The colors of evil: Red // Review and opinion [ENG-ESP]
I don’t know if thrillers chase me or I chase them, I had been looking for weeks for other types of movies, I wanted to get away from the usual. I saw romantic comedies but the truth is that all the ones I saw seemed a bit simple for my taste, I managed to review a live action of a Japanese anime that I found interesting and also a movie about a real life case that I also liked. The thing is I wanted to stay away from this kind of movie for a while, but that time was not so long, because as soon as I saw the promotional poster of this movie I said it was for me 🤣🤣 as well as a series I’m watching based on a real life murder, which I’ll tell you more later when I finally finish it.
The colors of evil: red, I’m still confused by the title, it wasn’t that I expected to see more evil, because in this movie it’s presented in a variety of situations and for a variety of reasons, rather I expected to see more blood, because of the red color theme. I don’t know, things that occur to me, I just didn’t associate the color red with anything.
No sé si los thrillers me persiguen o yo los persigo a ellos, tenía semanas buscando otro tipos de películas, tenía ganas de alejarme de lo habitual. Vi comedias románticas pero la verdad todas las que vi me parecieron un poco simples para mí gusto, logré reseñar un live action de un anime japonés que me pareció interesante y también una película sobre un caso de la vida real que también me gustó. El caso es quería mantenerme alejada de este tipo de película por un tiempo, pero ese tiempo no fue tan extenso, porque apenas vi el póster promocional de esta película dije que era para mi 🤣🤣 así como una serie que estoy viendo basada en un asesinato de la vida real, que les contaré más adelante cuando por fin la termine.
Los colores del mal: rojo, todavía me confunde el título, no era que esperaba ver más maldad, porque en esta película se presenta en una variedad de situaciones y por diversas razones, mas bien esperaba ver mas sangre, por el tema del color rojo. No sé, cosas que se me ocurren, es que no asocié el color rojo con nada.
The body of a woman appears on the shore of the beach, the girl is naked and her lips have been mutilated, which indicates that the first conclusion is murder. The investigation closes very quickly as 15 years ago a woman was murdered in the same way and the culprit was convicted but had just been released from prison, so it fits the profile quickly and with a record. The mother of the murdered girl is not resigned and neither is the prosecutor handling the case, to whom it seems that something is not right and should be investigated further.
Thus begins the search for who Monika was, who her friends were, where she worked and her love life. All these aspects of Monika’s life would lead to the murderer.
El cuerpo de una mujer aparece en la orilla de la playa, la chica está desnuda y tiene los labios mutilados, lo que indica que la primera conclusión es el asesinato. La investigación se cierra muy rápidamente ya que hace 15 años una mujer fue asesinada de la misma forma y el culpable fue condenado pero acababa de salir de la cárcel, por lo que encaja en el perfil rápidamente y con antecedentes. La madre de la chica asesinada no se resigna y tampoco el fiscal que lleva el caso, a quien le parece que algo no va bien y debe investigarse más.
Así comienza la búsqueda de quién era Monika, quiénes eran sus amigos, dónde trabajaba y su vida amorosa. Todos estos aspectos de la vida de Monika conducirían al asesino.
One of the things I like about Netflix is that I can watch movies from all over the world and learn about culture and other things, and little by little I’m discarding those that are made only commercially and those that have valuable content. This film is of Polish origin, with a striking plot for people like me who are attracted to mystery, but this time in a very short time we are presented with the most viable suspect, with a lot of power to cover up all his misdeeds and dirty business, also with a totally psychopathic behavior. I found that part interesting because you will not wait until the end to find out who the murderer is, they show you reasons, modes of operation and a sequence of events that overwhelm you by the panic that Monika had to go through to stay alive. Now it was only necessary to find the evidence to be able to do justice and the prosecutor and Monika’s mother, who is also a judge and knows the law, would be in charge of that.
Everything follows a fairly decent sequence in my opinion. Until the end and when we believe that justice was done, they change the signal and it turns out that things are not as they were investigated. Of course everything happened that way, but Monika’s ending didn’t come the way we thought it would, it was less dramatic and with less involved.
Una de las cosas que me gusta de Netflix es que puedo ver películas de todo el mundo y aprender sobre cultura y otras cosas, y poco a poco voy descartando las que están hechas solo comercialmente y las que tienen contenido valioso. Esta película es de origen polaco, con una trama llamativa para personas como yo que nos atrae el misterio, pero esta vez en muy poco tiempo se nos presenta al sospechoso más viable, con mucho poder para encubrir todas sus fechorías y negocios sucios, además con un comportamiento totalmente psicopático. Esa parte me pareció interesante porque no vas a esperar hasta el final para saber quién es el asesino, te muestran razones, modos de operar y una secuencia de hechos que te sobrecogen por el pánico que tuvo que pasar Monika para seguir con vida. Ahora sólo faltaba encontrar las pruebas para poder hacer justicia y de eso se encargarían el fiscal y la madre de Monika, que también es juez y conoce la ley.
Todo sigue una secuencia bastante decente en mi opinión. Hasta el final y cuando creemos que se hizo justicia, cambian la señal y resulta que las cosas no son como se investigaron. Claro que todo sucedió así, pero el final de Monika no fue como pensábamos, fue menos dramático y con menos implicados.
Although the evil is well represented in only one person, for me he was the best character. The others lacked character, because I haven’t talked about Monika’s father but I think he was the worst in my opinion, a person without any kind of expression neither in sad moments, nor of anguish, nor of worry. For a moment I thought he was the one who killed her, but that’s what he inspired. If that’s what they wanted to convey, he did it very well in an expressionless way. The prosecutor is a young man, so he seemed inexperienced to me. I found Monika’s mother convincing, she did what she had to do, at the time she had to do it, she felt guilty that her daughter had ended up like that and her not knowing what was happening to her.
It is a film with a strong plot because it touches on sensitive issues such as drug trafficking, mafia, sex, infidelity, extreme violence and sadism. There are so many things that at times you feel overwhelmed and as there seems to be only one guilty party, you are waiting for it to end badly, but as in many productions the one who speaks the least is the one who has the most to say, in the end we are left with a bittersweet taste, because although justice is done and it is something that should happen, it is not what was expected and leaves you a little confused about whether you liked the conclusion or not. To tell the truth a lot of people love those plot twists and I like them too but I was sold a very well designed idea, then the ending left me upside down like Condorito 🤣🤣.
Aunque la maldad esta bien representada en una sola persona, para mi fue el mejor personaje. A los demás les faltaba carácter, porque no he hablado del padre de Monika pero creo que era el peor en mi opinión, una persona sin ningún tipo de expresión ni en momentos tristes, ni de angustia, ni de preocupación. Por un momento pensé que fue él quien la mató, pero eso es lo que inspiró. Si eso es lo que querían transmitir, lo hizo muy bien de forma inexpresiva. El fiscal es un hombre joven, así que me pareció inexperto. La madre de Monika me pareció convincente, hizo lo que tenía que hacer, en el momento en que tenía que hacerlo, se sentía culpable de que su hija hubiera acabado así y ella sin saber lo que le estaba pasando.
Es una película con un argumento fuerte porque toca temas delicados como el narcotráfico, la mafia, el sexo, la infidelidad, la violencia extrema y el sadismo. Son tantas cosas que por momentos te sientes abrumado y como parece que solo hay un culpable, estás esperando que termine mal, pero como en muchas producciones el que menos habla es el que más tiene que decir, al final nos quedamos con un sabor agridulce, porque aunque se hace justicia y es algo que debería pasar, no es lo que se esperaba y te deja un poco confundido sobre si te gustó o no la conclusión. A decir verdad a mucha gente le encantan esos giros argumentales y a mi también me gustan pero me vendieron una idea muy bien diseñada, luego el final me dejó de cabeza como Condorito 🤣🤣.

El cine polaco es peculiarmente diferente al que se suele ver en otro tipo de películas, el mismo se caracteriza por incluir uno o varios de sus personajes que expresan poco a nivel corporal o facial. Esto no es porque el personaje sea así, es porque los polacos son así jejeje, además de ser poco expresivos son muy tranquilos y sus reacciones son super diferentes a lo que realmente se suele ver en situaciones dramáticas. Es un cine diferente para un público diferente.
Aunque no la he visto, el poster me llamó la atención y luego de leerte, le daré una oportunidad. Gracias por tu recomendación
Exactamente, la personalidad de las personas en esos países es así, son inexpresivos 😑 y las producciones son más tranquilas.

Yo vi esta pelicula hace como dos semanas, no le hecho su reseña, se me habia olvidado que la vi 😜 y su final que lo recorde gracias a tu post.
Tambien pensé por un momento que era el padre quien la habia matado, si llegue a pensar en el asesino pero no encontrana el movil que lo dieron al final, me gustó y creo que estaban dando una mensaje a la juventud.
Ah por cierto, no sabia que eso era lo significaba su titulo. 🥰
Es que yo tampoco asocié el título con nada.
Y el papá para mí siempre fue sospechoso, aunque tampoco es que estaba limpio, también tenía su grado de culpabilidad.
