Nightmare Ned, One of my Favourite Tv shows (ESP/ENG)
Hello, people of the Internet. I'm back to the nostalgia button with another cartoon from my childhood, which (as a horror lover) was one of my favourites along with (as you already know) Courage the Cowardly Dog. This time it's Ned's Nightmares, a 90's cartoon about a boy who suffered from night terrors and the development of the episode took place in his nightmares which always had to do with a specific theme that was raised just before Ned went to bed.

Vuelvo a tocar la tecla de la nostalgia con otra caricatura de mi infancia, la cual (como amante del terror) era de mis preferidas junto con (como ya saben de sobra) Coraje el Perro Cobarde. Esta vez se trata de Las Pesadillas de Ned, una caricatura de los años 90 que trataba sobre un niño que padecía terrores nocturnos y el desarrollo del capitulo se llevaba a cabo en sus pesadillas las cuales siempre tenían que ver con un tema en especifico que se planteaba justo antes de que Ned fuese a la cama
In this post and as usual when I open a series of posts about a specific tvshow, we are going to talk about its artistic section, design, photography, history and other aspects.
En este post y como es costumbre siempre que abro una serie de post de un programa en especifico, vamos a hablar de su apartado artístico, diseño, fotografía, historia y demás aspectos.
As I said in the post about Courage, the Cowardly Dog, since I was a child I was a horror lover (I was the weird girl who drew zombies and graveyards). So horror shows for kids were my passion and just like now as an adult (who loves horror movies, series and videogames) I enjoy the adrenaline rush that watching/playing them brings. The show had a simple premise, Ned (who suffered from night terrors) before going to bed, would always come up with the central theme of the episode, then he would go to bed and upon falling asleep, as such the development would begin, his nightmare (literally). Like the episode of Ned's baby teeth, where we see him taking good care of his teeth until the last baby tooth falls out and then he has a nightmare about it and the tooth fairy.
Como ya dije en el post sobre Coraje, el Perro Cobarde, desde niña fui amante del terror (era la niña rara que dibujaba zombies y cementerios) Así que los shows de terror para niños eran mi pasión y tal como ahora de adulta (que amo las películas, series y videojuegos de terror) disfruto la adrenalina que verlos / jugarlos conlleva. El programa tenía una premisa simple, Ned (quien sufría de terrores nocturnos) antes de irse a la cama, siempre planteaba el tema central del episodio, posteriormente se iba a la cama y al dormirse, como tal empezaba el desarrollo, su pesadilla (literalmente) Como el episodio de los dientes de leche de Ned, donde lo vemos cuidando muy bien sus dientes hasta que el último de leche se le cae y luego tiene una pesadilla en torno a este y al hada de los dientes.
The drawing style is simple and striking, the colour palette is always between green and purple, an strange combination of colours that generates a certain visual discomfort and creates a sense of unease in the viewer. The shots are quite striking as they are generally off-centre, cropped, contrapposto, out of focus or with undulations, all to help with the atmosphere, also the real places (such as Ned's room) usually look the same but with some differences such as in the colour for example to portray what usually happens in dreams in real life where places we know look different but we are certain that it is the same place.
El estilo de dibujo es simple y llamativo, la paleta de colores siempre se mantiene entre los verdes hasta los morados, una combinación de colores rara que genera cierta incomodidad a nivel visual y que permite generar en el espectador una sensación de inquietud. Los planos son bastante llamativos ya que en general son descuadrados, picados, contrapicados, en desenfoque o con ondulaciones, todo para ayudar con la ambientación, además los lugares reales (como por ejemplo la habitación de Ned) suelen verse iguales pero con algunas diferencias como en el color, por ejemplo, para retratar lo que suele suceder en los sueños en la vida real donde sitios que conocemos lucen diferentes pero tenemos la certeza que se trata del mismo lugar.
As for the soundtrack, it is very good and accompanies each scene very well, it is dissonant, so it helps a lot with the atmosphere and the handling of terror.
En cuanto al soundtrack, es muy bueno y acompaña muy bien cada escena, es disonante, por tanto ayuda mucho con la ambientación y el manejo del terror.

Ahhhhhhhhh nuestro cartoon favorito, recuerdo que de verdad generaba ansiedad en el espectador, y tienes razón, la paleta de colores que usaron en la fotografía ayuda mucho con esto, el púrpura y el verde, por ejemplo, son muy usados en genero terror.
Sipy, la verdad era tn inquietante como divertido :3
