A life that changes overnight [ENG/ESP]

Noomi Rapace is an actress who plays very well action roles, there are several films she has done of this type and one that I liked a lot is "Escort", there she gave life to the agent Sam Carlson, a woman with a very private past and a very active present, which allows her to be called for her next mission, one totally different from what she was used to do.

This is where the beautiful Sophie Nélisse comes in, who is known for her fantastic role years ago in the movie "The Book Thief", if you haven't seen it I highly recommend it, a gem without a doubt. When I reviewed the cast and saw these two women together I knew that something good would come out of it, so I decided to give this movie a look and I must say that it left me with a lot of satisfaction.

I want to clarify that it is a movie with a lot of action, some scenes quite realistic and others not so much, but definitely a good movie to entertain and have a good time, like any other where Noomi Rapace acts.

It all begins with a wealthy family in disgrace, which has suffered a major family loss. Zoe has been orphaned, her mother left her when she was only 8 years old and her father died recently, now she is left with her stepmother who shows no affection for her. So far nothing special, but when it is revealed that she will inherit part of the shares of her father's company everything begins to change.

Noomi Rapace es una actriz que interpreta muy bien papeles de acción, son varias las películas que ha realizado de este tipo y una que me ha gustado bastante es “Escolta”, allí dio vida a la agente Sam Carlson, una mujer con un pasado bastante privado y un presente muy activo, el cual le permite ser llamada para su siguiente misión, una totalmente diferente a lo que estaba acostumbrada a hacer.

Aquí es donde entra la bella Sophie Nélisse quien es conocida por su fantástico papel hace años en la película “La ladrona de libros”, si no la has visto te la recomiendo, una joya sin duda. Cuando revise el reparto y vi a estas dos mujeres juntas sabía que algo bueno saldría de eso, así que decidí darle un vistazo a esta película y debo decir que me dejo mucha satisfacción.

Quiero aclarar que es una película con mucha acción, algunas escenas bastante realistas y otras no tanto, pero en definitiva una buena película para entretenerse y pasarla bien, como cualquier otra donde actúe Noomi Rapace.

Todo comienza con una familia adinerada en desgracia, la cual ha sufrido una perdida familiar importante. Zoe ha quedado huérfana, su madre la dejo cuando apenas tenía 8 años y su padre murió recientemente, ahora ha quedado con su madrastra quien no muestra ningún afecto por ella. Hasta aquí nada especial, pero cuando se revela que heredara parte de las acciones de la empresa de su padre todo comienza a cambiar.

At this point the plot starts to make sense, and Sam is hired to be Zoe's bodyguard for the weekend. I started to like the plot because it shows the life of a young girl who likes to "live la vida loca", literally thinks only of nightclubs and sex with anyone who comes her way, something common but not normal in today's youth, with the only difference that here she had all the money available to do it.

This made me think once again about the importance of parenthood, it is not just having a lot of money and problems are solved, that is a big lie, the truth that matters in the lives of young people is the presence of parents, that will influence powerfully and determine what the children will be in the future. As shown in this movie I love it because it shows a reality or rather affirms it.

Continuing with the story, Sam has a mission that is literally easy but everything is complicated when Zoe wants to be killed by an unknown group, and being Sam the only survivor and able to help her live we enter the strong part of the story, which although it has enough action does not stop having a good development. Sometimes action movies only focus on shooting, hits and more, here it is not like that, we can appreciate the relationship that Sam and Zoe are developing, and how together they do everything possible to survive without knowing who to trust and without knowing who their enemy is. Do they succeed? I encourage you to watch the movie to find out.

En este punto la trama comienza a cobrar sentido, y Sam es contratada para ser el guardaespaldas de Zoe por el fin de semana. La trama me comenzó a gustar porque muestra la vida de una joven que lo que le gusta es "living la vida loca", literalmente piensa en solo discotecas y sexo con cualquiera que se le atraviese en el camino, algo común mas no normal en la juventud actual, con la única diferencia que aquí tenía todo el dinero disponible para hacerlo.

Esto me hizo pensar una vez más en la importancia de la paternidad, no es solo tener mucho dinero y los problemas se solucionan, esa es una gran mentira, la verdad que importa en la vida de los jóvenes es la presencia de los padres, eso influirá poderosamente y determinara lo que serán los hijos en el futuro. Como lo muestran en esta película me encanto porque enseña una realidad o mejor dicho la afirma.

Continuando con la historia, Sam tiene una misión que es literalmente fácil pero todo se complica cuando Zoe quiere ser asesinada por un grupo desconocido, y siendo Sam la única sobreviviente y capacitada para ayudarle a vivir entramos en la parte fuerte de la historia, la cual aunque tiene bastante acción no deja de tener un buen desarrollo. En ocasiones las películas de acción solo se centran en disparos, golpes y más, aquí no es así, podemos apreciar la relación que van entablando Sam y Zoe, y como juntas hacen todo lo posible por sobrevivir sin saber en quien confiar y sin saber quién es su enemigo. ¿Lo logran? Te animo a ver la película para averiguarlo.

Final thoughts / Pensamientos finales

There are many things to note about this film, many of them I have named in the bulk of this post, however I want to conclude with some interesting details. The plot is very heartfelt and that can easily hook the viewer, the actresses are outstanding, in fact they are the only ones worthy of great praise, the rest of the actors good evidently but not at the level of these two who play their roles very well. Here we see once again how the quality of the actors can determine the quality of a film, it is a directly proportional factor.

Another aspect that caught my attention is how greed can lead to committing criminal acts, this is not new but in this film they highlight it to the point that it becomes noticeable, because everything bad revolves around that. This detail shows us a part of human nature that will always want to get what does not belong to him or what others possess, and this regardless of the damage they can do to their neighbor.

There are many conclusions that can be drawn from this film, so if you have not seen it I recommend you do, Noomi Rapace is an excellent actress and Sophie not to mention, are two good reasons to spend an hour and a half of your time and enjoy a quality film.

Hay muchas cosas que destacar de este film, muchas de ellas las he nombrado en el grueso de este post, sin embargo quiero concluir con algunos detalles interesantes. La trama es muy sentida y eso fácilmente puede enganchar al televidente, las actrices son destacables, de hecho son las únicas dignas de gran elogio, el resto de los actores buenos evidentemente pero no al nivel de estas dos que interpretan muy bien sus papeles. Aquí vemos una vez más como la calidad de los actores puede determinar la calidad de una película, es un factor directamente proporcional.

Otro aspecto que llamo mi atención es como la codicia puede llevar a cometer hechos delictivos, esto no es nuevo pero en este film lo resaltan hasta el punto que se hace notable, pues todo lo malo gira en torno a eso. Este detalle nos muestra una parte de la naturaleza humana que siempre va a querer obtener lo que no le pertenece o lo que otros poseen, y esto sin importar el daño que puedan hacer a su prójimo.

Son muchas las conclusiones que se pueden sacar de esta película, así que si no la has visto te recomiendo que lo hagas, Noomi Rapace es una excelente actriz y Sophie ni se diga, son dos buenas razones para dedicar una hora y media de tu tiempo y disfrutar de un film de calidad.
