Game of Thrones

Ahh, the home of the red wedding, one of the most scarring pieces of cinematic history I've ever had to endure. This series has absolutely everything in it. It not only shows the worst that humanity has to offer, but it carries it proudly with a torch. Game of thrones is probably the most evil, sadistic, horrible, and twisted series I've ever had the fortune to come across -- and you know what? Everyone absolutely loved it.

Crazy huh?

The basic premise of this is the lengths that some people will go to secure power. To be the ultimate ruler of their plot of land, to own more than their share. It highlights the human need for conquest and power no matter however small a dent, or large a dent the person makes in history.

It's an absolute monster of a series and one of the most humanlike and lifelike that has ever come out. No-one is safe from the clutches of doom that this one leads you into. I wont spoil anything if you haven't seen anything, but all I would say is don't get too attached to anyone, because more than likely they won't be seeing the end of the series.

There's no happy endings in Game of Thrones that's for sure. Kind of like in real life. Most people don't get a real happy life, especially in that day in age. They just muddle through with their lot and try to make do.

The series starts off with Ned Stark who is played by Sean Bean, who is the uncrowned King of the North. It's not an official title, but all the lord and ladies serve the owner of winterfell, which happens to be Ned stark They call him the King of the North because he sort of acts like an overseer to all that is in his vicinity.

One day he's visited by the actual King of the lands, and he is asked to be his hand. Trouble is brewing, people are plotting behind his back, and as it turns out Ned is the only one he can trust. Mainly because he served with him before he was King. He asks him to help, keep his books, watch out for people, act as a sort of Guardian to the King.

So off he trots with the King to make good with what has befallen the Kingdom of Treachery and upheaval.

It all looks good at first of course. Ned is able to make good ground with his investigations, and he finds out quite a lot of the goings on behind the kings back.

But sadly, before he can make any sort of judgement the king dies during a hunting accident and is killed by a wild boar. This leaves an enormous Political struggle. Ned is appointed regent when he dies, but the Lannisters are able to command enough respect between guards and people that Ned loses and ends up captured.

I'll leave it there, but this is just that start of the conversation. There's an entire whole 8 seasons of this, each and every one of them you'll enjoy more than the last, and I expect you'll imagine they can't push the debauchery out any further, but the writers somehow manage to capture the pure evils of humanity and get it in there, each season way worse than the last.

It's bloody brilliant. It is THE best thing I've seen on TV, ever. More realism please. I wish TV did way more of that.

Much less of shiny clean disney stuff. More rolling around in the muck realism.
