"El Apostol" Mi Opinión de la película (ESP/ENG)

Yesterday I was browsing Netflix looking for a good horror movie and suddenly I found one that seemed interesting to me after watching the trailer, it's The Apostle. This movie shows us the whole journey of a man who is forced to infiltrate a strange religious cult to try to save his sister who was kidnapped, to top it off the sect is not on the mainland, but on a remote island.
Ayer estuve revisando Netflix en búsqueda de una buena película de terror y de pronto encontré una que me pareció interesante luego de ver el trailer, se trata de El Apóstol. Esta película nos muestra toda la travesía de un hombre que se ve en la obligación de infiltrarse en un extraño culto religioso para tratar de salvar a su hermana que fue secuestrada, para colmo la secta no está en el continente, sino en una isla apartada.
I must admit that the movie started off with a rather slow plot, but little by little it became more and more interesting. The characters' performances are so good that it's not hard to empathize with them and feel part of what's happening on screen, and of course I can't help but mention the fact that the plot itself is very original and interesting. I know that other movies have touched on the subject of cults and in fact the most similar one is The Village, but unlike that movie, this one is about a cult that serves a real deity, a kind of "goddess" that is fed with blood. However, beyond that, what is really scary (and I think is the main message of the movie) is how the lust for power can make people sick, as in the case of Bell Ringer (I have to admit that I was really surprised by that).
Debo reconocer que la película inicio con una trama un poco lenta, pero poco a poco se fue volviendo más y más interesante, las actuaciones de los personajes son tan buenas que no cuesta para nada empatizar con ellos y sentirse parte de la lo que está ocurriendo en pantalla, y desde luego no puedo dejar de mencionar el hecho de que la trama como tal es muy original e interesante. Sé que en otras películas se han tocado los temas de las sectas y de hecho la más parecida es La Aldea, pero a diferencia de esa película, este se trata de un culto que sirve a una deidad real, una especie de "diosa" a la que alimentan con sangre. Sin embargo, más allá de eso, lo que de verdad asusta (y creo que es el mensaje principal de la película) es como las ansias de poder pueden llegar a enfermar a la gente, como en el caso de Bell Ringer (tengo que reconocer que lo que hizo me sorprendió muchísimo)
The film is a departure from the conventional in many ways but mainly in the fact that the real leader of the sect, well, at least the one who pretends to be at the end, does not act as these people usually do, rather he keeps a low profile most of the time, observing and analyzing, however, as a spectator I could not help but get confused at the end and be left with many unanswered questions, such as who was this deity? Was she good or bad after all? Was the protagonist really her son or what connection was there between them?
La película se sale de lo convencional en muchos sentidos pero principalmente en el hecho de que el verdadero líder de la secta, bueno, al menos quien pretende serlo al final, no actúa como siempre lo hacen estas personas, más bien se mantiene bajo perfil la mayor parte del tiempo, observando y analizando, sin embargo, como espectadora no pude evitar confundirme al final y quedar con muchas preguntas sin respuesta, como por ejemplo ¿Quién era esa deidad? ¿Al final de cuentas era buena o mala? ¿El protagonista era su hijo realmente o que conexión había entre ambos?
But still the subplots are very interesting and above all moving, but at the same time they show us the true face of two characters: The prophet Malcolm and Bell Ringer, with them it is demonstrated that nothing is what it really seems, that even within the organization no one can be trusted.
Pero aún así las subtramas son muy interesantes y sobre todo conmovedoras, pero al mismo tiempo nos muestran la verdadera cara de dos personajes: El profeta Malcom y Bell Ringer, con ellos queda demostrado que nada es lo que parece realmente, que incluso dentro de la organización no se puede confiar en nadie.
The ending was a bit disappointing (at least from my point of view) but I really couldn't say much about it here without giving away a huge spoiler, so I'd rather invite you to watch the movie and draw your own conclusions.
El final resultó un poco decepcionante (al menos desde mi punto de vista) pero realmente yo no podría decir mucho al respecto aquí sin hacerles un gran spoiler, así que prefiero invitarlos a ver la película para que ustedes saquen sus propias conclusiones.
In conclusion, I would say that it is a very entertaining film, full of action and shocks, that will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time, but with a somewhat disappointing ending, and you have to take into account that you are left with unanswered questions in your head, questions that may be answered in a sequel. En conclusión yo diría que es una película muy entretenida, llena de mucha acción y sobresaltos, que te va a mantener en vilo todo el tiempo, pero con un final un poco decepcionante, además de que hay que tomar en cuentas que te quedan preguntas sin respuesta en tu cabeza, preguntas que tal vez queden respondidas en una secuela.
