English Version

Hello to everyone in the Movies & TV Shows community! Today I'm joining us here to celebrate a television event that greatly changed what we know as the science fiction genre. It was on September 10th 1993 that the pilot episode of the X Files premiered. Perhaps not many imagined it, but that pilot episode would mean the beginning of an unstoppable success that would give birth to some 12 seasons, 3 films, a spin-off (The Lone Gunmen), several books, a phenomenon known as "The Scully Effect" and of course, a legacy that has been difficult to forget. Serving as a source of admiration and influence for several modern series of the same genre.

Althrought I'm not from the era and didn't live through that time when each episode came out once a week (the excitement of waiting, knowing future events, etc.) and so on, the X Files is, for anyone who watches it, timeless. It can be enjoyed as much now in the present as it was in the past. That's why it became a classic, because its passage through time was not affected (at least, not as much as other series) and even though the world has changed, the X Files is still relevant because of something very important (and that helped it to position itself in the past): the charm of unsolved mysteries. I think its themes of paranormal situations, global conspiracies, UFO and alien phenomena and so on, continue to be of great interest to the public.

In addition, the professional treatment given to the series, thanks to Chris Carter's direction, provided a lot of sustainability and credibility, as several of the episodes were written with the help of science experts. Good script, good actors, good photography, good soundtrack. The main characters, with their duality of scepticism (Dana Scully) and belief (Fox Mulder), provided space for a number of interesting debates about life and its unsolved cases. It is for all these reasons that the X Files will remain one of the best science fiction series ever. Today I will celebrate for that, by re-watching the first season of the X Files. So without further ado, thank you very much for stopping by.

Hey! I mean, you perfectly captured what The X Files means to both old fans and newcomers like yourself. Even though you didn't experience it when it was airing live, it’s awesome that you can still appreciate the timelessness of it. It shows how strong the show is in terms of storytelling and the universal appeal of its themes—aliens, conspiracies, the unknown. It’s fascinating stuff that clearly never gets old.

I like how you mentioned the duality between Scully and Mulder honestly, that dynamic is still one of the best parts of the show. It’s cool how their perspectives created those deeper conversations about belief and skepticism, which I feel is why it stayed relevant over the years. Also, the fact that you mentioned how science experts were involved in some of the episodes? That’s a great point! It adds credibility and sets it apart from a lot of other shows in the genre.

Plus, that little detail about The Scully Effect so true! Dana Scully became such an iconic character, and she inspired a whole generation of women to get into STEM fields, which is pretty amazing. Honestly, you captured all the reasons why this show still matters today, and I totally agree with you.

Hope you enjoy re-watching the first season!
