie that will literally change the perception of her own life.

Robinson (me gustaría leerla) la vi hace algún tiempo y es de mis favoritas de los estudios Ghibli. Nos cuenta la historia de Anna Sasaki, una niña asmática que tiene problemas de adaptación en la escuela, es adoptada y piensa que su madre adoptiva solo la tiene con ella por el dinero que recibe por parte del gobierno. Por consejo del médico Anna debe viajar al campo, a casa de algunos familiares, sin embargo allá, aunque la tratan bien sigue teniendo problemas para adaptarse a la sociedad y hacer amigos, hasta que conoce a Marnie, una chica enigmática, por su apariencia claramente es extranjera , probablemente británica pero rápidamente se gana la simpatía de Anna y juntas entablan una sólida amistad, sin embargo el misterio de Marnie radica en que algunas veces desaparece sin que Anna pueda ubicarla, y vive en una casa que parece estar abandonada pero que algunas veces se llena de esplendor, glamour y personas. Todo esto hace que la amistad sea aún más interesante pero al final del día Anna termina terriblemente desconcertada al descubrir una verdad sobre Marnie que literalmente cambiará la percepción de su propia vida.
This movie has an incredible character development, Anna starts by being a strange girl in the eyes of others, even unfriendly, since sometimes, due to her emotional problems she ends up misinterpreting the actions of the people around her who only want to help her, which sometimes derives in a rude attitude on her part, however when she discovers the truth about Marnie (something that obviously I will not reveal for you to discover on your own) she suffers a wonderful transformation. And it is that Marnie was really a means through which Anna ended up discovering herself, and in turn this made her end up appreciating what she had and what others did for her.
Esta película tiene un desarrollo de personaje increíble, Anna comienza por ser una niña rara ante los ojos de los demás, incluso antipática, ya que algunas veces, debido a sus problemas emocionales termina malinterpretando las acciones de las personas que están a su alrededor y que solo quieren ayudarla, lo cual a veces deriva en una actitud grosera por parte de ella, no obstante cuando ella descubre la verdad sobre Marnie (algo que obviamente no revelaré para que ustedes lo descubran por su cuenta) sufre una maravillosa transformación. Y es que Marnie fue realmente un medio a través del cual Anna terminó descubriéndose a sí misma, y a su vez esto hizo que ella terminara apreciando lo que tenía y lo que los demás hacían por ella.
On the other hand, I really liked the fact that Mrs. Oiwa never judged her, even though Anna had obviously acted badly at a certain moment, but tried to understand her attitude and face her with love and respect instead of reproaches. The same goes for her adoptive mother, that woman always did her best to make Anna well, and to make her life full of happiness.
Por otra parte me gustó mucho el hecho de que la señora Oiwa nunca la juzgó, a pesar de que Anna obviamente había actuado mal en cierto momento, sino que trató de comprender su actitud y encararla con amor y respeto en lugar de reproches. Lo mismo sucede con su madre adoptiva, esa mujer siempre hizo lo posible porque Anna estuviese bien, y hacer que su vida estuviese llena de felicidad.
In addition, Anna's experience in the field allowed her to discover the importance of creating and strengthening family ties and friendships. It is family and true friends who support you when you feel you are about to fall, they are the ones who give you strength and who also accompany you to celebrate your triumphs. She also discovered that everything in life has a purpose and a reason, that nothing happens by chance and that she must deeply value the opportunities that life offers her.
Además la experiencia de Anna en el campo le permite descubrir la importancia de crear y fortalecer lazos familiares y con amistades. Son la familia y los verdaderos amigos los que te sostienen cuando sientes que vas a caer, son ellos que te dan fuerzas y los que te acompañan también para celebrar tus triunfos, además descubrió que todo en la vida tiene un propósito y un porqué, que nada sucede por casualidad y que debe valorar profundamente las oportunidades que la vida le ofrece.
Another thing I would like to mention is the wonderful animation this film has, like many Ghibli Studios films it is very rich in detail, which earned it a nomination for that category at the 2016 Oscar awards, but unfortunately the one that won was Inside Out (it was good but in my opinion the type of animation Ghibli handles is superior).
Otra cosa que me gustaría mencionar es la maravillosa animación que tiene esta película, al igual que muchas películas de Estudios Ghibli es muy rica en detalles, lo cual le valió la nominación a esa categoría en los premios Oscar de 2016, pero lamentablemente la que resultó ganadora fue Inside Out (fue buena pero en mi opinión el tipo de animación que maneja Ghibli es superior)
