When I noticed this series it quickly caught my attention, although there are some similar ones in the Netflix catalog in this genre of martial arts, this one intrigued me a little more because the battles and techniques they do are usually more realistic and the combats They are less fanciful.

Nowadays it is difficult to see anime that does not exaggerate in its combats, but in Kengan Ashura this is not entirely the case, I particularly love martial arts, in fact I have my little one in Taekwondo and he likes it a lot, but as for the anime There are few series where seriousness is maintained in this genre, there are always exaggerated and out of context combats, and although many of them are striking, they do not usually bring emotion to the viewer.

With this series it is quite the opposite because the author gives special interest to the battles, making them the main attraction. The fighters are martial artists who live by their own rules and styles, but due to a tournament organized by gangsters - companies - that have power throughout Japan, they unite under their service to fight each other.

Cuando note esta serie rápidamente llamo mi atención, a pesar de que en el catálogo de Netflix hay algunas parecidas en este género de artes marciales, esta me intrigo un poco más debido a que las batallas y técnicas que hacen suelen ser más realistas y los combates son menos fantasiosos.

Hoy en día es difícil ver anime que no exagere en sus combates, pero en Kengan Ashura esto no es del todo así, particularmente me encantan las artes marciales, de hecho tengo a mi pequeño en Taekwondo y le gusta mucho, pero en cuanto al anime son pocas las series donde la seriedad se mantiene en este género, siempre hay combates exagerados y fuera de contexto, y aunque muchos de ellos son llamativos no suelen traer emoción al espectador.

Con esta serie es todo lo contrario porque el autor da un especial interés a las batallas haciendo que estas sean el principal atractivo. Los luchadores son artistas marciales que viven según sus propias reglas y estilos, pero debido a un torneo organizado por mafiosos –compañías- que tienen el poder en todo Japón se unen bajo el servicio de estos para combatir entre sí.

The protagonist of the story is a man named Ohma Tokita, who uses the Niko style that was entrusted to him by his predecessor, however he has an internal struggle because he gave his life to that style thinking it was the most powerful and his master was defeated by an enemy with a different style. That made Toma hate not only the style but his teacher for having died in that fight and he devised his own way of fighting using forbidden techniques that self-destruct his body.

As the plot progresses we will see memories of Ohma with Niko (teacher) and how these influence the development of the character. On the other hand we have a totally different parallel story, Kazhuo Yamashita is Ohma's employer for the kengan tournament, but this man is only a puppet at the hands of another businessman who induced him to participate under a deceptive strategy. Kazuo has a bad relationship with his son, but as he gets to know Ohma he sees him as if he were another son and a quite pleasant and interesting relationship develops between them.

La serie tiene dos luchas diferentes, una es entre los dueños de las diferentes compañías para demostrar quién de ellos es el más poderoso y merece ser el presidente del grupo Kengan, y la otra es entre los artistas marciales que solo desean ser coronados como reyes. En las artes marciales antiguas se manejaba la lucha entre estilos, los combates eran a muerte y lo más importante era ser el luchador más poderoso. Ese concepto antiguo es trasladado a esta serie, por lo que cada peleador mantiene esa mentalidad al momento de combatir.

Dicho esto, podemos ver valores como el honor, la perseverancia, el respeto, y muchos más, también se muestra la locura como parte de ese mundo de las artes marciales, y lo mejor de todo a mi parecer, combates bien detallados entre estilos totalmente diferentes.

El protagonista de la historia es un hombre llamado Ohma Tokita, quien usa el estilo Niko que le fue confiado por su antecesor, sin embargo tiene una lucha interna porque entrego su vida a ese estilo pensando que era el más poderoso y su maestro fue derrotado por un enemigo con un estilo distinto. Eso hizo que Toma odiara no solo el estilo sino a su maestro por haber muerto en ese combate e ideara su propia forma de pelear bajo técnicas prohibidas que autodestruyen su organismo.

En el transcurrir de la trama veremos recuerdos de Ohma con Niko (maestro) y como estos influyen en el desarrollo del personaje. Por otro lado tenemos una historia paralela totalmente diferente, Kazhuo Yamashita es el empleador de Ohma para el torneo kengan, pero este hombre solo es un títere a manos de otro empresario que lo indujo a participar bajo una estrategia engañosa. Kazuo tiene una mala relación con su hijo, pero a medida que conoce a Ohma lo ve como si fuera otro hijo y entre ambos se desarrolla una relación bastante amena e interesante.

Ambos son los protagonistas pero cada uno tiene una lucha diferente, uno como artista marcial y el otro como empresario. Bajo esta manera de vivir de cada uno la producción nos ha dado un anime interesante que tiene cierta fidelidad al manga, no es totalmente fiel porque hay cambios pero se mantienen detalles importantes de manera que la historia a pesar del diferente desarrollo no altera el origen del mismo.

Si te gustan las artes marciales o los anime de combates no exagerados, Kengan es uno que puedes disfrutar, se exhiben en las batallas todo tipo de técnicas, incluso hay un luchador libre profesional que participa en el torneo y más allá de lo excéntrico del personaje en las batallas se aprecia claramente la forma de pelear y los principios de un luchador.

Por último y para concluir, es una serie corta, aunque en Netflix tiene dos temporadas y falta la tercera, los capítulos son cortos, no hay relleno pero tampoco un desorden en la historia, el desarrollo de los personajes está muy bien elaborado, y cada uno de ellos en diferente proporción tiene un participación importante, definitivamente es un buen anime, tiene todo lo necesario para entretener a la audiencia y hacernos disfrutar, incluso si no eres fan del anime puedes pasar un buen rato viendo esta serie.
