I finally mustered the courage to watch The Conjuring 2 from start to finish. I won't lie; it took me three days to complete it, as I had to break it up into manageable chunks to gather my bravery. But with each passing day, I felt my resolve strengthening, and I finally finished the movie in the bright light of day. Well I didn't dare watch it at nightfall in any of the days.

The movie Conjuring is not only terrifying but also eerily realistic. It's a movie that made me question my own maternal instincts, as I doubted my ability to exhibit the same level of bravery as the character Peggy. There were moments when I was shaking with fear, repeatedly whispering to myself, "It's just a movie," as a coping mechanism. Thankfully, this trick, which I learned from @wongi, proved effective in calming my nerves and saw me through the movie. And even in one of my dream where the frightening Nun scene was going to replay, I found my subconscious constantly repeat, its just a movie and immediately the scene faded away

Well, in my newfound bravery, I'm now eager to tackle the entire Conjuring franchise, including all it's sequels. While I may not watch them in one sitting, I'm willing to face my fears and watch them even at night, if that's what it takes lol.

Now, let's dive into the plot of this chilling movie: The Conjuring 2 revolves around Peggy, a single mother of four, who lives in a haunted house with her children. The house, once a happy home, becomes a hub of paranormal activity after Peggy's husband leaves her for a younger woman. The family's inability to cope with the hurt and betrayal opens the door to malevolent spirits, particularly the ghost of 72-year-old Bill Wilkins, who possesses Peggy's 8-year-old daughter, Janet.

As the supernatural events escalate, the church intervenes, seeking the expertise of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. This husband-and-wife team has a proven track record of communicating with spirits and solving paranormal cases. However, their involvement comes at a cost, as they soon find themselves entangled in a web of demonic forces that threaten to consume them.

As the story unfolds, Ed begins to experience terrifying visions of a demon disguised as a nun, which he captures on canvas. Lorraine, too, has her own share of ominous premonitions, which prove unsettlingly realistic. The cumulative effect of these paranormal encounters takes a toll on the Warrens, leaving Lorraine exhausted and yearning for a normal life with their teenage daughter.

However, their desire for a peaceful existence is short-lived, as the church requests their assistance in helping Peggy and her children. Despite my reservations to horror movies, which frightens me to no end, I found The Conjuring 2 to be a standout film that not only terrified me but also provided valuable lessons. This movie underscores the importance of family unity, highlighting the devastating consequences of a fragmented family and the power of love and solidarity in overcoming even the most daunting challenges.

Watching this movie was somewhat thought-provoking for me as well. The thing is, seeing Peggy risk her life repeatedly to try to save her daughter Janet at first did not sit well with me. The final scene, where she managed to escape with three of her children, took them to safety, and then ran back into the house to an already possessed Janet, who was too far gone, was just somehow.

I asked so many questions because, at first, I thought it was a stupid act. I mean, why die for one, leaving the rest to be cared for by who? Would I also want to put my life on the line for my children? I mean, my mother did it for my siblings and me, but is it the sensible thing to do?

I was greatly troubled, and for days, while I battled with my conscience and my maternal instinct, the whole movie played out again in my subconscious, and another thought-provoking question arose. What if Janet was able to pull through because of her mother's bravery?

I've heard my mom always talk about the protection of a mother, like the mother hen, whom, despite her condition, is always ready to fight gallantly to protect her chicks from predators. Well, what if there's some sort of energy around that action, ensuring the safety of both mother and child in their vulnerability?

Well, I'm a critical thinker, and phenomena like Peggy's actions I find intriguing.

In all, it's a good watch. I find the chemistry between the Ed and Lorraine character quite charming. The relationship between Janet and Siblings quite satisfying and ohh their mother Peggy, her acting is a natural. I'd rate it 10/10 because the plot twist at the end?? I never saw it coming. Turns out old man Wilkins was only a pawn to something more sinister.

I'm scared of horror movies. When I watch them alone, I check the house before going to sleep, of course, if it's at night.

En esta película ame más esa pareja los Warren, no le gusta las películas de terror, Pero solo por ellos la veo , su amor trasciende fronteras .. y en esta parte se siente más , muy buenos actores ♥️

I have seen many demonic possession films but the conjuring hasn't been one of them. I do not know why, but I haven't brought myself to see it. Maybe because of the hype that surrounds.

I'm glad that you've seen it and you actually look forward to seeing more of it.

This, was an amazing review dearest. ✨

Well, I do not watch horror films for any reason, so even though this is an excellent review, I won't, for the life of me, think of seeing it.😄
