Cine TV Community Spotlight #24
Hello and welcome to the 24TH edition of Cine TV Community Spotlight. The Cine TV Spotlight Series has begun in a bid to boost engagement and interaction in the community and showcase the work of deserving authors.
And it’s all simple. At the end of every week, we spotlight works by authors based on the content, originality, style, and word count. It is not a contest but just our way of creating exposure for the works we enjoyed throughout the week and boosting exceptionally written content by our authors. Simply put, give it your best and have fun while at it, and then we showcase your work here.
So, in no particular order, here are the authors spotlighted for this week:

Title: Prey: A Heart Pounding Thrill Ride
The cast delivers solid performances, with Tom bringing a sense of gravitas to the sense that a father would do anything for his family. "Prey" is a well-crafted thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. With its stunning African landscapes, heart-pounding action sequences, and strong performances, its a film you should see if you get the chance. Yes, that's me recommending it to you.

Title: Sleeping Dogs
At the same time, while you feel the tension in your bones, you feel that your sense of curiosity is triggered as much as possible. I can say that this is both story-driven and character-driven... but I would like to add that Russell Crowe has created a character who is a master at creating suspense on his own. The character's psychological turmoil and the ebb and flow of his memories are perfectly and effectively portrayed.

Title: A Quiet Place
The name justifies the movie. There's only some dialogues, the whole movie is silent/sign language/they communicate through gesture. This horror sci-fi film is my recent favorite in the thriller genre. Whenever it comes on TV, I can't but watch it. I have seen this a few months later for the first time after the release of this movie, with my children. If you have grown-ups/teens, you can absolutely watch this with them. I can guarantee you they will love this movie.

Title: Pauline - The Twist You've Been Looking For!
Not for once in my twenty something years of living did I ever think I’d see a German movie in my life with subtitles. Now guys, let’s give it up for Disney+. I was so shocked to start this series only to find them speaking a language that’s not English or Korean. I mean, that’s what we’ve all been used to for a while now. But yeah, let’s dive into the real deal.

Title: Ice Princess - In Memory of Michelle
What can be criticized about the movie is that the emotional depth of the story was not captured at any moment. You realize this in the scenes where the pace slows down and family is emphasized, and in those moments, the seemingly small detail stands out too much. Another was that the tension lagged behind the pace of the action. Especially in the moments of kidnapping and rescue, you look for tension but you can't find it.This film is one of my favorites because I connect with Casey's character every time I watch it. Imposing her point of view, belief and opinion firmly in the face of two controlling mothers who only want her to do what each one thinks is neatly convenient regardless of Casey's feelings, to me was the most important part of the film.

Title: The Witch
One standout element is Kim Da-mi’s performance as Ja-yoon—she embodied the character so well that she brilliantly transitions from a sweet, innocent girl to a terrifying and violent being. Have you ever watched a movie and you are sure it was just acting but doubted that it was just acting? Yeah, she wasn't just able to play the role of Ja-yoon but also play the role of Ja-yoon, deceiving everyone, including the viewers, effortlessly. When it comes to the action scenes, it's a chef's kiss with perfect cinematography. And the lighting found a way to blend and portray with every atmosphere they tried to set.

First things first, whoever put Horror as one of the genres of this movie needs to be fined for that. This doesn't even meet the criteria to be classified as horror. I watched it at midnight thinking I'd be getting some premium horror but in the end, I'm sure I ended up laughing more than being startled. Sure, there were some parts that were unsettling, but not for the scene itself, just that the thought of how that would feel in real life.
