ONE MORE NIGHT
Produced & directed by Frederick Leonard (also starring as Mason), this movie titled “One More Night” tells the story of first loves, regrets, wishes, and second chances.
With a runtime of 2hours 9minutes, this romance drama with a touch of comedy is now streaming on YouTube in the producer’s channel with the same name.
PLOT
Mason (Frederick Leonard) bumps into Annabel ‘Anna’ (Cynthia Clarke) in her interior decor show room after so many years. Both of them look stoned and virtually seemingly frozen in time.
MY TAKE
This was so beautiful to watch. It was intriguing, suspenseful, captivating, hilarious, scintillating, alluring, relatable, and educational.
The chemistry between Fred & Cynthia...just amazing.
That scene on the stairsssssss…gosh! Spicy! But hey! Please DON’T try that at home.
Cynthia is breathtakingly gorgeous and super talented. Her poise, gait, speech mannerisms, and classiness just added that magic to the movie. My lady is effortlessly charming with beautiful iconic facial expressions. She was indeed born for this.
I love the fact that Fred did not try to talk too much like he’s giving a valedictorian speech. Even the few times when it appeared like he was going to, he didn’t as it was toned down…great job. No unnecessarily prolonged scenes.
Can’t express enough how much I loved seeing veteran Nollywood actress Empress Njamah. Empress played the character of Debby as Anna’s friend, and she interpreted that role wellemly well!
I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’d love to see her in a movie with Bisola Aiyeola (if they haven’t been paired together already). They both give off the same vibes and kind of have the same physique.
Now, let’s talk about Uta, the driver. The dude made me laugh. I would love to see him with Ime Bishop Umoh in a movie. Or have they already been paired together? That would be a laughter, mania fiesta.
But wait! So Mason did not have any friends he could talk to apart from his driver! What a life!
I love that they didn’t try to use augmented or fake bums in this movie. All the women appeared in their natural beautiful state. Kudos.
Good costuming (loved all of Fred’s outfits), seamless editing, continuity, the superb intrigue created at the opening scene, incredible camera angles, soulful soundtrack, the slo-mo, the audio, the humour from Uta, great direction, explanatory flashbacks, Anna’s elegance, her speech mannerisms, classy, she added a touch to this movie…great production!
Notwithstanding, there were a few hiccups or head-scratching moments here and there - pretty much like confusing scenarios as per some appearing to be mistaken lines that I may need some clarification:
When Anna said “if i didn’t run into you in that mall, would you have looked for me…!” It got me thinking. Was it her who ran into Mason or the other way around?
Again, when she said “You walked out of this house, angry! Leaving me here alone” Was it her house or Mason’s house?
Richie’s role (played by Bryan Okoye)…something seemed off or wasn’t adding up. His character development wasn’t sufficient for what they later made it seem. There’s a broken bridge that needed mending. Or did I miss something? I know he did make attempts, but that was it
Debby’s role in this story. What happened midway through till the end? She disappeared without a trace. No explanation, nothing. Did I miss something?
I would have loved to see the visuals for Ana’s backstory as opposed to just a speech. It would have made more impact. Some scenes would have been eliminated to allow for this.
Overall, the movie was indeed a worthy watch. The duration could have been at least 10 minutes shorter…I’ll let it slide, though. And what’s with Mason and that outburst of an attitude. It was later explained…so GREAT.
Weldone to everyone involved in this project. It was well executed to a large extent.
Thanks for gracing this post.

With how you’re saying welldone to everyone who worked on the movie, it says alot. I like how you listed the “confusing” parts in the movie. Great review.
Fredrick is good, but I'm not a huge fan of his and especially not of the way he speaks and how he goes on. To know it wasn't as usual in this film is commendable. Thanks for sharing your review.
