[ESP] Un Caos en medio de otro caos // Chaos in the midst of chaos [ENG]

El Abismo de Kiruna es una película que muestra cosas más allá de un desastre “natural”, si bien el tema central se basa en la supervivencia debido a sismos y derrumbes hay otros temas que son bastante importantes, y es algo que la producción no quiere pasar por alto, de hecho considero que es un aspecto de la vida que nos quiere mostrar.

En nuestros tiempos actuales se vive un relativismo brutal, cada quien tiene “su propia verdad”, lo que para ti puede ser malo para mí no lo es y muchas cosas más sin sentido como ya conocemos, por eso decidí titular mi post como “un caos en medio de otro caos” porque esta película representa precisamente eso.

El lugar donde ocurren los sucesos es en Suecia, un país geográficamente hermoso pero que al igual que Noruega tiene sus antecedentes en cuanto a desastres naturales. El punto acá es que los desastres son causados por una empresa minera que trabaja en la región a sabiendas del pueblo que se niega a ser reubicado.

The Abyss of Kiruna is a film that shows things beyond a "natural" disaster, although the central theme is based on survival due to earthquakes and landslides there are other issues that are quite important, and it is something that the production does not want to overlook, in fact I think it is an aspect of life that wants to show us.

In our current times we live a brutal relativism, everyone has "their own truth", what for you may be bad for me it is not and many more nonsense things as we already know, that's why I decided to title my post as "a chaos in the middle of another chaos" because this film represents precisely that.

The place where the events take place is in Sweden, a geographically beautiful country but one that like Norway has its history of natural disasters. The point here is that the disasters are caused by a mining company working in the region with the knowledge of the people who refuse to be relocated.

Aquí ya vemos un primer problema, un conflicto social entre los mineros y los ciudadanos, lo cual es una crítica a aquellas empresas o sistemas de gobierno que ejecutan sus obras por encima del bienestar humano. Sumado a eso hay un conflicto familiar, y aquí es donde más énfasis hace la producción. La familia protagonista es un completo desastre, están conformados por 4 personas, padre, madre y dos hijos. Los padres aun casados pero prácticamente separados, la madre es quien lleva los pantalones, el hombre bastante cobarde e irresponsable pero demuestra que aun ama a su mujer quien tiene un amante a pesar de estar todavía casada, una relación que todos los demás, incluidos sus hijos conocen.

Ya por allí tenemos otro caos, uno muy grande la verdad, esto hace que sus hijos obviamente vivan y sufran las consecuencias, su hija una lesbiana – besos y demás con otra chica - y su hijo un rebelde que odia a sus padres por su separación, y más a su madre que no quiere una reconciliación.

No se nos muestra cual fue el detonante de la relación pero en el contexto se puede inferir, lo cierto es que las consecuencias son sumamente graves, y todo esto se vuelve un gran desafío cuando el desastre tiene lugar. Aquí mi cabeza estaba vuelta un ocho, la madre desesperada por sus hijos pero evidentemente no sabe nada de ellos, y su padre en la misma situación mientras se pelea con el amante de su esposa que también está con ellos en el desastre.

Here we already see a first problem, a social conflict between the miners and the citizens, which is a criticism of those companies or government systems that execute their works above human welfare. In addition to that there is a family conflict, and this is where the production emphasizes the most. The protagonist family is a complete disaster, they are made up of 4 people, father, mother and two children. The parents are still married but practically separated, the mother is the one who wears the pants, the man is quite cowardly and irresponsible but shows that he still loves his wife who has a lover even though she is still married, a relationship that everyone else, including his children know about.

Already there we have another chaos, a very big one indeed, this makes his children obviously live and suffer the consequences, his daughter a lesbian - kissing and so on with another girl - and his son a rebel who hates his parents for their separation, and more so his mother who doesn't want a reconciliation.

We are not shown what was the trigger for the relationship but in the context it can be inferred, what is certain is that the consequences are extremely serious, and all this becomes a great challenge when the disaster takes place. Here my head was turned an eight, the mother desperate for her children but evidently knows nothing about them, and their father in the same situation while fighting with his wife's lover who is also with them in the disaster.

Definitivamente es una producción que engloba muchos elementos que hacen pensar al espectador. Por lo menos a mí que me gustan los dramas este tipo de películas me lleva mucho a la reflexión, es más que un entretenimiento pues es una historia que tiene mucho de lo que vemos en la realidad.

¿Cómo se puede resolver un conflicto cuando todos están divididos? Una interesante pregunta, pero a ese punto nos lleva la producción debido a que para sobrevivir necesitan estar unidos si o sí. De esta forma también hay una enseñanza práctica para la resolución de conflictos.

Quiero concluir diciendo que es una película que tiene sus puntos de interés, me gusta porque no todo es el desastre, hay situaciones que son muy trágicas, incluso más que un desastre natural y aquí eso queda en evidencia. Los efectos que la película tiene son muy buenos, las lapidaciones crudas es algo que poco se ve pero acá hay una demostración de eso, situaciones de claustrofobia y otras circunstancias que sin duda enganchan. ¿La recomiendo? Sí, pero con cierta nota para el espectador, si te gustan los dramas es una buena opción, de lo contrario te parecerá una película muy aburrida, mal hecha y bastante inmoral.

It is definitely a production that encompasses many elements that make the viewer think. At least for me, who likes dramas, this type of film leads me to reflection, it is more than entertainment because it is a story that has a lot of what we see in reality.

How can a conflict be resolved when everyone is divided? An interesting question, but that's where the production takes us because in order to survive they need to be united. In this way there is also a practical teaching for conflict resolution.

I want to conclude by saying that it is a film that has its points of interest, I like it because not everything is disaster, there are situations that are very tragic, even more than a natural disaster and here that is evident. The effects that the film has are very good, the crude stonings is something that is rarely seen but here there is a demonstration of that, claustrophobic situations and other circumstances that undoubtedly hook. Do I recommend it? Yes, but with a certain note for the viewer, if you like dramas it is a good option, otherwise you will find it a very boring movie, poorly made and quite immoral.
