My opinion about Robot Dreams
Yes, I got carried away by the FOMO; because I really didn't feel like watching this movie (more to avoid the sadness of the ending than anything else); but I decided to give it a chance and I watched it.
The story starts showing us Dog; a little dog that has a lonely life; because he doesn't have many friends and no partner; then, he sees on TV, a commercial where they offer the sale of a robot and decides to buy it; he receives it without problems and patiently, he puts it together until he sees Robot "come to life" like Frankenstein. Then, the movie takes us through funny moments in which Dog shows Robot his world.
One day; they decide to go to the beach, they spend a great day and at the end of the afternoon, they notice that Robot runs out of batteries; even though Dog tried to move him, he couldn't, so, reluctantly; he lets Robot spend the night on the beach, with the idea of looking for him the next day.
The night passes, at dawn; Dog goes to the beach again and finds it closed; he tries several times to enter, but does not succeed; so, he resigns himself to wait for the end of winter to be able to enter again to look for Robot.
The film goes on and we see how Dog tries to overcome while Robot is having more and more strange dreams without context.
And so much for the movie.
As such, it generated mixed feelings in me; and I have seen in social networks how it has generated mixed opinions; especially because of the simile in interpersonal relationships.
In how one "one part" walks away and doesn't make an effort to maintain the bond and another part just stands there, waiting without knowing what to do.

The final scene shows us how Robot saw Dog from afar and had the opportunity to approach him; but in the middle of his reverie, he remembered that his present is Randall and that Dog is already part of his past.

Si, me dejé llevar por el FOMO; porque realmente no tenía ganas de ver esta película. (Más por evitarme la tristeza del final que por otra cosa); pero decidí darle un chance y la vi.
La historia inicia mostrándonos a Dog; un perrito que tiene una vida un poco solitaria; por no tener muchos amigos y tampoco pareja; luego, ve en TV, un comercial donde ofrecen la venta de un robot y decide comprarlo; lo recibe sin contratiempos y pacientemente, lo arma hasta ver a Robot “Cobrar vida” cual Frankenstein. A continuación; la película nos lleva por momentos divertidos en los cuales, Dog le va a mostrando a Robot, su mundo.
Un día; deciden ir a la playa, pasan un día genial y al finalizar la tarde, notan que Robot se queda sin baterías; por más que Dog intentó moverlo, no logró, así que, a regañadientes; deja a Robot pasar la noche en la playa, con la idea de buscarlo al día siguiente.
Pasa la noche, al amanecer; Dog va a la playa de nuevo y la consigue cerrada; intenta en varias ocasiones entrar, pero no lo logra; así que, se resigna a esperar el final del invierno para poder entrar de nuevo a buscar a Robot.
La película transcurre y vemos como Dog, trata de sobreponerse mientras Robot, va teniendo sueños cada vez más extraños y sin contexto. Y hasta aquí te cuento la película.
Como tal, me generó sentimientos encontrados; y he visto en redes sociales como ha generado opiniones mixtas; sobre todo por el símil en relaciones interpersonales.
En como una “una parte” se aleja y no se esfuerza por mantener el vínculo y otra parte que solo se queda allí, esperando sin saber que hacer.
Así como a también, Dog, consiguió a alguien mas para seguir adelante, pero a pesar de ello, Dog seguía viendo a Robot en su nuevo amigo
Por otra parte, Robot también siguió adelante, solo que Randall (el mapache que reensambló a Robot) lo consiguió por casualidad. Así como el famoso dicho “Andábamos sin buscarnos, pero sabiendo que nos íbamos a encontrar”.
La escena final; nos muestra como Robot vio de lejos a Dog y tuvo la oportunidad de acercarse a su encuentro; pero en medio de su ensoñación; recordó que su presente es Randall y que Dog ya es parte de su pasado.
Y entre todas las lecciones que nos deja la película; creo que esta es la más importante.
Amar es dejar ir, es recordar el pasado con amor y nostalgia; pero abrazar el presente apreciando lo que se tiene hoy.
Es algo en lo que caemos mucho; el idealizar lo que teníamos con la mirada de la nostalgia; porque si, duele mucho soltar aquello que pudo haber sido y no fue; pero también es valido entender que “Dejar ir” también es una forma de amar; que no podemos ser egoístas, que no es posible hacer que alguien nos quiera a nuestra forma; solo a su forma y que si las discrepancias, son tan fuertes; es porque quizá, no sea un amor tan sano como lo suponemos.
Las relaciones interpersonales son complejas; porque como humanos, somos complejos; sin embargo, el tomarnos un tiempo en entendernos y sanar, puede ayudarnos a ser más conscientes de nuestra forma de amar y de sentirnos amados.
