My favourite modern Christmas classic - A Klaus Review (2019)

With the end of the year I usually stay at home some days instead of going out with my friends just to watch movies most of the day, I have a post talking about my favourite Christmas movies and I would like to tell you about a film that has relatively little in the collective imagination and yet it has become a modern classic for the quality it has as a film.

I'm talking about Klaus, a film from 2019, a Spanish production (something I love) and which tells a story that is simple but at the same time very much in tune with the whole Christmas theme: the spirit of generosity, the union between everyone to share some of the most beautiful moments of the year.

The plot is about Jasper, an apathetic postman who is sent to a remote island to deliver some packages, the island is inhabited by two feuding families and the situation is not the best from year to year, but when he meets Klaus, he makes a plan to create a new holiday to unite all the people on both sides of the island, it's a story that I find simple and to the point.

The artistic approach is one of my favourites, 2D seems to me to have much more joy and magic than 3D in many films and this film is a special example of that, many scenes where the colour seems to come out of the screen, warm and cold colours, scenes that are equally fun and fascinating.

This is a plus for me in many works, having a well defined artistic direction and having the men to make that vision come true, then we can talk about if the plot develops better or worse, but I think in animation the artistic direction and the intention goes further than having graphics and money, and that's what drives the film.

The comedy is also very well used, although it is still a film focused on a much younger audience, they didn't slack off when they wanted to create funny moments like the attempts to bring gifts to the inhabitants of the island, one more disastrous than another, genuinely got a laugh out of me.

I enjoyed it in each of the parts of the film, when you see that they are a bit weak in script and situations clearly compensates for the visual bet that only with that is already a film worth seeing, many point out that it is already a modern classic of those who will remain in the memory of many and I agree with them enough in this regard.

Klaus is one of those little animated gems that comes out of nowhere and enchants everyone who sees it, it is a revitalisation of the story of Santa but with some twists to include it in modern history, it is a funny, heartwarming comedy that at times touches the heartstrings and makes you think again that the beauty of these dates is to share with those who need and love the most.

Con el termino del año suelo quedarme algunos dias en casa en vez de salir con mis amigos solo para ver peliculas la mayoria del dia, tengo un post hablando sobre mis peliculas de navidad favoritas y quisiera hablarles de un film que tiene relativamente poco en el imaginario colectivo y aun asi se ha convertido en un clasico moderno por la calidad que tiene como pelicula.

Estoy hablando de Klaus, una pelicula de 2019, de produccion española (algo que me encanta) y que cuenta una historia que es sencilla pero a la vez muy a tono con toda la tematica de la navidad: el espiritu de la generosidad, la union entre todos para compartir algunos de los momentos mas hermosos del año.

La trama va de Jasper, un cartero apatico que es enviado a una isla remota a llevar unos paquetes, la isla esta habitada por dos familias enemistadas y la situacion no es de lo mejor año a año, pero cuando conoce a Klaus, hace un plan para crear una nueva festividad para unir a todas las personas que estan en ambos lados de la isla, es una historia que me parece sencilla y al punto.

El enfoque artistico es de mis favoritos, el 2D me parece que tiene mucha mas alegria y magia que el 3D en muchas peliculas y esta pelicula es un ejemplo especial de eso, muchas escenas en donde el color parece que sale de la pantalla, colores calidos y frios, escenas que son igualmente divertidas y fascinantes.

Esto es un plus para mi en muchas obras, el tener una direccion artistica bien definida y tener los hombres para hacer realidad esa vision, ya despues podemos hablar de si la trama se desarrolla mejor o peor, pero creo que en la animacion la direccion artistica y la intencion llega mas lejos que tener graficos y dinero, y es lo que impulsa la pelicula.

Tambien la comedia esta muy bien utilizada, aunque no deja de ser una pelicula enfocada en un publico mucho mas joven se ve que no flojearon cuando quisieron crear momentos graciosos como los intentos de llevar regalos a los habitantes de la isla, uno mas desastroso que otro, genuinamente me saco una carcajada.

Me lo he gozado en cada una de las partes que tiene el film, cuando se ve que estan un poco flojos de guion y situaciones lo compensa claramente la apuesta visual que solo con eso ya es una pelicula digna de ver, muchos apuntan a que ya es un clasico moderno de esos que van a quedar en la memoria de muchos y concuerdo bastante con ellos en este sentido.

Klaus es una de esas joyitas animadas que salen de la nada y encantan a todo el que la vea, es una revitalizacion de la historia de Santa pero con algunos giros para incluirlo a la historia moderna, es una comedia graciosa, enternecedora que por momentos te toca la fibra mas sensible y te hace pensar nuevamente en que lo bonito de estas fechas es compartir con los que mas necesitan y amamos.
