A Review On Lisàbí The Movie.

Lisabi is the latest and most talked movie in the Nigerian movie industry at the moment with some great actors in it. I know so many of us are not familiar with Nigerian movies and that’s why I’m bringing that to you today.
Lisabi is a real story of what transpired between the Oyo empire and the people of Egba.

The Oyo empire is the greatest empire in the land back then and because they are the greatest, the King of Oyo has the right to collect things from the people of Egba and other places. They may collect what those people have been working for and all they had leaving them empty handed.
It might have been better if they were only doing that but no. They were also misusing that power they had by frustrating the people of other villages and even snatching their wives and doing all sorts of things.

Life became very unbearable for the people Egba and they could not withstand this unfair treatment anymore. They even started to kill the people of Egba who confronted or tried to challenge them. Since the people could no longer take it, one young man, Lisabi stood up and decided to fight for his people.

Then in Africa, the way we rely on charm is really important and Lisabi went to the borders of heaven to collect powers from the witches and wizard of the world. After too many practices and the support of other Egba people, they confronted the people of Oyo and the Oyos got defeated.
All thanks to Lisabi for standing against the people of Oyo and stopping them from collecting all their hard earned money and all other things they have worked their lives for. The people were so happy that Lisabi rescued them and that they also agreed to the idea that Lisabi brought and they all did the work together.

This movie has an English subtitle but the main language that was spoken there is the Yoruba language. The movie was acted in one of the thick villages here in Nigeria and for your information, this is what our villages and every Nigerian household looked like before civilization decided to set in so the movie portrayed the real history of the real Lisabi with the setting as well.

There are some amazing characters and I would have loved to mention their names but feel it isn’t needed since you all may not know them. You can’t find this movie on YouTube but you can find it on Netflix which I also used as a means of watching the movie.

Do I recommend this movie to you all? To be very sincere, I recommend this movie to all of you. It isn’t just a movie but one with a very fantastic history to back it up.
Just get your popcorn available while watching it so that you will have something to munch on when you’re watching the movie.
