He who remains forever is not dead...[ENG/ESP]

Satanism has arrived on Netflix and has done so through a film released in 2021, “The Deep House” is its title and although it is masked under a horror and suspense film, it shows us a little about what usually happens in satanic rites. Although my intention here is not to merely talk about it, I could not ignore it because of its obvious message, however, it is a topic that very few know about due to the occultism that encompasses it, but anyway, we will leave this topic in depth for another time.

However, it is the main point of the plot and it is understandable because it is a horror film, but is there really terror? As an old lover of this genre I can say that not much, although there are some scenes that give you a certain scare due to the impression, the film as such does not generate any fear, in fact it is much more suspense and there I can praise it because I liked it a lot how it was developed.

At the beginning of the story we have two key factors that influence the outcome of the couple later on, the first is that both protagonists are smokers and have little resistance underwater, their lungs have been affected by nicotine and although they do not mention it there is moments alluding to this, such as when Ben makes fun of Tina because of her short time underwater, and the second factor is that Ben represents in a certain sense those YouTubers who expose themselves to danger to get more views and income.

Everything takes place in France, the couple travels to a lake with the premise that it is a secret place but when they arrive they notice that it is very crowded, however there is a character played by Eric Savin who appears in the scene and offers them a “ tourist package” to take them to an unprecedented place near that site where they can enjoy a pleasant experience.

At times I started to think about how an actor makes easy money, Eric Savin didn't do much in the plot, he appeared little and in the end he was one of the most important, of course there is a career involved. The character of Tina was the one that made the most impression because it was well developed, Tina was an insecure woman, too much, and that is a real condition in many people, insecurity is dangerous and I think that the beautiful Camille Rowe played it to the perfection, there is a lot to learn there about how an insecure person can be carried like the wind moves the waves by another who is not insecure at all.

Ben was fearless and because of that he risked a mission that in a way was exciting, I love the sea and diving is an experience that I have always wanted to do, here we see well-made diving videos and how man can be risky despite of the dangers or uncertainties that may be encountered.

The film is short and very entertaining, it only lasts around 90 minutes and there is no filler or extraneous scenes, only the beginning is a little weak but the story increases until it reaches its climax. Without a doubt it serves to entertain and pass the time, it really isn't scary but that is a very subjective issue, I can remember that the only one that caused excessive fear in me was the hoop when I saw it years ago, but after that everything is very insipid in this genre.

Finally, I recommend it to see something entertaining, the end? I will leave it to your own opinion, I particularly liked the outcome although not how everything developed, a lot of fiction within reality and that takes away the charm.

El satanismo ha llegado a Netflix y lo ha hecho a través de una película estrenada en el 2021, “The Deep House” es su título y aunque se enmascara bajo una película de terror y suspenso nos muestra un poco acerca de lo que suele ocurrir en ritos satánicos. Si bien mi intención acá no es hablar meramente de ello no podía pasarlo por alto a causa de su evidente mensaje, sin embargo es un tema que muy pocos conocen debido al ocultismo que lo engloba, pero en fin, ya dejaremos este tema a profundidad para otra ocasión.

Sin embargo es el punto principal de la trama y es entendible debido a que es un film del género terror, ¿pero verdaderamente hay terror? Como viejo amante de este género puedo decir que no mucho, si bien hay algunas escenas que te dan cierto susto por la impresión la película como tal no genera nada de miedo, de hecho es mucho más suspenso y allí si puedo aclamarla porque me gusto bastante como fue desarrollado.

Al inicio de la historia tenemos dos factores claves que influyen en el desenlace de la pareja más adelante, el primero es que ambos protagonistas son fumadores y tienen poca resistencia bajo el agua, sus pulmones han sido afectados por la nicotina y aunque no lo citan hay momentos alusivos a ello como cuando Ben se burla de Tina a causa de su poco tiempo bajo el agua, y el segundo factor es que Ben representa en cierto sentido a esos youtubers que se exponen al peligro por conseguir más visitas e ingresos.

Todo se desarrolla en Francia, la pareja viaja a un lago con la premisa de que es un lugar secreto pero cuando llegan notan que es muy concurrido, sin embargo hay un personaje interpretado por Eric Savin que hace aparición en la escena y les ofrece un “paquete turístico” para llevarlos a un lugar inédito cerca de ese sitio donde podrán disfrutar de una grata experiencia.

Por momentos me puse a pensar de cómo se gana fácil el dinero un actor, Eric Savin no hizo mayor cosa en la trama, apareció poco y al final fue uno de los más importantes, claro está hay una trayectoria de por medio. El personaje de Tina fue el que más causo impresión debido a que estuvo bien desarrollado, Tina era una mujer insegura, demasiado, y esa es una condición real en muchas personas, la inseguridad es peligrosa y pienso que la bella Camille Rowe lo interpreto a la perfección, hay mucho que aprender allí de como una persona insegura puede ser llevada como el viento mueve las olas por otra que no lo es en lo absoluto.

Ben era intrépido y debido a eso se arriesgó a una misión que en cierto modo fue emocionante, me encanta el mar y bucear es una experiencia que siempre he querido hacer, aquí vemos videos de buceo bien hechos y como el hombre puede ser arriesgado a pesar de los peligros o incertidumbres que se puedan encontrar.

La película es corta y muy entretenida, solo dura alrededor de 90 minutos y no hay nada de relleno ni escenas fueras de si, solo el inicio es un poco flojo pero va en aumento la historia hasta que llega a su clímax. Sin duda sirve para entretenerse y pasar el tiempo, verdaderamente no da miedo pero eso es un tema muy subjetivo, puedo recordar que la única que causo temor desmedido en mi fue el aro cuando la vi hace años, pero ya después de allí todo es muy insípido en este género.

Por último la recomiendo para ver algo entretenido, ¿el final? Lo dejare a tu propia opinión, particularmente me gusto el desenlace aunque no como se desarrolló todo, mucha ficción dentro de la realidad y eso quita el encanto.
