We have a streaming stick on pretty much every TV in our house. Okay, it's only three TV's and the one in the bedroom we virtually never use, but they are connected with either a Firestick or a Roku device. If you end up hating the Firestick, you should check out the Roku devices. They both have their pros and cons and I wouldn't argue one is better than the other. Like I said, we have a mix of them in our house. I agree with you for sure, the built in "smart TV's" are often quite disappointing. The one exception would be the TCL's but that's mainly because they have the Roku software built right in.

I never really thought that the processing power of my TV would ever be a factor in my life but here we are!

Yeah, pretty crazy! I have a Vizio and the built in "smart" features are horrible.
