Miniserie The undoing [ESP-ENG]
Las series de suspenso y misterio se han convertido en mis favoritas, y más si son miniseries que puedo terminar de ver en un maratón de un día. The undoing, es una miniserie estrenada en 2020 y cuando vi el tráiler supe que era de mi estilo y que me iba a gustar, además cuenta con grandes actores entre sus personajes principales, como Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, Donald Sutherland, Matilda De Angelis y no puedo dejar de mencionar al venezolano Edgar Ramírez.
Esta serie esta basada en un libro titulado en español “Tu ya lo sabías” de la escritora Jean Hanff Korelitz. Grace, es una psicóloga clínica con un matrimonio estable y cuyo esposo Jonathan es acusado del asesinato de Elena, la madre de un niño que va al mismo colegio que su hijo Henry.
Suspense and mystery series have become my favorite, and even more if they are miniseries that I can finish watching in a one-day marathon. The undoing, is a miniseries released in 2020 and when I saw the trailer I knew it was my style and that I was going to like it, it also has great actors among its main characters, such as Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, Donald Sutherland, Matilda De Angelis and I can not fail to mention the Venezuelan Edgar Ramírez.
This series is based on a book titled in Spanish “Tu ya lo sabías” by writer Jean Hanff Korelitz. Grace, is a clinical psychologist with a stable marriage and whose husband Jonathan is accused of the murder of Elena, the mother of a boy who goes to the same school as her son Henry.

Esta serie se centra en una familia de clase alta formada por dos médicos, como ya dije Grace (Nicole Kidman) es psicóloga clínica y su esposo Jonathan (Hugh Grant) oncólogo pediatra que se dedica a salvar niños con cáncer. Su hijo, Henry, estudia en uno de los mejores y más caros colegios de Nueva York.
Cuando Elena (Matilda De Angelis), es encontrada muerta en su estudio de arte por su pequeño hijo Miguel, y Jonathan no aparece por ningún lado, empieza la Investigación en busca de sospechosos y presuntos culpables.
This series focuses on an upper class family formed by two doctors, as I said Grace (Nicole Kidman) is a clinical psychologist and her husband Jonathan (Hugh Grant) is a pediatric oncologist who is dedicated to saving children with cancer. Their son, Henry, studies in one of the best and most expensive schools in New York.
When Elena (Matilda De Angelis) is found dead in her art studio by her young son Miguel, and Jonathan is nowhere to be found, the investigation begins in search of suspects and alleged culprits.

Grace es una mujer enamorada que ha creído todo lo que su marido le ha dicho durante 17 años, para ella, su relación se basa en la confianza, nunca ha sentido la necesidad de desconfiar de este hombre, es más, ella cree conocerlo más que el resto del mundo.
Qué pasa cuando lo que creemos no es verdad, cuando hemos vivido parte de nuestra vida con la necesidad de creer y de repente nuestros ojos se nos descubren de tal manera que parece estar en un sueño, sin saber que hacer, ni que creer, porque nuestro mundo se derrumba.
Grace is a woman in love who has believed everything her husband has told her for 17 years, for her, their relationship is based on trust, she has never felt the need to distrust this man, in fact, she thinks she knows him better than the rest of the world.

Grace pasa por muchas etapas, empezando por la sospecha, es una mujer muy inteligente y sabe que algo no está bien, aunque sea tarde y hayan pasado muchas cosas sin que se diera cuenta. Su amor por su marido le impidió ver las señales, y no hablo sólo de engaño e infidelidad, sino de no ver con ojos profesionales a la persona con la que lleva tantos años.
Entonces viene la confusión, en qué debe creer, si esa persona que ha compartido con ella tantos años nunca le dio señales de ser lo que ahora le dicen, y se lo demuestran con pruebas, es como haber convivido con un total desconocido. Cómo aceptar que estuvo equivocada por tantos años, pero como nunca es tarde, poco a poco se dará cuenta quien es quien en esta historia.
Aunque no me gustaría estar en la situación de Grace, hice el intento de ponerme a sus pies y en serio por momentos no sabía que hacer, si seguir creyendo en el amor de mi vida, esa persona que parece y se esfuerza por demostrar su inocencia o dejarme guiar por las pruebas y por lo que ahora estoy viendo de este desconocido.
Grace goes through many stages, starting with suspicion, she is a very intelligent woman and knows that something is not right, even though it is late and many things have happened without her realizing it. Her love for her husband prevented her from seeing the signs, and I’m not just talking about cheating and infidelity, but also about not seeing the person she has been with for so many years with professional eyes.
Then comes the confusion, what should she believe in, if this person who has shared with her for so many years never gave her signs of being what they now tell her, and they prove it to her with evidence, it is like having lived with a total stranger. How to accept that she was wrong for so many years, but as it is never too late, little by little she will realice who is who in this story.
Although I would not like to be in Grace’s situation, I made the attempt to put myself at her feet and seriously at times I did not know what to do, whether to continue believing in the love of my life, that person who seems and strives to prove his innocence or let myself be guided by the evidence and by what I am now seeing from this stranger.

Por su parte Jonathan, a primera vista es un buen hombre que nunca ha tenido problemas de violencia, pero cometió adulterio y dijo muchas mentiras para encubrir sus errores, y ahora está asustado porque no quiere ser condenado por un asesinato que según él no cometió, aunque no hay pruebas concretas de su culpabilidad, todos los indicios apuntan a un único culpable y ese es él. Hasta cierto punto cuenta con el apoyo de su mujer, que aunque no puede perdonar su infidelidad, no cree que sea capaz de asesinar a alguien.
También cuenta con un excelente abogado, que se encargará de demostrar no tanto su inocencia, sino la ineficacia de la policía a la hora de buscar un único sospechoso.
Respecto a este punto también pienso lo mismo. En los primeros capítulos me gustó la determinación del detective Joe (Edgar Ramírez), pensé que iba a hacer un personaje más activo en la trama, pero el personaje se fue diluyendo y por momentos me pareció estar frente a unos policías que sólo buscaban lo fácil, lo que se ve arriba sin indagar en las historias personales de los supuestos sospechosos para encontrar al culpable, por lo que sólo se habían centrado en Jonathan como el único sospechoso.

He also has an excellent lawyer, who will be in charge of demonstrating not so much his innocence, but the ineffectiveness of the police when looking for a single suspect.
Regarding this point I also think the same. In the first chapters I liked the determination of Detective Joe (Edgar Ramirez), I thought he was going to make a more active character in the plot, but the character was diluted and at times it seemed to me to be in front of some cops who were only looking for the easy, what you see above without digging into the personal histories of the alleged suspects to find the culprit, so they had only focused on Jonathan with the only suspect.

En el primer capítulo también sospeché de Jonathan, a medida que avanzaba la historia todo parecía estar en su contra, pero por alguna razón su actitud era la de una persona inocente. La actuación de Hugh Grant es excelente, en ningún momento dudé, era una combinación de sinceridad y arrepentimiento.
Lo único que podía pensar en cada capítulo era ¿quién mató a Elena? Muchos de los personajes pasaron por mi mente, entre ellos Grace, creo que fue mi principal sospechosa, en este caso la actuación de Nicole Kidman fue la de una persona en shock y por momentos parecía fingida y me hizo pensar que ella sabía de la aventura de su marido y tenía motivos para matar de una manera brutal.
Pero no era la única, porque también estaba Fernando, el marido de Elena, que tenía motivos suficientes para matarla en un momento de rabia y celos.

The only thing I could think about in each chapter was who killed Elena? Many of the characters went through my mind, including Grace, I think she was my main suspect, in this case Nicole Kidman’s performance was of a person in shock and at times it seemed faked and made me think that she knew about her husband’s affair and had reason to kill in a brutal way.
But she was not the only one, because there was also Fernando, Elena’s husband, who had enough reasons to kill her in a moment of rage and jealousy.

El final, aunque no tuvo un giro argumental y no hubo sorpresas, pues yo si estaba esperando que las hubiera al sospechar de tantas personas. Para mí no fue decepcionante, porque la inteligencia y la astucia fueron las protagonistas del último capítulo, todo se resuelve de una manera satisfactoria dejando a los malos dónde deben estar y a los buenos a salvó.
The ending, although it did not have a plot twist and there were no surprises, because I was expecting there would be some, suspecting so many people. For me it was not disappointing, because intelligence and cunning were the protagonists of the last chapter, everything is resolved in a satisfactory way leaving the bad guys where they should be and the good guys saved.
Es extraño, no me gusta el suspenso, pero me gusta jajaja. Es decir, me da mucha ansiedad, pero quiero ver qué pasa luego.
Oh vaya, aquí actúa Edgar Ramirez, no me había visto esta serie, pero ya me la has contado, sin duda alguna bastante turbio todo y de verdad que yo no sabría cómo actuar si fuera Grace.
Jajaja el suspenso y misterio a mi si me gusta porque siempre te dejan pensando, quién será el culpable.
Si no hubiera hablado del final, quizás no estaría contando tanto, pero no lo pude evitar. Perdón.
