SIMPLE THOUGHTS IN SIMPLE PICTURES - Episode One - 21ST OF NOVEMBER 2023, IN THE MIDLLE OF THE NIGHT
Hi. π In this series I will present artworks inspired by what I'm thinking and doing right now. Relatively simple artworks, created quickly in Photoshop using the simple brush tools controlled by the mouse.
I started drawing this impromptu stuff a week or so ago to use it in the replies to kind comments under my posts. Since I'm having a lot of fun creating these things, I decided to expand the concept from the comment space to blogging.
And here comes the first one, hope you'll like it.
The image on the computer screen in the picture is a screenshot that shows a thumbnail of a movie I was really watching a couple of hours ago.
The name of the movie is Planet of Dinosaurs
It's a cheap B, C, or maybe even, I don't know - Z movie from 1977.
The acting and plot are pretty boring, although from time to time also silly enough to be entertaining. With that said, the stop-motion special effects are surprisingly good. Dinosaurs in the movie are totally cool in that old-fashioned Ray Harryhausen way.
It's a Science Fiction movie with dinosaurs. It starts with a spaceship from Earth that emergency lands on a planet that looks exactly like Earth would look today if stop-motion dinosaurs were living among us.
In the movie, that alien planet is in the same stage of its existence in which the Earth was a long time ago.
It's an extremely obscure movie but I love obscure things in cinema, literature & all kinds of art. I love clumsy, trashy art too, mostly becouse is often pretty unique and adds a nice diversity to the whole world of art.
In the following screenshot ...
... you can see one of the dinosaurs in the movie.
Here you can see a typical seventies lady scientist from the movies with a typical seventies hairstyle and wearing the typical seventies science fiction dress running from a different kind of dinosaur.
In this silly screenshot, you can see a group of people running from dinosaurs but dinosaurs aren't present in the frame so it looks like they are jogging or running away from ghosts. Most of the movie is made of similar scenes.
That was kind of an old movie. Haven't heard of it though.
Yes, it's a very obscure one. I came across it by chance on YouTube.
As much as I love movies, I sometimes wonder how these movies with animals are done and those animal are very responsive. Do they really use animal that exist?
Well, in old movies they often used real animals that aren't extinct. The dinosaurs were made by animating models frame by frame.
Nowadays is all CGI. Lions, tigers, dinosaurs, extinct, non extinct, on the way to the extinction - more or less everything.
Ohh, I have always thought about these things and I haven't gotten and answer to it. Thanks God you help me give an answer to it. Thanks for your contribution

Enjoy your day my friend
Planet of Dinosaurs, I have come across that movie but I haven't watched it.
Your artwork is amazing. Hehe! Will I be able having some cool ghost like visitors while watching a monster movie. It's going to be quite scary though.
π
Even though they are boring, seventies films have a very deep meaning

The movie should be an interesting one
Iβve never watched or even hear about it before though
Yes, this is a very unknown old movie. I came across it by chance on YouTube. It's not a very good movie, that's for sure but it can be interesting to observe as a cheap artifact of another period in recent history.
Haha, when I watch the behind-the-scenes of some movies I get angry for being too emotional. hahah these are just tricks.
π
I really like watching a movie, indeed in the 70s the film still looks ordinary, behind the story in the film has a very deep meaning.
I really like it about the art you makeπ

It looks like a very old classic movie. For its time this movie looks very good with excellent picture quality. But as earlier technology had not advanced so much then there were many mistakes in the movie π€£π
